Have the mics facing at the center of the drums for more of the attack and less overtones, Bass drum mics inside are placed almost in front of the batter head with a pillow, and the overheads placed at the same height and width apart. For mixing, I recommend investing on a plug in collection called Waves SSL 4000. It's pricey but worth it!
