I absolutely love this set, I just can’t stop watching it. Normally I dislike Sonic play as I feel it boils down to just three or four moves repeatedly, but this was just amazing. Both players were able to space so well and pulled off so many little tricks that make their characters at least somewhat interesting to watch. Watching Elegant slowly get scratched away while he went in for powerful combos just feels great to watch, and the ending just feels almost poetic. The best Sonic player in the world ultimately being defeated in time out, by a character that just gets beat into the ground by a lot of people, nerfed heavily, but still planting insane damage in his combos. At the end of the day, I have to give huge props to both players. I will always love watching Elegant play, both on the screen and in his reaction cams, and watching that boy pop off just brought tears to my eyes. Ken played very effectively, but at the end of it all, Elegant pushed through. Well played to both.
DarCrest_SSB4 I mean I would believe you if you said Luigi lost but whenever I think of -2 I think of ZSS, AKA 70-30. Sonic barely wins neutral but only if he spaces spin dash close enough to punish fireball but far enough to avoid jab, which is a strict spacing. With platforms, Luigi wins the MU. Luigi does have a really hard time killing Sonic if he camps though, since it's hard to punish spin dash and it's impossible to punish recovery other than getting a 2 frame cyclone spike and giving sonic his jump back (no sonic with MU experience would die)
zackolot yes but Luigi is also extremely slow and for the record does not win neutral. Sonics speed is extremely overpowering in the MU and can get him out of a lot of situations. Also his up b is frame 3 with invincibility on the first few frames which can break out of some combos.
DarCrest_SSB4 well fireball and/or jab wins neutral unless sonic plays his spacing correctly. Sonic theoretically wins neutral for free against everyone except for characters that can stop his spin dash, like Diddy and Luigi, where he has to change his spacing and approach. Luigi doesn't counter Sonic as hard as Diddy though and loses if the Sonic knows the MU
AnimeGURU475 ... Sounds like you've been hurt. Sonic is just doing what he can. Being campy is the best style for Sonic or else he'll get punished too often for being overly aggressive. In the new game tho, SSBU, Sonic can be more aggressive and I think it's good because he can finally play like the hedgehog he is. At least that's what I heard idk

Chillava lol elegant is very good at teching, but definitly not the best. I think the best is ranai because i NEVER see ranai missing a tech, and i see that elegant sometimes misses techs in some random sets. Also the japanese players in general are very good at teching

Chillava i disagree with "ALL top players are good at teching" because if you use a character that has a hitbox in his Up b, really not is a requirement. For example, all the times that i see Ally hets hit over stage and having the oportunity to tech, hi misses it. The same with Salem, etc

Grant the Dragon Up air off the top on the side could’ve killed, or a dair. Reminds me of when Dabuz killed mr.r off the top in the last 2 seconds of the game, mr r was only at 10% while dabuz was at 150%, never give up.
Charles Jones sonic doesn't have that many potent moves. Even with rage, his up air still has small base knock back and can only scale up with damage. Dair doesn't spike I believe.

Elegant timing out KEN is one of Smash 4s highlights. Winning a -2 MU in the most ironic way possible

zackolot Luigi definitely loses the MU. It's at least 55:45 for Sonic, maybe even 60:40 for campy ones. Trust me it's worse than you think.

Sonic has a strong camping game, but to make up for that his approach game is crap, which is why he's susceptible to being camped himself.
