My mother in law is 82 , unless we take her out she is virtually housebound. She hates not having cash in her purse and when in a taxi the other day she refused to use her card to pay in favour of cash. As for using Apps and online banking, no chance
I know right, pagers blowing up, hospitals getting blown up, people getting attacked and stabbed and now we have to put up with people not taking cash. Awful.
I have come across some cafes and restaurants that are card only, however they will accept cash for tipping. I do not use these establishments, I would rather go without their fare.
Thanks Katie. I always keep cash. With all the hostility in the world it wouldn't take a tech genius much trouble to shut down all the atm's. How long would people survive if they couldn't access money or use their cards? No-one would have imagine hundreds of pagers being sent a message and blowing up simultaneously before a few days ago. x
The "younger" generation will regret killing cash as they age. If you like Big Gov. deciding what you can do with YOUR money then you'll have no problem. Government can't wait to totally control what you do and when you do it. CBDC is what they long for.
Cash all the way. We are going on a Warners break and in the small print says it's cashless at the hotel. Also was going to book the Maidshead hotel Norwich but not now as cashless...
I know a cafe where if you pay in cash they ask the customer to put it in a bowl of cleaning solution before the staff will handle it. A legacy of the Covid hysteria no doubt.
I was in a small village shop in N.E. Scotland recently that makes a surcharge or anyone coming in and buying goods with a watch or phone. The sooner the rest of the UK does the same the better. I have boycotted IKEA for the same cashless crap and also their stance on global boiling which is ironic as they must have chopped down more trees in 70 years than any other company on the planet.
All the fast food joints now ask for donations to some charity. The last one asked if I wanted to give to a children's hospital to which I replied- " No, those kids tried to steal the radio from my car and that's how they ended up in the hospital"
I'm a market trader, we only take cash. A young girl wanted to buy something for £1 with her card!. The bank would take a % of that. We find it hard enough to make a living without paying the bank. Don't see them getting up at 4 in the morning standing in all weathers
Love kate ❤️ but next can you get on to tesco as they are letting us know we might be ordering unhealthy food and to much alcoholic beverages so no more barefoot wine for you my lovely 😢😢
Thank you you lovely people but this is so true what kates is saying thay need to know all about us so stay safe and think 🤔 could say a lot more but at the minute I can pay for my gas and electricity and have a dog 🐕 to look after me if that goes to shity then might put something else that will put me in jail just to keep warm and have 3 meals a day only have 2 at the minute 😀 😊
i was talking to a jet 2 stewardess in May on my way back from holiday to East Mids. They we trialing cashless but you could still use cash on this particular route at the time. She was saying it was cheaper for the company to be cashless as otherwise they have to pay the crew an extra hour pay to cash up after the flight. I got the impression the crew wanted to keep cash on flights.
Tesco have started to introduce cashless cafes, I think it might be the thin end of the wedge. I don't go there anymore and consequently don't do my shopping there. great move Tesco.
To an Anglo-Saxon cousin, im 38 soon, ive always been anti on-line banking myself, have and will keep using cash 💸 and cheque book for as long as possible!!
I must admit that I use the cashless thing to get out of donating to charites that I don't want to donate to. I just tell them that I don't carry cash any more. I do, but a couple of years ago I decided that I was only going to support small local charities like my town's hospice and a couple of local ran-on-a-shoestring animal charities. I have no interest in supporting the second home of some overpaid CEO of the larger charities.
Says someone using a smart phone or computer to post on an online site that can see where you are based in the UK, what your political affiliations are etc etc
It's not just operate without surveillance, what happens if the banking system is hacked or there is a mass coronal ejection which compromises the ATM's?
That appeal for cash is to rattle loose any spare "foreign" cash from your holidays in the sun..... that way it doesn't feel like you are giving them any "real" money....
As soon as things “crash” you realise how dependent they have made the sheep ….keep using cash …and businesses should offer discount for those that do …
Bakers in Whitby .... got my purse out to pay for 2 scones and miserable git behind the counter barks" card only" I declined and found a nice little tea shop cash only, I spent twice as much there and very nice it was too.
My main concern is how to survive all of these financial and political crisis, especially in light of the US political power scuffle. The government has really called things more difficult for its citizens, and we can't sit back and bear all the consequences of the bad governance.
I'm glad you made this video, I can recall when I was homeless and faced with many things in Life until $75,000 biweekly began rolling in and my Life went from A homeless nobody to a different person with good things to offer!!!!!!❤️
Wow😱 I know her too Angela Phyllis Martin is a remarkable individual who has brought immense positivity and inspiration into my life. Her unwavering wisdom have been invaluable assets, enriching my journey in countless ways.
We are going to a Warner's Holiday camp next week which is a cashless facility. No ,/ will sp end my beer money in a pub or buy from a supermarket instead. If being cashless means losing customers then so be it.
Cash never fails but technology does. I work in transport, it always makes me laugh inside when the app is not working or the card reader for some reason doesn't work. 9 times out of 10 it's user error. I.e the one using the card or phone. Lol
And what happens when the systems crash? At the supermarket last week, this happened No member of staff, including the manager, had a clue. Their solution, cash only. One problem, the sole cash machine (there had been, 2) outside the store, was out of order!
As we learnt after the Christchurch earthquake (NZ) in September 2010 - power was out and cash was king and very welcome. Natural disasters happen and now we keep a small stash of cash.
Katie what about us Americans we love you plus the Brian’s Americans are brothers and sisters in our fight for Freedom of Speech and stopping the government from interfering with our rights.
when the giant windows computer crashed a few months ago , slot of people were helpless If this is a need to keep cash, then I don't know what is,,even the Dover athletic for ground is cashless, but I got my chips free because of a faulty machine
Imagine EasyJet tracking you by making payments on a plane or paying for the flight cashless. I mean, no one knows you’ve booked the coach, taxi or car parking to get to the airport, nor does anyone tracking you know you used your Starbucks/Costa card to buy a coffee in the airport. Nor would anyone in Berlin know you were there as you wouldn’t have bought one thing with cards at all. Also I suppose Apple/Google/Samsung wouldn’t know you were there since the phone has tracking and of course, no one would know anyone was anywhere since no one fills X, Facebook, Insta etc with posts. So In all fairness, I would probably need to stop posting on TH-cam as they’ll be logging my location when I upload a video. But anyway, naught easyJet wanting to be cashless. Let’s face it, when we bought our new exciting phone, we all gave up our right to privacy didn’t we.
I walk out of all shops that refuse cash, but first telling the usual young rabbit head why....Utterly clueless....But it's so chic buy a coffee and Mars bar with a grands worth of phone produced for a tenner from rare materials dug by kids for a dollar 35 a day....Mute with ignorance...
Cash is king
Keep using cash people!!
shouldn't have to remind ....It's a legal right !!!!!!!!!!!
Cashless = Control
We need cash. I say boycott any entity that is cashless.
KEEP CASH FLOWING PEOPLE. 💚
I’m 88 no one’s ever taught me how to do banking on line .got no kids house bound I need cash .wat a bloody awful world we live in today ! !

Ahh someone deleted my comment. What’s going on In the world right now and it’s bloody awful as a company only takes card? Perspective!!!
Yeah, well said our girl Katie!!!
Two things that will make me walk away from an establishment: refusal to take cash,, and a Q.R code menu 😠
I went into a chippy the other day that only took cards. I will not be going back there.

Yes Kate how very odd these people are.

That's fair.......
Tax dodge.
Hey people, stop using your card to buy everything, use cash!!!

Well said Katie, infuriating that they don’t take cash, and sorry, but using COVID as an excuse in this day and age is no excuse.

Cash is a part of life and always have been the charity for Africa is a scam they keep it themselves

How are you ever going to get a plumber or builder without cash 😂😂
Unfortunately alot of plumbers, electricians etc ask for bank transfers when I offer cash.

Cheesy Jet should give people the choice. I make sure I use cash as much as possible, if we don't use it we'll lose it!

My hairdressers have now gone cashless so I don’t tip them as they will accept tips in cash it doesn’t make sense
Our dog groomer (£40 a time) won't accept anything but cash as they say cards cost too much.
We went to a Hotel in Harrogate that was ‘cashless’, but the bar staff wanted their tips in cash! Wonder why???

My favourite woman ever. Love ya lady❤❤❤❤. Cash is king I always pay in it x❤❤❤❤
Using cash makes our purchases that little bit more anonymous and helps stop 'them' taking full control.
When you have cash in your pocket you see the value (or lack of it ) as you spend, card transactions you don't.
