I have the M11x R1 from 2010 which I used as my main computer for 4 years of solid gaming, mostly online with friends. I was anal about keeping things in perfect condition for my collection so I used an external mouse and keyboard with it and never actually touched the thing unless putting it away. As a result, I have an “as new” M11x which I have kept in storage since 2014. I did use it recently on Windows 7 with Fire Fox to do some web-browsing and it runs TH-cam and Netflix perfectly. I haven’t really used it to do anything else though as it is now inside its case and back in the cupboard. It’s my favourite laptop of all time and I get nostalgic just looking at it.
I like my M11x so much that although I have a newer Alienware system, I still prefer playing indie and retro games on it, and I'm always on the lookout for newer games that will run on it. Other games that run on the M11x include Streets of Rage 4 (released in 2020), Katana Zero (2019), and Intravenous. When you combine these newer indie games with older PC games and the arcade games released in the 80s and 90s that can be played via emulator, there are more playable games on the M11x than you can experience in a lifetime.
Much butter camera perspective from above. :) If you have the money, buy a tripod only for the shots directly from above, because currently hand camera is used with a little movement.
A couple of upcoming games that I'm highly anticipating are Brigador Killers and Valfaris: Mecha Therion, both of which should run on the M11x with little trouble. I also use it to play Field of Glory Empires (a grand strategy game released in 2019) and Field of Glory 2 (A turn based ancient wargame released in 2017). It will also run The Forest, which came out in 2018 but that game is extremely demanding and must be turned to the lowest settings. Even then framerates will be low but I still managed to beat it.
