Couch to 5k changed my life!!! Enjoy!! I remember the first time I ran for 4 minutes straight I cried of joy - last year I ran a half marathon! One day at a time and the progress will come! Have fun! ❤
Running laps was always a "punishment" for me growing up as a competitive dancer. I had plenty of stamina but hated running so much. I never in my life wanted to start running for enjoyment lol. But when i had my son, i really struggled with wanting to get back in shape and having no equipment, no babysitters, no gym access, and no group classes i could afford in my rural town. My body was literally begging me to move. And one day i looked outside at my roundabout driveway and thought, "you have that. You're fortunate to have that. Use that." Once i started running, it was such a liberating feeling. Almost like taking my health back into my control despite allll the excuses i had been making to not do it. I didnt need anything but for myself to show up and do it. I'm pregnant again now and have taken a break due to some complications but i am so looking forward to getting back at it one day!
I’ve commented this before but just for anyone who may need it.. running (I run slow, I run/walk) so “running” lol really was a huge benefit for me. It gives me a goal that’s not “be smaller”. Like a true breath of fresh air
Great job! I got myself back to running again by using my Peloton treadmill. I got it in 2020 and I’m still obsessed with it. I don’t like the overhead of having to run outside, plus heat, cold, bugs, etc. 😂 I was able to run 5 miles at a 10 minute pace on Thanksgiving at a turkey trot . I’m excited for you!
Started the couch to 5k and was so excited! Then found out I'm pregnant and have to stop and to a couch to walk (lol) because I'm high risk! Hoping to do this challenge once I am postpartum. Love all your content!
I’m also a breastfeeding mama! And yeah just wanted to say get some good tight bras for running. And it does help to get fitted at a running store for shoes. They fit you for free and give you options. I thought I was a size 9 but after having my baby I’m now a size 10..😂 I love following along with you on your journey!
I'm a plus size girlie who loves running! I recommend going to a running store and at least get fitted so you know what features to look for, and then you can shop around for good but not super expensive shoes. There's different shapes and features you wouldn't think matter but they do

There are some super fun virtual 5k's where proceeds go to various charities, and you get shirts and medals! Super fun, can do it anywhere/anytime and it helps charities! I'd definitely recommend checking it out!
Annette Pointer mentioned going to get fitted for running shoes. I did this at Fleet Feet and they do a great job of doing different tests and giving you options based on your own personal results. The fitting is completely free and they can also help with tips (free) and running groups as part of their training programs.

When you first announced you were doing the couch to 5k on instagram, I had just been thinking that morning how I want to get back to running 5ks again so it was like a sign 😆 I used to run half marathons and ran about 10 miles daily but got injured then suffered some medical problems but am starting to do better. I would have to take the training really slow (like each day as a week) but I’m excited to get back to it! Running was my favorite in college and I want to be able to do it again.

Despite that my body doesn’t look like an typical runner and that I don’t run very fast. I still feel like an athlete and running makes me so accomplished, I set goals. Loved the vlog! :) I'm toward the end of couch to 5k, it's so nice to see you do it too! In the first few weeks I was fully singing (Taylor Swift) the whole time during my runs, it really helped me breathe correctly, which can be tough when learning to run. Also, unrelated, do you not wear specific breastfeeding-friendly outfits? I've heard many new moms talk about how they had to wear specific tops / dresses to be able to breastfeed, is it not an issue for you?

Next time you could try using google lens to take a pic of something you want and it will show you where to buy online. I did it with someones shoes the other day! Time saver!!
Hey sierra ! Love your content. I am a physiotherapist specialized in sports therapy, and be really careful with running with overweight / obesity. It can hurt your knees so bad. And secondly, be mindful that running ( cardio training in general ) is really bad for PCOS. Cardio elevated your cortisol, with creates stress on your body and creates even more insuline résistance. So basically it makes you “gain” weight. With PCOS, we recommend slow training like Pilates, and strength training to fix your hormones :)! Cardio training with PCOS can be great ONLY if you already regulated your hormones ( with inositol and all, hormonal drink… or medically ). Love you !

Please go to a running store and get fitted for shoes. You will save your feet and knees etc…

she definitely doesn't just wake up with perfect hair...as someone with curls, it takes a bit of effort to refresh it in the morning
If I sleep with a bonnet on, I can usually just shake my curls out the next day with minimal effort

I did the couch to 5k three time since 2020 I love that app. Had a baby in 2021 started over after and it got me back on track with exercise
I did a mileage challenge one summer (500 miles in 3 months!) and it really helped to fully ignore how fast I'm going. Running slow is still running!
