For those of you who don't know, outside of Jerry Rice, Don Hutson is the most dominant wide receiver in NFL history. He held the receiving touchdown record (99) for 60 years before Steve Largent broke it in the 1980s. When you are talking about a player's greatness, I think the best way is to compare what they did to the players in their era. Hutson was by far the best receiver during the time he played. He revolutionized the passing game.
You could make an argument for Reggie White being on the Packers Mount Rushmore because without him Farve doesn’t have a super bowl ring. He’s arguably the greatest defensive linemen of all time. Overall I think the list was very good and they got number 1 correct.
11:43 Jim Plunkett was the greatest restoration project in NFL history. He was at his lowest point in his career when he became a Raiders quarterback and led them to two Super Bowls at a time when he was cut from the 49ers. Tell me I'm wrong.
The Browns Rushmore, even though I know I'm going to get hated, is definitely better than the Giants and probably the Dolphins. Paul Brown revolutionized the game and essentially invented modern football. Jim Brown, the greatest running back ever. Otto Graham, the only quarterback in football history to lead his team to the championship 10 years in a row. And the last spot you can kind of throw up between a few players, Ozzie Newsome, one of the best tight ends ever, I'd be willing to put Joe Thomas on as one of the best left tackles ever, Lou Groza, one of the best kickers and tackles ever, or Paul Warfield, one of the best receivers of the 60s and 70s. I think that's a top 4 that makes it onto the list. If essentially a top 3 in the Patriots can make it as high as they did, I think the Browns deserve to be on the list.

He would of won a few if the terry Bradshaw didn’t lie about his shoulder surgery that he had done over the offseason and payed a doctor to do it under a fake name, the Steelers where gonna draft dan. It’s a shame dan would have a few rings and Steelers would of had 8 or 9 by now
Maybe if they focused on building the defense up really well during that time, but Marino hated to hand the ball off. I bring this up because Marino, like most of us who watched him play, preferred it when he threw the ball. The best situation they should have come up with would have been to draft or hire a guy like Roger Craig or Rickey Waters who are both 1,000 for rushing and 1,000 for receiving yards in a season. They could be integrated in to the passing plays that Marino preferred.
As a Bears fan, I'd switch Singletary with Sid Luckman. The guy won 4 NFL Championships in the 1940s when some of the Bears, including George Halas, were fighting in WWII.
Rams could make a case for being close. Faulk, Dickerson, Deacon Jones, "Night Train" Lane played for them for a little, same for Elroy "Crazy Legs" Hirsch. Not as obvious as some of the ones listed because many of their best players ever were older.
I just gave someone else a "thumb's down" for stating that he thought that Flula Borg was not funny. I happen to think that he is. Therefore, you get a "thumb's down" for your comment from me.
Bears should have Bronko Nagurski. He was the Babe Ruth of the NFL. Other teams rejoiced when he retired. He was so dominant at any position he played and he played both offense and defense. Largest ring finger in the HISTORY of the Hall Of Fame.

It's criminal that Denver isn't on this list, even in the lower spots. We went to 8 super bowls in 40 years. Here's my Mt Rushmore for them. Elway, Bowlen, Gradishar, Sharpe.
The Niners have had great players before the ‘80s. John Brodie, Y.A. Tittle, Hugh McElhenny, Joe “the Jet” Perry, RC Owens, etc...but all anyone talks about are the same media golden boys Just like the Cowboys had great, legendary players before the 90s dynasty. The fact that Tony Dorsett or Randy White or Harvey Martin weren’t even mentioned...is just inexcusable
I have followed the Cowboys since the Ice Bowl and as far as players are concerned, there has NEVER been a greater Dallas player than Mr. Cowboy himself, #74, the first Cowboy ever drafted, the first Cowboy to be inducted into the team’s illustrious Ring of Honor and the first Cowboy to be enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio. Sports fans, I give you the immortal Bob Lilly, arguably the greatest defensive lineman EVER.
I get people wanting Bob Lilly but then who do you leave off? Aikman? Well maybe I guess but it's hard to justify leaving of the starting QB of a team that won 3 of 4 Super Bowls, especially when he went to 6 Pro Bowls, had a Super Bowl MVP and an NFL Man of the Year Trophy. The really nuts part to me is that they only listed Dallas as number 3 on this list.
@@ashleighelizabeth5916 The Cowboys often get overlooked. I was stunned when Cliff Harris made it into Canton. Chuck Howley and Lee Roy Jordan are both worthy as well. Jethro Pugh was so underappreciated and overshadowed by Mr. Cowboy. But Lilly can tell you how great Pugh was. Charlie Waters should be considered as well.
@@yourroyalhighness7662 no argument here. It's criminal that Ed "Too Tall" Jones isn't in the HOF. Not to mention Harvey Martin the first CO MVP to split the trophy. Ravens: 4 hall of famers drafted in a 7 year period, played their entire careers for the ravens(except for one throwaway year by ed Reed) and won 2 Super Bowls with these players. Ray and JO for one, and ray, Suggs, and reed for the second. A 22 year old franchise with 2 Super Bowls and 4 hall of famers.
Bears mountain should have Ditka. He pretty much invented the modern tight end position, and coached their lone SB win. Singletary was maybe the third best linebacker on the famous Bears team.
Ok so I thought in-depth about this. The Bills firstly should be on this list, as their Rushmore is soooo much stronger than most teams on here. There are two options: Kelly, Thurman, Bruce, OJ (would love to include Andre/Levy but neither was as good as the guys I did include) Or: Kelly, Thurman, Bruce, Marv/Ralph Wilson (if you’re punishing OJ...if you aren’t punishing OJ, he is always on the Mount Rushmore for the Bills).
No Browns or Ravens, definitely surprises me. I mean, for Cleveland, you have a locked three of Paul Brown, Jim Brown and Otto Graham. For the Ravens, you have three guys at different positions who are, bare minimum, in the discussion for the greatest of all time at that position (Ogden at LT, Reed at Safety and Lewis and ILB). Heck, Ozzie is in the discussion for both Mount Rushmores if you start getting into GMs.
Ravens already have a mount Rushmore to be proud of, they all played together at the same time Ray Lewis Ed Reed Johnathan Ogden Terrel suggs. Dont know I'd consider them a top ten Rushmore yet, I'm just a ravens fan reminiscing on the good times
How are the Browns not number 1 let alone not even make the list. WOW. Paul Brown. Jim Brown. Otto Graham. Leroy Kelly. Ozzie Newsome. Joe Thomas. Lou Groza. Paul Warfield. Dante Lavelli and the list goes on. The Browns has as rich of history as any team in NFL history. CMON MAN
I'd argue Herschel Walker should be on the Cowboys Mt. Rushmore for the fact that his trade made the Cowboys a dynasty, and brought in both Aikmen and Smith, among others.
People forget that on Super Tecmo Bowl LT was like Bo Jackson on Defense. Super fast getting those sacks. But it was The Raiders team that were just sick on the Tecmo Bowl’s though. Not only The Greatest Athlete in History on 1 side and the game makers made him deservingly so as such, plus Marcus Allen to go with him but then you still had Howie Long on the other side and he was close to LT status on that game too. Howie was the only other player created to Greatness proportions on the D side of Super Tecmo Bowl. That was the 1st Great sports Game. Once the Game was able to save @ all, gave you a season and was able to sub a couple players in & out... that was so completely far ahead of everything else. It was so awesome. I loved that Game, for a while too. I still liked it for little while even after Sega Genesis came out.
Brady, Belichick, Gronkowski, and either Moss or John Hannah. Thats the greatest QB all time, best coach all-time, arguably best TE ever, and Moss is the 2nd greatest WR ever. Hannah one of the best O lineman ever ( 7x 1st team All-Pro & 3x 2nd team All-Pro)
As a Cowboys fan i'd say.... Staubach, Landry, Aikman, Johnson. The top QB, Coach combo of the two greatest periods in Cowboys history. Yeah there's cases to be made for members of the Doomsday Defense, the other two tripletts and a more modern great like Witten etc but that's who i'd choose.
That wouldn't be a terrible choice, but that would mean the bears wouldn't have anyone representing arguably the best defense ( 83-85 bears) in the NFL
TheCrunchySopa the list is Bullshit! The Bears at #6? The team with the Most Hall Of Famers, The Team that started and kept the NFL relevant since its inception! The Team with the 2nd most championships, and most hall of Famers in the NFL. Yet they're #6? What a bunch of idiots and a complete lack of respect for the charter franchise of the NFL. Pathetic really.
As a kid the best linebackers in football where Brian Urlacher Ray Lewis and Zach Thomas. If you don't think Thomas doesn't deserve to be in the hall you don't know football period.
the 49ers would of been the first team to 3peat if roger Craig didn't fumble in the 1990 NFC championship. joe Montana got hurt in that game and steve young came in. all they needed to go is hold the ball and they would have won. and its really unfair to Roger Craig. I think he should be in the Hof. he was a really great running back and he can catch really well, he was the first player in NFL history to have over 1000 of rushing and over 100 recaptions in 1 season. people say that the 49ers never forgave for doing that, but it could of happen to anybody. and he was one of reasons y then won super bowls. Craig killed the Miami in the super bowl.
Craig has to be the next up for this list. The first player with 1000yrds rushing and receiving in the same year. You just can't argue with that. And it's a shame he isn't in the HoF yet.
Everyone's reaction to Eli Manning though. XD I'm glad they put him on here, though. The dude had great years. Not to mention he stepped up and made plays when it mattered the most. At this point, he's earned respect. Even if we still make fun of the way he looks. Lol

His offense was the predecessor to today's wide open offenses, In 10 years he went to 10 championships and won 7 rings Most of the greats coaches are part of his tree Founder and creator of 2 teams

Not included but Washington's Rushmore is nothing to sneeze at either: -Sammy Baugh is the passer's prophet, introducing the intermediate passing game to the NFL that would be a staple of the WCO, as well as being the only man to lead the league in punting, passing, and interceptions. -Sonny Jurgensen, the best pure passer of his era, saddled with medicore teams for most of his career. -Joe Gibbs, winning 3 Super Bowls with three different QBs (among many other accomplishments) -John Riggins, who gained more yards in his 30s in D.C. than his 20s in New York with the Jets and put the team on his back in the '82 playoffs
Browns: Paul Brown, Jim Brown, Otto Graham, Ozzie Newsome Bills: Jack Kemp, OJ Simpson, Jim Kelly, Bruce Smith Chargers: Lance Alworth, Sid Gillman, Dan Fouts, LaDainian Tomlinson Chiefs: Len Dawson, Willie Lanier, Otis Taylor, Patrick Mahomes Lions: Bobby Layne, Alex Karras, Billy Sims, Barry Sanders Patriots pre-2000: Gino Cappelletti, Steve Grogan, John Hannah, Nick Buoniconti Washington: Sammy Baugh, Sam Huff, Joe Gibbs, Billy Kilmer/Joe Theismann Also, the '63, '76, '78, '85, '86, and '96-'98 Patriots would like to have a word with the people who think that the Patriots weren't anything before 2001.
Replace OJ with Thurman and you have a way more iconic Rushmore. Seriously, it would be four HoFers that played on the same team and made it to four straight Super Bowls together. They’re so iconic in Buffalo. Not the murderer OJ that played on shitty Bills teams. That Mount Rushmore would look great next to Niagara Falls.
I would maybe put the browns ahead of the G Men or Dolphins. I mean their Mt. Rushmore comes with: Paul Brown- Maybe greatest coach ever Otto Graham- Top 5 QB all time Jim Brown- Possibly the GOAT Joe Thomas- One of the greatest tackles ever
Colorado native and lifetime Broncos fan here. You could make an argument for them to be at #10 or so. Unfortunately, Elway is underrated, Miller is still playing, and I think Davis had not made the Hall by the time this was released.
Sure thing. But going back to what one of them said in this video, that there could be 4 Mount Rushmores for the 49ers alone. I wonder what his thoughts would have been on whom? Eddie DeBartolo and Steve Young, for sure. Who would be the other 10 players/coaches? Y.A. Tittle? Joe Perry? Jimmy Johnson? John Henry Johnson? Hugh McElhenny? Leo Nomellini? Dave Wilcox? Bob St. Clair? Fred Dean? Bryant Young? All of these guys are in the NFL HoF.
I like how they didn't have anyone say anything good about the Patriots. For Brady, it was just the narrator in the background. They spent half the segment hating on John Hannah, a quarter of it making Gronk seem like an idiot, and then split the rest making fun of Belichick's scowl and Brady's dimple.
I believe all 32 franchises should be on an extended list, with the Cleveland Browns, the Baltimore Ravens(/Colts if you are from the city), and the Cleveland/LA/St. Louis Rams in the top 10. Further, a separate/honorary 33rd Mt. Rushmore could go to the city of St. Louis for the Cardinals in 1960-1987 and the Rams in 1995-2015 (as a tip of the hat).
Joe Montana is often criticized for being just an extension of Bill Walsh. But Joe's comeback game in 1989 against the Eagles really shows what he was made of. I don't think there's any modern day QB who could have made that comeback.
my favorite line, "I don't think he knew he was playing Tom Brady, I don't even think he knew he won". lol

You could make an argument for Reggie White being on the Packers Mount Rushmore because without him Farve doesn’t have a super bowl ring. He’s arguably the greatest defensive linemen of all time. Overall I think the list was very good and they got number 1 correct.
I was wondering if anybody else noticed or thought that. White should have been on there.
I thought he'd be there. I didn't think they'd put Starr there. I agree with the final four, though...Reggie did leave in the middle of his career.
Played more years and had better numbers for another team.

So true 👏
The Cleveland Browns NEVER been in a superbowl....CASE CLOSED!!!!!!!!
Agreed. It was ridiculous to see these know-nothings pretend that the Browns didn’t deserve a spot on the list...and I’m a Giants fan

Dan Marino would have won a Super Bowl if the defenses and running games around him were better.
+Harry Engel I know, right?
He would of won a few if the terry Bradshaw didn’t lie about his shoulder surgery that he had done over the offseason and payed a doctor to do it under a fake name, the Steelers where gonna draft dan. It’s a shame dan would have a few rings and Steelers would of had 8 or 9 by now
What if Marino played in 72
Maybe if they focused on building the defense up really well during that time, but Marino hated to hand the ball off.
And? So would alot of qbs
Harry Engel him too, though he doesn't rank as high at his position all time as Deacon Jones for example.
Isaac Bruce should prob have a spot somewhere. Marshall and Dickerson were amazing, but that's already 2 backs on a Mt. Rushmore.
The Rams History sucks ........at least to make it in the top ten...
CANT FORGET MERLIN OLSEN! I’d put the rams Mount Rushmore in over the patriots
Jackie Slater, Jack Youngblood, Merlin Olsen. Also Bob Waterfield and Norm Van Brocklin.
You guys should do a list of top 10 NFL Lore moments (e.g. Joe Montana's John Candy thing)
I like that idea. That list could be at least a top 20 countdown.
The Colts tho:
“Fast forward fifty years and the story played out again for the same franchise.”
You forgot to add “only it was MUCH, MUCH better”
I’m cool with them all
Unitas was ahead of his time. Manning was just the best QB out at the time; and maybe not even that *Brady.
That's because it wasn't much much better.
Marcus Allen was the NFL version of the Human Highlight Film!

Now, Skeeter, he ain't hurtin' nobody.

@John Koziol I'm sure that thumbs down really hurts, you find that hack funny which means you still get to take the L
These guys could make a top 10 list for literally anything and I mean literally anything and I would be interested and I would watch it
For the Patriots I would have to add Vinatieri, he kicked two superbowl winning field goals.

Tittle, Hugh McElhenny, Joe “the Jet” Perry, RC Owens, etc...but all anyone talks about are the same media golden boys
Just like the Cowboys had great, legendary players before the 90s dynasty.
And don't get me started on Darren Woodson! And how could I forget Everson Walls! Man lead the league interceptions three different times and is one of only two players in history to do that!
And yes totally agree about Chuck Howley I mean he was the first defensive player to be named Super Bowl MVP for Christ's sake!
@@ashleighelizabeth5916 And Chuck remains the only player from the losing team to win the Super Bowl MVP Award. He refused to accept the car that he won.
Btw, the players you mentioned...all great, especially Martin and Jones.
Some trivia that you probably already know. At SB VI the writers wanted to name Duane Thomas as the MVP but were afraid of how he would react so they gave the award to Staubach.
One more thing. Maybe Don Mededith for the Hall?
@@yourroyalhighness7662 I always heard that everybody thought Bob Lilly should get the MVP but that they didn't want to give it to a defensive player two years in a row.

damn, watching Lott highlights was a treat you dont see in today's NFL
Bears mountain should have Ditka. He pretty much invented the modern tight end position, and coached their lone SB win. Singletary was maybe the third best linebacker on the famous Bears team.
Bills: Jim Kelly, OJ Simpson, Bruce Smith, Andre Reed
@Rowdy Jr. it was either thomas or Reed. It was a tough decision
@@CSaw92 I'll take Thomas
Ok so I thought in-depth about this. The Bills firstly should be on this list, as their Rushmore is soooo much stronger than most teams on here. There are two options:
Kelly, Thurman, Bruce, OJ (would love to include Andre/Levy but neither was as good as the guys I did include)
Or:
Kelly, Thurman, Bruce, Marv/Ralph Wilson (if you’re punishing OJ...if you aren’t punishing OJ, he is always on the Mount Rushmore for the Bills).
Thomas was NFL MVP in 1991. I love Andre, but he was never in the discussion for MVP, ever, period, ever.
Rowdy Jr. Nope, OJ was better
Great point. Also Marion Motley for the Cleveland Browns!
Ravens already have a mount Rushmore to be proud of, they all played together at the same time
Ray Lewis
Ed Reed
Johnathan Ogden
Terrel suggs.
Dont know I'd consider them a top ten Rushmore yet, I'm just a ravens fan reminiscing on the good times
If they had ever had a stud QB along with Lewis, Reed and Ogden they’d be around 8th or ninth best Mount Rushmore
They aren't
Ray Lewis
Ed Reed
Jonathan Ogden
Lamar Jackson
I just watch this whole video and I must say that these are indeed very solid mount rushmores. Especially number one.
Vikings....Grant, Page, Tarkenton, Moss
Stefon Diggs just for the Minneapolis miracle
Don't forget Peterson

LT changed the game. That man should be every single NFL mount rushmore.
How are the Browns not number 1 let alone not even make the list. WOW. Paul Brown. Jim Brown. Otto Graham. Leroy Kelly. Ozzie Newsome. Joe Thomas. Lou Groza. Paul Warfield. Dante Lavelli and the list goes on. The Browns has as rich of history as any team in NFL history. CMON MAN
Not to mention Bernie Kosar, too. Took the Browns to the AFC Championship a few times.
Maybe because they are the league's second worse team since the Super Bowl era
I'd argue Herschel Walker should be on the Cowboys Mt. Rushmore for the fact that his trade made the Cowboys a dynasty, and brought in both Aikmen and Smith, among others.

I think it has to be John Hannah bc he’s the greatest guard ever and he was the main reason they had any success prior to the 1990s
I would've thought Urlacher would've been on the Bears Mt Rushmore by now.
100 years of history and 28ish HOFer, they have too many greats
Honestly, no disrespect, but I would have put an old school player instead of Singletary. Maybe Luckman, Nagurski, or Grange.
What a bunch of idiots and a complete lack of respect for the charter franchise of the NFL. the 49ers would of been the first team to 3peat if roger Craig didn't fumble in the 1990 NFC championship. joe Montana got hurt in that game and steve young came in. all they needed to go is hold the ball and they would have won. and its really unfair to Roger Craig.
