Encourage university and grade school political science students to be active on social media commenting and discussing pressing relevant matters. So that they can understand public platform and public scrutiny from their peers. Then when elections come, their names can be on the youths lips for advocacy support and representation and they can be comfortable voting for a peer whose mindset and stance is fleshed out articulated and understood.

@@milchshake4162 ha ha ha ha ha ha very funny! Do you think everybody who makes it in life has to have a big loan or a big chunk of capital to start a business and create jobs over a long time? If you are an entrepreneur, you can even start with zero shillings! An example, for you who says "there are no jobs". Go to the slums, where the poorest of the poor live. Even there, you can create a job for yourself..eg, cleaning toilets or collecting rubbish (plastic) transporting and selling for recycling! But of course for those with a "serikali saidia" mentality, they will refuse such jobs and then cry all day that there are no jobs because there is no capital! My friend I started with nothing kabisa, made it abroad though my own efforts, came back and am busy creating many jobs. Kenya has so many opportunities for all those with the right mentality and mindset. Poverty is in the mind. Kenyans we are more corrupt than the government. There is no government in the world which can create employment to it's citizen. The government is there to put up necessary infrustructure roads hospital markets and to create enabled environment for business to thrive. Private sector is the one playing big role in all over the world. Kenya education system is one of the problem at times you might think how a person spend time in the university graduate and come out to seat down and complain about the government. 69% of Kenyans are Unemployment so the 69% depend on the 31% employed that is over dependence. Government tax system should be reviewed for instance in the USA company like Amazon pay zero tax because it employ alot of people. Kenya tax system is unbearable look at what keroche and thika wines went through recently, there must be terms in negotiations. Safaricom eabl should be given half tax relieve on basis it employ more people to cover up the tax remited to the government. Otherwise Kenyan youths we need skills based competence rather than overrated degrees let's start from somewhere.choma mahindi, pika chapo, oshea watu nguo, do it that will help the economy.lastly we need to vote as youths based on ideas and competence tribalism and sycophancy is the root cause of our problem in Kenya

Lets try our level best to take individual effort and responsibility seriously, at the end of the day what you are doing as an individual has a direct impact on economy. I must admit our tax system is not favourable but we can't just seat down and complain we need to take full responsibility of our lives. The major problem with us KENYANs the youths to be specific is ignorance we don't pay attention to details. The country is so polarized that we can't separate logic from politics. We need to vote enlightened and competent leaders the populist way of Kenya will definitely produce quacks. How can Nairobians of all the people who believed to be most literate vote for Sonko over Miguna Miguna/Pk and kidero.we spend 5 hours in traffic jam and we want 24hr economy.we need to get our priority right from individual level up to leadership

Actually jobs are there, but do the youths have the relevant skills for the market, it also depends on the government policy on education programme which is supposed to be SKILL BASED SYSTEM. I believe nurses, medical technicians, welders fabricators, motor mechanics, and all sorts of skills etc are still needed because we are a developing country. The other issue is about Agriculture and value addition on agri based industries which are supposed to be a massive employer but the govt has not done enough to enhance that sector, many industries collapsed, we are depending on imports now.

Am a fellow African youth from a neighboring country who is deeply concerned cause what happens there is a mile stone away from me it can reach me within minutes... But what has worried me most is the core cause of unemployment is unknown to youths though a few who know in and out of the problems lack patriotism and end up worsening the unemployment climate ,take a look at the settlement setting s of the Kenyans born and raised there ..they are in between the rural areas and the cities which means they can't own the large fertile soils being taken by the the foreign investors and some major tribes or tribes in power and they can't own businesses in the cities where the wealthy colonial nationals are owning the private sectors...this leaves the black child suffering both the educated and un educated.. To make matters worse some are praying for this situation to prevail as long as they are gaining some hand outs in form of donations and tourism for instance in kibera and other places...look am poor and hopeful cause at least in some Ugandan regions u earn as u wish if u are a hard worker and unemployment is rampant like in other parts of the world but its not inherited.. Am doing the best in life after realising no body will spoon feed without an agenda so don't hold to any thing that keeps behind ..brother friend tribe religion beliefs sentiments customs family cultures and so forth..one day u will understand me after under fighting for my name muweesi sserunkuma...don't blame accept your challenges and find solutions.. The land of the blacks is at the bottom only the blacks want it on top...the elites know all this but don't believe in their selves cause they are institutionalized..... The problem is that we define employment and jobs as "working in an office wearing high heels or suit and tie" then there's high unemployment and few opportunities.
If we define it as participating in income generating activities or problem solving activities that allow one to put food on the table, you'll see that there's low unemployment and a lot of opportunities.

Why are many young Kenyans unemployed?
    1. Nepotism and ethnicism: certain ministries, parastatals, companies in Kenya generally only speak one mother-tongue.
    2. Delusional civil servants who engage in budgeted corruption. For example, key infrastructural projects that could help expand the use of resources end up crippling the various sectors because the money invested in them ends up being 200% more than is required. The lost money goes to "key officials" ensuring that other key sectors do not receive their budgets and as such are not able to employ the necessary people.
    3. Entitlement: a lot of our principal politicians, from Head of state to Sub county level, corporate wheeler dealers believe it is their right to have their ass kissed and so in order to gain employment you have to grovel at and kiss the ring.
    4. Taxation: the government has used this as a punitive tool: for example: to kill innovation, target and realign certain industries with the "major principals" goals. Basically, if you innovate and become successful, your tax amounts go up (sportpesa (400 employees were sent home), social media vloggers, chat apps sites, applications), if you do not pay homeage to the principals, you are taxed (keroche, humphrey kariuki and at one point the govt majority leader chief whip).
    5. The education system is rigged in such a way that 75% of the population cannot "become smarter than the top 5%. So the skill levels are left wanting and cannot be applied to more meaningful jobs so menial jobs are all that left those are highly dependent again on the person one knows, they are low paying thus perpetuating a cycle of "educational unemployment"

The government's basic job is to build and oversee the infrasture, set taxation and get out of the way. I wouldn't expect anything more but dysfunction from a government whose leadership is obsessed with how much public money they can stuff in their own pockets. All the ills affecting Kenyans are a result of the King's courts naked avarice which, as a result, tend to be imitated down the chain, and cycle.

People need to plan their families.
The unemployed will continue to rise resulting in more theifs and crooks. Don't blame the goverment due to uncontrolled population.
