Perfect, thank you so much. I was able to pass after using this video to revise. For anyone requiring support for FS LEVEL 2 in English, this video is all you need ❤
God bless you to you indeed a great teacher you have explained vividly and am very optimistic that l will pass my next attempt with the level ,2,, English after listening to you ,thank you sir
Thank you so much. You are really a good teacher and you helped me to go and get 28 points from only one essay compared with what I was getting before😊😊😊😊😊
So glad you have found it useful. If you are struggling with the Reading exam (it is legitimately hard) then please take a moment to watch my series on the tricky questions.
Hi, thanks for the comment. Type of text = persuasive, informative, descriptive, instructive but can also refer to leaflet, speech, essay, article etc. Style of text = personal/impersonal; tone of text = formal/informal. This all gets a bit confusing, even for teachers. I hope this helps a little.
@@oaktreeenglish8338 Hi again, Thank you for your explanation. Can you tell me which exam provider has easier exam level. I am studying for Functional English Skills level 2 and wondering if Open awards is easier than Edexel or it doesn’t matter?
Hi. Firstly, I give massive respect for taking this exam as an international student! It is very impressive. Secondly...READ THE QUESTION! You are being tested on your ability to read, that includes reading the instructions. Good luck and, if you can spare a moment, let the OTE community know if you pass.
1+1+1 x 2 = 6! 1 point of similarity eg. both are positive about chickens. 1 quote from text A eg. "Chickens are noble birds". 1 quote from Text B eg. "Chickens are delicious." Then do it again, eg. Both texts are negative about dinosaurs, Text A says they produced mountains of pooh and Text B says they would have eaten any humans and poohed them out. Does this help?
"Challenging" here means it presents challenges, one of which may include a lack of knowledge, but it is not an objective statement directly related to having a lot to learn. I agree, there is a degree of subjectivity in the mark scheme which presents "challenges". You can let them know I said that when you write to Edexcel to comment.
Hi Natalija, I'm so glad you enjoyed the video. I wish you all the best for your exam and I hope this goes a little way towards helping you achieve your goal.
I had my exam today. I was hoping its gonna be the same style. Mine was purely writing. No tick box at least. 4 marks most of the time. It's difficult. I concluded, I failed already.
I'm really sorry you are feeling disheartened. I hope you are wrong and you have got the marks you need. This video is specifically for the Edexcel paper, sounds like you might have had a City and Guilds paper? There are slight variations between the exam boards but they all test broadly the same skills. I wish you the very best on your next attempt if this was not 'your' time.
@@farmersdaughter8493 I'm genuinely sorry to hear that. Glad you've come back to try to see DAFOREST through DATREES. Sometimes the exam boards can give you a detailed breakdown of your exam, if you can identify which objectives were missed you can practice those skills individually. Let me know if you need any other videos to help.
Hi CyberDean, The boring answer is 22, but that is irrelevant because you are aiming for 100%. Aim at the moon and, even if you miss, you will land among the stars! You've got this, go and knock it out of the park!
Dace, I regretfully agree with you. This was an early video and I was only thinking of the content. I re-watched it with a class recently and was shocked how visually boring it is. The Level 1 version has similar content but is much more engaging. I recommend having a look at that.

Loved your explanations. I have a question, what is the difference between a type of text and style of text please?

Can you explain the similarity question in more detail please. The question worth six marks.
I failed FS English L2 exam twice by 1 mark.

Yes I am failed on this one too. thank you Sir. for your explanations.
'challenging' implies you have to know a lot, which implies there is a lot to learn
Marking system in those is flawed 29:20

There are max of 35 marks, how many do I need to pass the exam ? Thank you
