I’m giving you another view from Egypt on this one. I have seen a Transporter that was two tone orange over cream and looked pretty sweet but that might be limited appeal - orange isn’t everybody’s cup of tea. Another great video btw pal

@@YTDTETV LOL I must be an older gentleman then. It could be modernised by going with pearlescent cream and pearlescent tangerine colours. It’s 38 degrees here is Sharm El Sheikh so would be too hot for spannering even in your DTE Sliders!

As for the colour scheme, I was thinking if it's going to be used for camping trips, maybe a solid pale light blue bottom half with a white top. Sort of reminiscent of the 60/70s VW camper colour schemes.

No problem this is a really interesting project as the 130 engine is so tuneable as well and very often on T5 forums there hasn't been much to go on as to how to do this so big up to you for doing this

I totally agree with your comments, one thing that i did hear was that the oil filter housing was a problem clearly not as yours has slotted in perfectly, the limiting factor with power is the 5 speed box and small clutch, my old 1.9 was mapped from 105 to 130 ish and that was about as much as the clutch could take (increase in torque as well), if you go 6 speed then it's way better for more grunt, however not all speed boxes fit ( i don't think the car ones do) but the early t5.1 do allegedly!
There is 2 types of pd130 the more common one has the large oil filter and the other one is from the Skoda fabia it has the tucked in oil filter. Your right about the box’s and I’m not going for big power I just want it to go alright and breath happy with reliability. Thanks pal 👍

Hey Al ye slightly gutted about the pulley but with the front end off still it’s not to bad, £25 wasted but my error so will just stick it on the shelf, not the type to send it back if it’s my fault. That’s why my workshop is full of crap 😂. Hopefully my little tips help people it’s the little things in jobs that make the end result better. Thank you as always 👍

Hey Phillip haha that made me chuckle 😂 yep approved DTE sliders as soon as the weather picks up, kent has been cloudy for over a week 😩. Yep pulley was annoying but the front end is still off so not to bad it’s just another £25 it’s my fault I ordered it. Always appreciate your comments mate 👍👍
Great video I see you had to reset the clutch I've just had my gearbox replaced but clutch as it has only done 30k mile but is slipping now 2 weeks after gearbox replacement should it have been reset cheers great work
Hi James thank you, yes re using a clutch is perfectly fine but these clutches need resetting as soon as the bolts are done up the first time and clutch depressed it self adjusts. Some people don’t know this unfortunately, did the garage remove your clutch? If they didn’t it should be ok but if they did then they should have reset it. I would ask if they removed it? If they did you can then reply was the preside plate reset because they need resetting anytime it’s unbolted. Hopefully you can get this resolved without paying anymore money.

Hey Richard, have you got air con? If not there’s more room. It wernt to bad, front bumper off intake pipe off and you can just squeeze in there with a gun of some sort 👍
Hey bud just a few days, had to wait for some bits to be sandblasted but I have them now, still the same map on the van and it runs well but improvements can be had with a map 👍
One thing you haven't mentioned yet, and I'm interested because I'm putting an ASZ in mine, did it fire up and run straight away without any remap? I've been told they run badly until remapped for the pd130 injectors
Hey jay, yes it’s still running the original map on the pd130 injectors, it seems to run fine. I’ve only driven it to the end of the road but it’s running fine. Thank you
I hate changing those door runners. My dog's hair kill one of these every couple of years. Never grease the track or runner - get it clean and dry. Open the door right up, then put a block/stand under it to hold it while undoing the grub screws and retaining block.
Never mind the planet, those diesel emissions kill people, especially children with breathing issues. I was enjoying your build series but now disappointed in you.
Hey glen sorry you feel this way, I watch a lot of stuff on here about climate change and emissions/air quality. It’s definitely a problem for the later generation and I have small children that I want to be able to live healthy lives. This catalytic converter was overdue being replaced as the build up of carbon inside the new engine was massive, i do add a small amount of humour to the videos for entertainment purposes but I can understand it may come across in the wrong way. I will be replacing more parts of the exhaust later in the series so hopefully I can re gain your attention towards the Channel.

Ahhm, I am not looking forward on mine to replace the alternator pulley. Looks like a lot of work to get to it once the front is on the van.
