I feel like this could even work as a club series where you can only buy flops or former wonderkids who didn't quite pan out and be like a rehabilitation team!!

I believe it could, but unfortunately i think it'd sort of fall into the same problem with lets plays i've done in the past. Just wouldn't have the longevity

Please for the love of God keep doing stuff like this. It's 2023 and we still only see Let's play and Meta Tactics on FM. No one is making original videos like this anymore. Keep it up man!
A variety of people do experiments, the problem being they don't really know how to do experiments so the results are often crap.

@@zora1860 Z is clearly diverging from FM this year. Don’t think he’s enjoying it much, Luke is doing rebuilds and Tom is taking over what Z was doing over the last years. Don’t get me wrong they do their videos well. It’s just not original ideas.
Smaller channel called 'Games tell stories' doing a director of football series with an emphasis on moneyball principles, worth a watch too
I actually think Yildiz did a bit better in the long run in your version, more money, more playing time and likely became a club legend. The alternative ended up being decent but took a long time to get going and really never hit any dizzying heights that would mark his career out as being anything special for an elite football talent. That being said it was no real thanks to you so I'd call it a draw xD.

Fully agree, and in the *very* long run being a legend in Middle Eastern football provides massive career and influential opportunities. Club or country management, regional FA roles, ambassadorial roles, that nine years sets him up for the next 40 as regards making bank goes.

This was great! Such an interesting comparison between the AI and human player choices. Goes to show the difference between them. Also I think you won with Yildiz. He may have left Bologna after 18 months, but he became a legend in his own right in Saudi Arabia. So because of that, you won that by far.
Plus he probably earned double of not triple the amount of money in Saudi!
Yup, don't forget the opportunities of being in for a massive career or influential position. Things like ambassadorial role, regional FA members, club/country management, etc. he has setting himself up for ~40 years of making banks.
I hadn't even really considered that! He's basically made himself a legend there for life and earned more money than most players can dream of in the process. I guess it's a matter of different players having different desires for their career!
A very interesting idea. I wonder if you could do this with some (at least in certain regions) very prominent players that were at some point seen as the next big thing but never really were able to fulfill that promise.
It's tough to make that work, as their attributes and potential will have been adjusted by SI as a result of them falling from grace, so even with good moves they'd be unlikely to flourish :(
@@Secondyellowcard Yeah, the ones that are 27 now and play in the VNL probably wouldn't make much sense :D. But maybe some players who are still young and have great potential, but just didn't work out for one reason or another.
For example, a player who made such a transition over the last years was Renato Sanches. He played an amazing 2016 EURO, then moved to Bayern as a kid basically, could not make it work, had some loans, could not make those work either, but the move to Lille helped him a lot and now he plays at PSG (whether that can be seen as a success is a different question, but you know what I mean :D).
This is really cool! Would definitely like to see more. It seems fun but I don't have the editor so it seems a bit difficult to get done without that.
That was great fun to watch and it was interesting to see the process of how you decided on the move for each player. I think you did the right for both of them too.

This is what I feel is the biggest complaint I have with FM right now. Of course it happens in real life, but far too often do players just let their careers go to waste. Great video👍
It happens all the time in real life. Do you know how many players are there that want to be professional footballers and can't make it or who are professional footballers but not at the level they want to be? Only a very select few actually are good enough and are lucky enough to make it and be regular starters on a good team.
It is actually very realistic. players like Oscar, Bakayoko or Batshuayi (or generally most of Chelseas Loan Army members) have done exactly the same and killed off their once very promising careers by staying at big clubs that overpay them or going to obscure leagues.
This was a really interesting and unique take on the typical and now very overdone “I put X star at X small club” video. Great way to reinvent the idea and enjoyable to hear your thought process in picking out various clubs
This was great dude. How cool would an actual agent mod on FM be. Look forward to seeing the next of these.

I’d like to see Football Manager add an agent mode. Starting as a new agent and trying to become the next Mino Raiola could be a great challenge.

Great content, I enjoyed this as something a little different. Yildiz got Champions League football at Nice but he had a lovely old time out in Saudi and earned about and extra £50m so I'd say you edged it. There's a whole squad at Chelsea in dire need of your skills.

I have an idea for a series:
Start a save game and select x amount of players and be their agent.
Always monitoring their progress and feeling out other clubs.
Wonderkids from top clubs to lower league players like and actual agent.
You probably have to stop auto-transfers the ingame agent does though. Hopefully it is not a problem.
This is actually a cool idea for FM videos. I'd certainly watch more.

I think by the time i've done a couple of years of sims he seems to leave Spurs and finds a new career move for himself, but i'll have a look into him :)

How about a video trying to recreate the career of Dani Olmo? Take a really young player from a huge academy, move them to a top team in a smaller league (Olmo was Dinamo Zagreb), and see if they can still fulfill their potential and get a big moce back to a top 5 league.
Maybe you could try Ilyes Housni, labelled the new JP Papin in my save, but stuck at PSG2? See if you can make him reach JPP levels?

This is a great idea and a very enjoyable video! Perhaps Yildiz could have benefitted in another agent intervention though ;) (wonder where would you have transfered him after 5 years)
I actually have a plan for a video like this where we follow a single player, but stay his agent the entire time, so checking in every 6 months to make sure he is flourishing and finding him moves if he isn't :)

The Yildiz one is hard to judge, he probably made more money at Al Shabbab and had amazing stats there, on the other hand, late start to his career but maybe more impressive. I think your version still is slightly better, he made more money and probably was happier with his career personally.
I think i agree, i reckon the AI would have beat me if he hadn't made that ill fated move to Spain and got no more football. It just took him too long to get any game time

Honestly, you do not know how ecstatic I am that Nantes won the league. And that even without being touched, they finished 4th!
And this isn't the only savefile where I've seen Nantes do well, they seem to be quite highly rated by FM.
And given how realistic FM is, I'm seriously hoping this plays out in reality. Hopefully starting with knocking Juventus out of the Europa League tomorrow night!

Funny...I just got Yildiz for my team in Sporting. Haven't started the league yet in the year of 2030. He seems much stronger on my save and is evaluated to 50M.
honestly not sure how he got 50 caps for France. Like he's certainly good, but not 50 caps worthy. Maybe he's one of those first sub kinda guys.

In my 4th season with Leeds I needed an extra body, due to injuries, and got Yildiz in on loan. He was garbage. Playing 4231 and he struggled to hold down a place

Next time you should put them in teams that are likely to be promoted to the top division, meaning good game time and a potential move if the season in the top flight goes well
Unfortunately, it's not really viable as the players themselves weren't interested in move outside of the top divisions and were against moves to most sides towards the lower half of the top flights too
