@@gorse7852 You name exactly those few games I had to cut from my list at Essen. :) Teotihuacan, Coimbra and Reykholt were on my list, but I only had so much space in my luggage and took other hot games. I'm sorry. :) I like euro games so hopefully I will choose the games you have in the future.
Just found your channel. I already subscribe to "Watch it Played" and "Gaming Rules!". I only bring them up since I believe they are the benchmark for board game instructional videos. That being said, I found your explanation to be very well done and on par with the other channels I mentioned. I do have a question though. I just played Dice Settlers for the first time the other day and after watching your video realized I had done a couple of things incorrectly. One thing I am not sure of is the rule about trading "3 different resource tokens" for 5 VP. I assumed all the resources had to be different (i.e. 1 metal, 1 wood, and 1 pumpkin) and of course gold could be used as a substitute. After watching your video, you traded 2 of one type and 1 of another type of resource. Did you come to that conclusion based on your interpretation of the rule book or do you have first hand knowledge that it can be any 3 resources. In any case, you have a new subscriber from Dallas, Tx. I look forward to more of your videos. Keep up the good work!
Thank you very much, I'm really happy to hear such a great feedback from you! To answer your question - translating central and eastern European languages into English isn't always easy, or isn't always 100% accurate. There are some grammar nuances which may be hidden for non-native speakers. For example, in English, it's not the same to say "trade 3 different resources", and "trade any 3 resources", but in our language both sentences would be translated into exactly the same words. I've seen many rules translated from CEE languages into English by gaming enthusiasts with great-but-not-excellent English skills. This is one of those examples. The main idea is to trade 3 resources for 5 VPs, and if you manage to trade 5 resources of the same type you get 6VPs instead. I can understand how this was translated as "5 different resources", but the correct English expression is "any 5 resources". I don't have this confirmed by the game designers, but this is the way I've seen it played at Essen, and given the reasons above it makes perfect sense to me. :)
@@nithrania Thanks for taking the time to clarify. It appears you are probably correct given your explanation and the fact that you witnessed it played at Essen. Also, I assume you mean 3 resources (not 5) in your 2nd paragraph. Understandable confusion given that we were discussing 5 VPs. You might want to edit it just in case someone else is reading to avoid confusion.
Btw is there any way one can wish for a ltp of Mage Knight? I´ve read the rules and watched som videos and I don´t seem to grasp it. I think you would be able to do a simple and clear video for it.
Thank you Marcus 😊, I know how much it would help, but given the high demand from publishers for tutorials for new games there's very little chance I would have time to do it. 😔 My schedule is already full until mid October.
Thank you. :) I'm not a teacher (but my father was... now he's retired), but I do a lot of explanation almost all my life. :) So, although not a teacher by profession, I am definitely a teacher "by nature". 🙂
This is the best ltp-video I`ve watched. Great job!!
Thank you! 😊
I really enjoyed your video.
Will try a game of my own right now.
Thanks :)
Thank you! :)
Just discovered you and think you explain how to play very well. Looking forward to other games that hopefully I and my friends own 😀.
Thank you. :)
What games (or what kind of games) do you own? I do other videos in my local language as well, and not all of them are in English.
Nithrania - Heroes of Boardgames Hoping you may be able to do Teotihuacan, Coimbra, Pre History, Crisis or Reykholt to name just a few 😁.
Oh and Crown of Emara.

Hi @@gorse7852 , I just got the Coimbra, so that's at least one game from your list. :)

It's 3 resources for 5 VPs, it's fixed now.
