LETS FUCKING GOOOOO this is fantastic Nili, can't wait to see what comes up of this. Please do what you can to bring Dash into tournaments, he's always sorely missed and I'd love to see him rewarded for having a backbone
Pros like hera and viper told Nili on a podcast when he "retired" that the role of tournament organizer would be great for him and the scene. Good luck and thank you.
Great news Nili! It put a smile on my face to hear that you'll be approaching things a bit more "professionally" (eg working a normal amount of hours.)
This is awesome to hear, lets go Nili! Great to hear you haven't been standing stil (couldn't really imagine you doing so either) and I absolutely love your continued involvement with the AoE scene, that can only produce great things!
I just follow the AOE2-scene from the sidelines but as a German myself you were one of my entrypoints and I'm really glad that you remain an active part of the community, even if it's from the sidelines. Gives me a comfy feeling :)
Congrats Nili! I wish you good luck so you are able to effectively balance the viewers' desires, players' needs while achieving the Microsoft's goals. (And please revive the team game tournament scene!)
Really great to hear. Not only for you, being back at the franchise you love with hopefully a better schedule for you and your health. But also for AoE in general, the number of especially high profile tournaments has declinded signifcantly since last year. That shows that Microsoft is still invested in the franchise and in the eSports scene. (And I assume the position is for all Age of Empires and Age of Mythology, not just AoE2)
So exciting! You are such an essential asset for the community and the game in general! Your presence is, and was, sorely missed, and I cant wait to follow and be a part of your dream! ❤
This is awesome to hear! I think for both players and viewers, having more consistency in what kinds of tourneys run when is definitely needed. It's a rather unfair comparison because of how much more "established" other esports scenes are, but League has their Split system, Starcraft 2 has ESL Masters, those are things people can immediately wrap their heads around. I love how grassroots and community-focused AoE is and I never want that to go away, but more structure is definitely welcomed. And Nili is definitely the right person for the job!
Congratz, Nili! Considering how you raised the level in tournament organization by introducing the swiss system and consistent rules and admin behavior, everybody should be looking forward to whatever you are cooking for the aoe tournament scene. Good luck!
I like that idea of getting therapy to prevent you from doing the same mistakes and preventing 16hr days causing burnout. If you have any nuggets to share on this that would be appreciated!
I think it's better if you talk with a professional to figure out what works for you. what I'm planning: - more breaks - no emails/discord on phone - fixed start and end date - sports in the morning - yellow light in my room during work hours, blue in free time - 10 min screen break after work
Great to see you back but also making sure to take good care of yourself Nili! No one wants you putting your health at risk. All the best in this role ! :)
Microsoft in 3 months: "Why exactly did we rent out Madison Square Garden for something called a...uh...Nilis Apartment Cup?" Excited to have you "back"! Excited to see how it will play out and if we perhaps get something like an AoE Pro Tour?
I am not a streamer or tournament host. But if I were, I would do a mirror tournament, with mirror maps (mirror reflection) and mirror matchups... I do not have money or audience. I just love AoE and I do love when the life is fair 😅
For the sake of my peace of mind I have to ask: How will the mirror factory manage without you?
They were shattered.
It will be a pane to replace him
@@NiliAoE2we need a bit more reflection than this.
they will have to see for themselves...
@@NiliAoE2 This reply is gold

I love Dash aswell ❤️
I'm not really running the tournament though. Caster decission remain in the hands of the tournament host. But I will adivse :-)
Yes! Dash brings so much passion to the community, would be great
Recommend aom casters for aom tournaments. Like boit. Dont let aoe2 guys run aom stuff
I would love to see Riley Knight invited to more events too, he was such a great addition to wololo red bull
@@RustyBrakes and also for Hidden Cup as well!
this is exactly what the scene needs and I know that Nili is the man for the job.
That is great news! I'm really hoping your find the right balance and are able to accomplish what you set your mind to ❤
Thanks, friend
Great to see that Nili :) Good luck!
