Thank you so much for your helpful lecture.
Thank you so much this video is really amazing.
Thank you so much it was the best explanation regarding the writing exam🥹
You are very welcome. I hope it helps you achieve your goals.
Thank you so much. I was trying for a long time to find a reading how to pass .❤❤❤
You're welcome. I hope it helps. Please share it with the rest of your class.
I passed my writing test😁thank you very much
Congratulations and well done. I'm glad to have helped in some small way, but the achievement is your own and you can feel rightly proud!
hello, I am nervous that i might not hear the audio text clearly and won't be able to answer the question. How can I prepare more for the Esol Level 2 exam? Sometimes the test asks me to write down a single word , and I'm afraid i might not catch it. Thank you for your videos, and I will try to learn to listen more carefully.
I presume you have done the practice papers, been watching BBC news and listening to my videos? Your ear should be attuned to English by now. It is the role of the invigilator to ensure that the audio is not distorted and you can hear it clearly, if not, say so! You've got this! Relax and enjoy the experience.
Can you tell me for how long you have to talk for the discussion.
10 minutes at L1, 15m at L2, depending on numbers of students in your group
@@oaktreeenglish8338 but how long each person have to talk for example if there is a group of 3 people? You just divide 10 min in to 3 right?
@ZeroSkar-ml7pk This is not a profitable direction of thought. Don't break it down like that, just resolve to speak and pass the discussion around the group, engaging and allowing it to reroute itself organically. This prescriptive way of thinking will distract you from the very thing that is being tested. Just go in and enjoy having a conversation.
Appreciate it
I appreciate your comment! Hope it helps
FANBOYS is an acronym for the coordinating conjunctions: For, And, Nor, But, Or, Yet, So. These conjunctions are used to connect words, phrases, or clauses of equal importance. When you use FANBOYS to join two independent clauses, you create a compound sentence. An independent clause is a complete thought with a subject and a verb. How to Create Compound Sentences with FANBOYS Write two independent clauses. Place a comma (,) before the coordinating conjunction (FANBOYS) that connects them. Examples of Compound Sentences: For: I didn’t bring an umbrella, for I thought it wouldn’t rain. And: She enjoys reading, and she loves writing poetry. Nor: He doesn’t like coffee, nor does he drink tea. But: I wanted to go for a walk, but it started raining. Or: You can have tea, or you can have coffee. Yet: He studied hard, yet he didn’t pass the exam. So: I was hungry, so I made a sandwich. Quick Tips: Always use a comma before FANBOYS when joining two independent clauses. If the parts being joined are not full sentences, you don’t need a comma: She enjoys reading and writing.
Thanks for this clarification
you are so hilarious, I am sure after watching this, I will pass my writing exam. It was really helpful. Thanks 🙏🏻
Thanks for your comment. I know I am hilarious, I tell myself, my wife and my daughter everyday. So far only I agree with myself! I wish you all the best with your exam.
Thank you so much. I have benefited from you a lot. I have a listening exam tomorrow, and I am prepared and ready."
I'm glad to have helped. Let me know if you pass your listening exam. Remember to relax for the speaking part...but not too much!
Thank you.
You're welcome!
Please use an auto volume control because your sound sometimes is low and sometimes is too high, so we have to increase and decrease it time after time. Thanks
You are absolutely right. Some videos are worse than others. I apologise for any loss of hearing from spikes in my audio.
Tomorrow is my listening exam, i am happy to find this video thank you teacher Caitlin williams it was good recommendation ❤ i wishing to do the best 😊
I hope you found this helpful and that you passed your exam. Pass my thanks to Caitlin Williams for having excellent taste in ESOL videos!
Off course its helpful thanks so much i wish you all the best 😊@@oaktreeenglish8338
Good explanation
Thanks, I hope it helps
Thank you for helping me pass Function Skills. Writing is in front of me. I think it is the worst one. England is my second language, I'm dialectic. You are helping me to prepare myself and I'm very grateful to you.
Writing can be challenging, even for native speakers. Respect for attempting it in a second language. Try my spelling strategies video
The last 10 second challenge had a hyper link too right?
Hi, I'm afraid not. There is a website listed but it can't be a hyperlink unless it is specifically online. It would also be in blue and underlined. What you saw was a reference and a website, but not a hyperlink. Sorry.

😀
These are the perfect avises for prepare me for my incoming exams. I feel gratefull with you and your chanel!! I going to wacht all you content. Huge thank you!!
What a lovely comment, thanks. I'm glad you find my content helpful. Please share it with your friends to help them too.

Hi, thanks for watching
Hi, in the end of the video you said that there are 4 types of questions Email, Report, Web Forum and Article. I was studying from the level 2 English functional skills and in the book the types of questions were Email, letter, articles, reports and leaflets. However there wasn’t anything about web forum, so can i please know all the types of questions that i can possibly expect to come in the exam? Thank you
You credit me with more knowledge than I possess. Only the examiners truly know what will be set, which is why you should prepare writing styles from all corners of the matrix.
❤❤❤jesus bless you ❤❤❤❤
Yes, he does!
I had to play this at 1.75 speed so I could bear it. Less humour, please!
Thanks for the feedback. I'm afraid I let my mouth run away with me a bit in these early videos. You'll find later ones are more scripted
Thank you Tim for this video !
You're welcome, thanks for watching!
Thank you so much
You are so very welcome! I hope it helps
keep going please
Thanks for the encouragement. I've had rather a lot on recently. I have a list of videos to make
Good vid
Thanks, I hope it helps
Amazing teacher, 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉😊
Thank you, a teacher is only as good as his students allow.
Thanks
You are welcome. I hope it helped
Hi. Do you have ESOL Entry 1 reading and writing assessment guides? Thanks very much
Hi Lorna, No, I'm sorry. I don't have E1 material at the moment
Thank you
You're very welcome. Thanks for watching
Hi Teacher I like your class, and a little bit when you explained to us that writing is distracting with your words coming late thanks.
Glad it helped. I hope you achieve your goals
Can you send us pdf that you using please
I recommend searching through past papers on passfunctionalskills.com to get a lot of good resources
Loved your explanations. I have a question, what is the difference between a type of text and style of text please?
Hi, thanks for the comment. Type of text = persuasive, informative, descriptive, instructive but can also refer to leaflet, speech, essay, article etc. Style of text = personal/impersonal; tone of text = formal/informal. This all gets a bit confusing, even for teachers. I hope this helps a little.
@@oaktreeenglish8338 Thank you so much ☺️
@@oaktreeenglish8338 Hi again, Thank you for your explanation. Can you tell me which exam provider has easier exam level. I am studying for Functional English Skills level 2 and wondering if Open awards is easier than Edexel or it doesn’t matter?
Distance learning hasn’t been easy . Thank you for the Videos
You're welcome. I hope you find them useful in attaining your goals.
My best TH-cam tutor. Do you do 1:1 lessons ?
Thanks for asking, I don't do 1:1 lessons, but I do teach in person at a college. Your best move would be to enrol in courses at your local college.
"Jesus wept." Nice, thank you
You're welcome, I like to bring the Bible into class.
'challenging' implies you have to know a lot, which implies there is a lot to learn Marking system in those is flawed 29:20
"Challenging" here means it presents challenges, one of which may include a lack of knowledge, but it is not an objective statement directly related to having a lot to learn. I agree, there is a degree of subjectivity in the mark scheme which presents "challenges". You can let them know I said that when you write to Edexcel to comment.
Funny how you read off the script, but you are not allowed to read of a script during the exam
I know, I'm such a hypocrite. The information remains correct I hope.
'foul' on question 9 should be 'fowl' - can you correct and re-issue? Otherwise, this is a great resource :-)
Oh bananas! Good spot. Eventually I will remake some of these videos and I'll correct it then. Thanks for pointing that out. Glad you find this video helpful otherwise.
Hello after I saw your video and used your advice thank I passed my exam yesterday. Thank you your advice was helpful
Well done, glad I could focus your mind so you could show your potential.
Am grateful for this Vedio
And I am grateful for your comment!
I have an exam today, I wonder how it will go
I hope it went OK. The key is to relax and just speak as you would to a friend.
Hii , im colombian living in Barnt green uk new here , i want to study english , do you know where can i apply to study english ? Thanks :)
There are some excellent FE colleges which do ESOL, FS or GCSE. Near Barnt Green I would recommend HoW College. Excellent teachers and good results.
Thankyou for a very helpful video.
You're welcome. I hope you find the content useful. If so, why not share it with others on your journey?
Informative, useful and funny! You are very good at teaching the English language, indeed.
Thank you, I hope you found it helpful. I love the English Language and I hope that comes across in this and also my poetry videos.
I’ve been studying English online for nearly two years now,but I barely speak when I go out for shopping or when using transportation if I need any assistance when asking for the directions or anything else ,however as I’m living with non English speakers I can’t make it to the advanced level, as a professional teacher what advice would you recommend me in order to achieve it to the highest level of English and ,looking forward to hearing from you thank you very much.
Living in the UK gives you amazing opportunities for practicing English, but that confidence can be tougher to acquire. I suggest joining a group you are interested in. For me that would be a local history group, debate club or church community but it would depend what you like. There is no substitute for getting out there, practicing and making mistakes. Most English people are pretty supportive of international speakers so just step out of your comfort zone for an hour or so and see where it takes you.
Hi
Hi, hope you are well and happy!
