The Church of Jesus Christ has taught me how to manage my life and strive to be better. I am so blessed and grateful for my conversion after meeting the missionaries.

Me too 🙌 So grateful God saw the struggles we would face and called a prophet to help lead his church.

I feel so nostalgic, thinking of the conferences where I fell asleep at the sound of Elder Scott's monotonous tone; this is one of the general authorities who's talks are best read.

This is so true. I just went thru something like this. By the grace of god. I was able to come back. Not after years of pain.

How do you manage lonliness at 47 years old without anyone in your life? See most members of the church don't go through this experience due to finding a partner to love and enjoy life with. Why Heavenly Father has not blessed me with the same gifts of marriage and children I'll never be able to understand but if you look at our today's world you'll see the reason why. Only a few worthy candidates bc of being faithful and rightous. Days go by and never the right person comeing along. The problem is the world not being better.

No one, not even an apostle of God has the right to tell victims they are at least partially to blame for abuse. The audacity. Where is the discernment?

too bad he stresses follow laws but the savior wants us to love him and we will naturally follow him and out of love we will be obedient - not out of obligation

    • @krisofamerica

It is a loving obligation like unto mowing a beloved grandmothers yard or like loving ties that bind.

jim renken Everything is a choice. Even when we have a superb relationship with Christ we can fall. In fact, that’s the time the adversary wants to take us down the most. There is no magic time where we are just good to go. Every moment of our lives we choose good or evil. It is because of of Christ’s atonement we can make these choices.

jim renken does obligation, in any way, play a part in your life?

Spiritual laws are given to us not to make life hard for us, but to make life easy for us.

@@stewartritchey7602 Do you think it was easier for me as a young teen to believe I had a hand in and responsibility to repent for my abuse? What are you guys thinking???

How do you know whom to believe?

    • @lindakarlson9495

That's a very good question. Deception is always around us...it's a part of the opposition that's placed in our lives so we may learn and grow! If you listen again to Elder Scott, he answers your inquiry. 1. How does your spirit and heart react? 2. Does the help conform to the Lord's teachings and example? 3. Does that person live what he teaches, and how does his own life reflect his advice? 4. Pray, listen for an answer, then do.
      I hope this helps!

Tune out the world and, having done so, listen then to the still, small voice of the Spirit.

    • @alananat6628
      @alananat6628 3 ปีที่แล้ว

@Jerrod Wertman Let's be honest. When members or investigators of the church are invited to pray and ponder, and IF they receive feelings of warning or anything but peace, they are accused by members of " doing it wrong." Or in other words, keep praying until you get an acceptable answer by the members of the church. If you receive an answer which tells you not to join the LDS church, then you are being led by Satan. So in order to be true to yourself and convictions, you need to be okay with being "led astray by the evil one." This is so unhealthy. No wonder people are leaving the church in droves.
