True, it lacks a few gameplay mechanics that dates it a bit, such as no jump or sprint buttons, but for the most part, the gameplay feels very modern and intuitive. The set pieces, graphics, and sound design are all fantastic as well. I'm not even a huge FPS fan, but this game kept me interested throughout the whole playthrough. The game play, story, graphics, the destructible environment, collision detection, hit markers, THE GUNS (which is what this gem was all about), rounds remaining counter had a neato little feature (as the rounds were expended, they would "eject" from the counter), speaking of the guns (having the ability to select fire, equip suppressors to nearly every weapon, you could gold/silver said weapons), sounds were absolutely awesome (immersive af). Awesome! What a game this is. The mechanics of it are perfection. So underrated. Getting into the bunker at the end to that save point and then progressing deeper is one of the hardest things I’ve ever done in a video game.
The last bunker section took me weeks on hardest difficulty, when you get all the guns and ammo resupply before you go in you think its plenty....................... and all of a sudden you're out of ammo and you still haven't even taken out the pill boxes 😂😂 frustrating but when you cleared it. Man it was a sense of achievement. What a game!
I always switched to single shot and got headshots whenever possible. The guys died so much quicker that way. I never did find out where the last destructive objective was in the very first mission. It drove me nuts not fully completing the game. Anyone else remember that?
Great game with excellent gameplay, suspense, graphics and sound. I completed it a couple of times. Headshot everything! If I recall the last stage was in a bunker complex. A large room, factory size, with lots of the body armour protected gunmen. You had to clear the room. Saving RPGs for the armoured guys was the way through I think. There was also a heavy calibre handgun which helped. 🇬🇧👍
