    Nice!! Only thing I see I would do different would have the bathroom door open out separating the front of the camper while stepping out from the bath into the bedroom

      Right!? So many makers don’t think about this. We love our split bath with a functional privacy door across the hallway.

    It's really hard to comprehend why I would pay $204k for this when you could get the real deal Winnebago Ekko for $207. Of course these are msrp prices, since there is not any Jayco Granite Ridge's on the market yet, its hard to make a real apples to apples comparison. However, I do find a few 2024 Ekko's, and as is usual RV Dealers giving only a paltry $10k or so off on lot units, I don't see how you'd want to buy either one of these. However, the innovative features of the Ekko compared to what Jayco is throwing down here, this msrp pricing defies any logic I can find. This is just a price gouge on behalf of the manufacturer and dealer hoping to cash in on people who want an Ekko but don't want to wait for an Ekko. Not to mention all these units are put together with staples and glue. I'll stick with our Campervan thank you. On another note, attention RV Dealers. The Pandemic is over, if you don't want to end up with a lot full of units that end up going to auction for pennys on the dollar you'd better pull your head out and start thinking about pre-pandemic discounts.

      So many quality related issues with the Ekkos on Youttube. But I'm curious....what are you seeing as worse from this one, vs the Ekko?

      Dealer lots are already overflowing. Prices should be coming down dramatically by November.

      This already has the pricy suspension upgrades and tires that would add 10k or more to the Ekko.Also has a better heating system snd likely a quieter A/C. Jayco may be a Thor product, but Winnebago has dropped the ball on Ekko quality.

    • @rayswiney7398
      @rayswiney7398 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Slightly used Ekko's popping up lately for 149000$ Once you get past the Balmar charging system issue the Ekko is fine. I pd 160 for mine , had it a year problem free aside from the Balmar. If Jayco is owned by Thor, I would pass. Been there.

    • @arisdaddy2001

      I really like the cassette toilet, no more stinky slinky. With a giant gray tank, on many trips I would just water my grass with the gray water. The Ekko owner sites are all positive about the cassette.

      Having used that same cassette toilet for over two years (on a different RV), I can tell you it’s fabulous. For two people, it last about 4-5 days and you can empty it anywhere: latrines, rest stops, port-a-Jon’s, regular dump stations, McDonalds, and your own home toilet. Very convenient!

    • @FEARNoMore
      @FEARNoMore ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It's an almost an exact replica of the Ekko. lol

    • @Dana-.-
      @Dana-.- ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@FEARNoMore- The Ekko is Euro inspired. Look at the Hymer MLT 580 as an example. Very common in Europe, just new to the USA.

    • @FEARNoMore
      @FEARNoMore ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Dana-.- All RV's are "inspired" by what's popular regardless what country it's from but Jayco straight up just copies the most popular rigs EXACT floor plans. 😅 The Jayco Terrain is an EXACT ripoff of the Revel. The Jayco Swift is an EXACT ripoff of the Winnebago Travato and this Jayco Granite Ridge is just another example of how Jayco just copies exact designs and floor plans but for a lower price point and sadly lower quality parts.🤷‍♂

    • @Dana-.-
      @Dana-.- ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @FEARNoMore - I like some of the Jayco differences (rear window, door window, L shaped lounge, sink on the left, allowing full depth drawers and counter space, and the lower placed refrigerator). I like the fan above the seating area on the Ekko better, having 2 propane bottles, the batwing awning, the separation in the shower and the 3 years of tested product in use. Personally, I believe competition is good for consumers like you and I. Product quality will hopefully go up while prices come down, and we will get a variety. Something for everyone, in every market and price point. Maybe you have an Ekko, or an anything but a Jayco. Whatever you have, happy camping.

    Beautiful rig that ticks a LOT of our boxes. We are looking for a summer travel rig to replace our older Class C. Fantastic tank sizes!! But PLEASE...always state the CCC of the rig when you do a walkthough! What is the CCC on this one? I'm sure it's not fantastic as it has a lot of features and substance so weight is probably close to the GVWR. I would replace the cassette with a "Composting" toilet - like the amazing Separette Tiny unit. Solar? Lithium?

    • @Patrick_Ross
      @Patrick_Ross ปีที่แล้ว

      Solar: 360w
      Lithium: 3,900wh

    • @retiredandroaming
      @retiredandroaming ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@Patrick_Ross Thanks, I saw that in the description after I posted, but nowhere is the CCC...not even on Jayco's website specs. This tells me the story.....it's likely unusable for me.

      A mostly improved Ekko. They need to figure out a more sophisticated bath. Ekko bath wins, Wingamm is even better.

    • @arisdaddy2001
      @arisdaddy2001 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      They should have chosen the available smaller doghouse cover. I hope the spare is underneath and the optional 31 gallon fuel tank. Overall, i think they should have gone a foot longer and done a better bath. Apart from the bath, this is an Ekko beater.

    “I know what you are, but what am I?” Initial impressions on Differentiations from EKKO: Pro: Lounge seats instead of uncomfortable, skinny 3-point. This mimics #1 @ThefitRV. Cons: 1) Would have been a great opportunity for Black Tank. 2) Need more Cow Bell (Lithium.) 3) Jayco Granite is a rookie, while EKKO is on year three.

    Nice except the window shades and screens are ass backwards. You want the screen to come down from the top and the shade up from the bottom. That way you can have air flow and privacy at the same time. Look at the NuCamp tab line of teardrops which show the correct European windows.

    This is a pretty egregious Ekko rip-off, but one of the few changes they made that would be an immediate dealbreaker for me is the removal of the jumpseats with 3-point harness seat belts in the passenger compartment. So with this model there is no safe way to carry any additional passengers.

  • @talleysartstudio
    @talleysartstudio 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

    What's the towing capacity in the hitch? The engine is a 350 so I'm sure it can handle 2500lbs. But the hitch is
    my concern.
    It definitely resembles a mix between the Ekko and the Leisure Van RTB. But the price is about $50k cheaper.
    I see why they jumped on that model.
    For me, the bath could have an option with a pull-out vinyl or plastic accordion door. I think that the wood door takes up weight in the coach.
    My final question is the seams.
    Did they fix the real problem in the seams? Jayco is notorious for leakage.
    In my last Jayco (2014) I had to fiberglass the seals. They do get loose with time.
    Oh yeah, the frame and floor. Is it real wood or the press wood garbage? For $147k it would suck to find out they used cheap materials.

    Great overview video. However, the shades are crazy and should be reversed. The night shade should come up from the bottom so you can have full privacy if you want some ventilation. The day shade should come down from the top. Don't the designers think of these things?! No wonder the industry is having problems.

    I keep comparing these class c rvs to my northern lite 10-2 dry bath truck camper n my ram dually truck. I have a residential size sink and counter space. I have a 3 way fridge much bigger! N I have separate freezer space. I have a wet bath where my shower floor is separate from my toilet floor(very handy for a 5lb dogs pee pad on miserable days.) The only thing great on this rv in comparison above my setup is I love the bike back storage n 3 ways to get into it lol. Otherwise im still waiting for a class c to blow me away lol. 🍻

    I purchased the Granite Ridge 22t and it has had nothing but issues, including a defective water pump and circuit. Electrical outlet in galley doesn't work with the induction burner that comes with the RV. The heater stopped working when we were boondocking. The list goes on and on. It has been a nightmare trying to get the issues fixed. We are full time van lifers and it has been a major disruption to our lives and it has cost more money having to keep going to different Camping World locations to get it looked at. It took the technician an extended amount of time to find the water pump circuit board. Now we have to go back to have diagnostic paperwork filled out. If approved, we will then have to wait even longer to get the pump replaced. What a major pain in the butt. Don't waste your money on this RV.

      The advantage of a black tank vs cassette is in the dumping. With the black tank you hook up a hose to the tank, then put the hose into the septic receptical. You pull the gate open and let gravity do the draining. You can flush the hose with your gray tank water. Put the cleaned out hose away. With a cassette you have to carry your waste to a toilet or sewer recepticle. You are pouring that raw sewage out of the casette with your face and nose pretty close. It can be nasty

      @@joniboulware1436 A cassette can be dumped at any rest area or toilet. Black tank dumping is not as convenient and often involves paying a fee.

    Low back "booth" seating is just plain uncomfortable. That and it's not road legal (seatbelts). A kitchen without gas stove top makes boondocking tough.. but I do like the outdoor kitchen. Solar is a must as is at least one Lithium battery (two better). Ekko has this style nailed, (especially the bathroom and batteries) but they're also full of issues that Winnebago seems slow to address (feeling sorry for so many of those folks). I hope the industry continues this direction as it's what we're really hungry for these days (hence the long waiting line for the Ekko). But... over 200K?! Come on guys... you need to come back to where Ekko started ($160K) and drop down from there. RV construction still sucks.. love it or leave it.

    I like the paint job more than the echo. Everything else is a carbon copy so I guess the price and quality is gonna be the difference.

    I’ll keep my Tiffin Midas 24RT on a Ford Transit AWD chassis, because it has a regular bathroom and toilet (but less tank capacity).

    There’s a lot to like. But I can’t take my eyes off of how crooked/warped the bathroom door is, lol. How does this stuff get past Quality Control? Should’ve mentioned it is a 3.5 V6 eco-boost along with that all wheel drive. And mentioned how many forward gears in the transmission…

    You know what I don't understand about R.vs? Why do they all have a multi tone paint job with branding on the outside? It just screams hi I'm an RV. Why not a nice single color paintjob without the branding?

    I love the Ford Transit. Not so sure I could deal with a cassette toilet and wet bath. But that being said, this is the first class C I think I could go for since it’s me and 2 Schnauzers. Will have to watch the Granite for a while to see what the trouble spots are and how well Jayco deals with customer issues. Right now I have a travel trailer and a wonderful dealer with a fantastic service department. They do not carry Jayco and that is another huge drawback for me. I need to have a dealer I can trust and small family owned with a great manufacturer relationship is the only way to go for me. The Jayco dealers in my area are not reliable when it comes to service after the sale and I don’t need that kind of drama in my life.

    This looks like a great unit but the cassette toilet is a deal breaker. I do love the induction cooktop for the extra countertop space.
