    The Turanic Raiders get such badass theme music for the faction that's just like. The closest thing to a joke in Homeworld
    I mean seriously, I can't think of a single mission in HW1 or Cataclysm where you do anything but wipe the floor with these guys

      @The_Lunch_Man ปีที่แล้ว +6

      To be fair, you wipe the floor with nearly everyone. Turanic Raiders, Imperial Taiidani, Kadeshi, Beast, and Vagyr.
      The only dudes that humbled us were the Bentusi and the Progenitors

      @@The_Lunch_Man To be fair, the entire reason that the Kadesh Ark happened was because they were trying to get around the bulk of the Taidani defenses.

      I know that mods are non-canon, but I would recommend you FX galaxy. This mod have some scenarios and one of them is where you play as Turanic Raiders and you will gonna face a threat from Kadeshi, Hiigaran and even progenitor ships!

    I was thinking, "Why would they send just normal, low-power raiders to watch and destroy Kharak?" And it dawned on me, it's probably because after more than 1000 years, patrolling Kharak could've been synonymous with watching for invasion from Antarctica. And given how sentiment among Taiidani people was becoming less supportive of the Empire's harshness, nobody would want to be responsible for watching over the genocide of a once proud race except for the most unscrupulous or low-status dregs of society.

      It was the Taiidan military that barbecued Kharak though, the raiders were merely the watchdogs

    Aside from the classic first one, I do like Turanic Outpost the most.

    Almost everything that I'm about to say is extended universe fanon that is not well supported by the games or official material:
    The Turanic "Raiders" are a really neat in-universe concept; a race of people from a oft-forgotten fringe of the galaxy (the 'galactic west') who never had the luxury of a hyperspace core, and never enjoyed trade along the ancient hyperspace lanes of the galactic core; they were 'born poor' so to speak; yet they are expansive; a vast Holy-Roman-Empire style mishmash of kingdoms, single planet polities, and micro-empires all built with the long view in mind. They're thousands of years old and in a constant state of stagnation and stasis as their people board generation ships or take risky 'short-jumps' with looted or jury rigged hyperspace engines to propel themselves towards opportunity. They are feudal, landed people that look to establish new crowns and governments outside of the influence of their ancient rotting coreworlds. Like moths, the audacious venture towards the light of the galactic core in search of the refuse of great empires and hyperspace wars, keenly aware that they have been long left behind in the technological arms race. But they're plucky. The only ones we ever see are their vagabonds, castaways, rabble-rousers and mavericks, all hellbent on doing what they've always done; get a bunch of ships, claim property, lives, ships, and planets by blood and conquest, amass enough power to forge a new realm of your design, and then cast out your own undesirables upon the rest of the universe. Just never, ever forget that Sajuuk has forsaken the sons of Turan, as the coreworlders call us. Cast down the debauched thrones. Reclaim the cores for the disposessed. Maim, kill, and burn all who oppose us. Because even though we lack their sophisticated ways, there will always be more of us. So it has been for three thousand years, so shall it remain. From the heart of the western wastes, we stab at thee!

    The last image, where does it originate from? It's definitely not from Cataclysm - there're no such lights on it's 'arms'.

    i wonder what in homeworld 3 we get a new mother ship but what actually happens to sajuuk in the trailers for homeworld 3 we don't see him funny anymore?

    • @AJCherenkov
      @AJCherenkov ปีที่แล้ว +4

      If I had to guess, much like Cataclysm, we're not gonna be playing an A-lister kiith from the start. If Sajuuk shows up to help in campaign, it's because things have gone straight to hell.

      Sadlly Hiigarans scrapped Sajuuk for Khad Sajukk ship. Just like devs scrapping lore in HW3
