I have to admit, you are extraordinarily skilled in drawing sketches. That's because you don't even have to change the position of the paper while drawing. I wish l could do that.
I have seen other pros draw, and they move the paper around.

      Hey Richard -
Good to hear from you again. Thank you for the kind words. Regarding moving the paper all around while drawing, I do this as well. If you do it on camera though, it makes for a very jarring viewing experience. So I refrain from doing it during the filming so the viewing experience is a positive one for the person watching.
I also don't move the paper around during my one-on-one classes with my students for the same reason. It's much harder to draw this way, especially drawing objects as complex as cars in perspective. But like with anything else, you have to practice. I think the experience of the page remaining still while trying to teach something was well worth the time and effort it took to get good at it. I hope other viewers of these videos across the channel agree. If so, please leave a comment letting me know. Thanks again to you for appreciating it.

@@howtodrawcars. You are absolutely welcome. Your sketching skill did not go unnoticed. I have seen other pros sketching, and they turn the drawing around. But you don't do that, so that makes you a rare breed among designers.
I know drawing that way is hard, because l tried it myself. And by the way, watching your tutorials greatly increased my sketching speed. And anytime l slow down, l just watch one of your videos again to pick-up speed.

I am glad to hear the tutorials have been helpful to you. While speed is important, clarity is also important. Getting your ideas down quickly can be a asset but should not come at the expense of the idea itself.

@@howtodrawcars. Yes indeed. I don't sacrifice quality for speed. But rather, speed motivates me to add more details.

Sounds good. I just launched a new lower cost, email tutoring program that you might find beneficial. You can check out the details here - howtodrawcars.net/home/#plans
I think a program like that, getting feedback about your work, could really take your skills to the next level very quickly. Either way, it's always good to talk to you.

Hey Michael, great video and content. I think you mentioned entering a state of flow in your Udemy course. How to enter this state and can a group collectively enter it or is it just an individual thing.

I'm always talking about getting your lines to flow across the page but looking back on all the projects I have done, there is a "zone" you can get into when you're really trying to come up with something new. Song writers and athletes talk about it all the time as well. I don't think there is a right or wrong way to get there. I was given a book called "Creative Visualization" by a girlfriend when I was a teenager. That book gave me a process to follow. I would start with that. Let me know how it goes. Regarding groups, I'm not a big joiner of groups so I would not know. For me, groups tend to be very surface level experiences where the flow state is a very personal and private one. But then again, some of the greatest songs of the 20th century were written by song writing teams. With groups, it depends on the energy between those involved. Some people you just click with. Thanks for the question.

Check this video on the channel - th-cam.com/video/iB2U3q06SzM/w-d-xo.html
At the end of the day, all you need is a large sheet of paper and a decent, soft lead pencil. If you can draw using the right technique, the materials are secondary. If you're truly interested in alleviating your confusion, we have 2 new tutoring options available.
You can check them out here - howtodrawcars.net/home/
Maybe one is right for you to take your work to the next level and make your confusion a thing of the past.
