Hello! I apologise that this video is out a day later than I wanted it to be, but it just took so long to render and upload... regardless, I hope you enjoy it! What did you think of TYBW Episode 28, Kill the King? Is it one of the best episodes of the series so far? Did you enjoy the new battle between Ichigo and Yhwach? Let me know your thoughts - thanks everyone!
Great video as always! 12:11 I personally think that it was actually Adnyeus showing Ichigo that he was going to be killed and what happend to Yhwach, that's why ichigo "forms" around him and YH is standing before him on the ground.
Didn’t even know the new episodes weee coming out until a couple days ago when I saw one of this guys videos come up by random in my feed. Catching up now.

@@iSpEcKz-- Not exactly - Yhwach absorbs the Soul King's existing power, which is what enables him to continue to act as a linchpin. Ichigo, as a new Soul King candidate, has the ability to act as a new linchpin using his own power, not the power he took.
@@Karu_TC That makes sense but I need information as to why Yhwach didn’t inherit the 5 races in his initial birth which I’m assuming has something to do with either Ichibe or the direct obscurity of Yhwach’s birth in general.
@@iSpEcKz-- I think, assuming that the Black covered baby wasn't just artistic, it might because either Yhwach wasn't born to a mother, therefore he didn't have the human side, or Ichibei did something that removed all but the Quincy powers and the Almighty from him. What we see in his history might be a human woman that raised this random baby that was found, and not his actual biological mother. So it is possible that he is missing something. He was born of a spirit, unlike Ichigo who was born of a human quincy and a spirit/shinigami.
Thank you Mr Tommo 🙏🏾 Its been over 10 years at this point, from the phone videos with you wearing the collared jacket to us all growed up still following Mr Kubo’s work Keep it up, as this is the only place that matches my interest in Bleach !!
I like how Shinji was saying that Soi-Fon has a bad attitude and Momo agreed, and then quickly realized what she said and tried to play it off as a joke. It is wholesome to see their Captain and Vice-Captain relationship being a good one.
It makes me super happy to see after what Aizen did to the poor girl’s head. He really messed her up. I’m glad that the Shinji-Momo dynamic is a healthy one, what the Aizen-Momo dynamic was THOUGHT to be by Momo. She’s one of my favorite side characters and I wish we got to explore her powers a little more (but, that applies to a LOT of characters in Bleach given the amount of them).
I’ve always loved how Ywhach turned Ichigo’s main character/chosen one-ness against him. Oh, you’re super powerful because you’re the only soul to ever have the powers of a human, shinigami, hollow, fullbringer, and quincy? Great, that’s exactly what I needed to kill the soul king.

It was as if I had a long discussion in the car talking about Bleach with a dear friend. Let's hope we get more of the primordial world in the future, more densely new anime content along with the Quincy War flashbacks. Keep up the great work Tom!
I’m not sure if it was pointed out before, but I’m pretty sure in the earlier episodes of bleach cour 1, when Uryu was reading soken’s book, there is a page that says the soul kings name on it!! Kubo foreshadowing is incredible, lol
I’m curious about Aizen again at this point. He was outraged at the idea of Adynus. Like truly furious. Much like Ywach. Then you realize Ywach went to see Aizen BEFORE he dealt with Genryuusai.
Agreed, I would like to hear Aizen directly speak on this. He was mad at Kisuke for not fighting against him as well so there is something interesting there for sure.
cuz they have different ideals. aizen wanted to be god to rule the world under his vision. while yhwach just wanted the cycle of death to not exists no more and made the world one again.
4:20 how fitting that one of the lights in your life dies, and it's the one with your name. and it's on the day you review the episode of Bleach where the Soul King dies... and we found out his name.
It certainly is interesting to see the changes(both in terms of new material, and where manga events are placed). I have to wonder how much is Kubo's OG ideas now able to be shown in the best way, or refinements over time.
I'm an anime only watcher since my buddy got me in to Bleach a few years ago. I do not watch many anime's but to me this is an absolute banger of an episode and a series. I love the creepy and unholy themes here. The scenography is just divine it looks soo good.
48:57 this is a really nice underrated scene to see imo, kenny and Jushiro are the kind of characters you don’t often see in the same scene so it’s interesting to see, it’s also a nice reminder that jushiro is a capable kaido user and it gives him another relevant thing to do before he meets his fate. It’ll also make more sense later when kenpachi is up and about again.

That image of mama Ishida and baby Uryuu in the episode was really nice. Regarding the new and cut scenes, I think that stuff from 26:20 that you pointed will surely be added in later episodes and they just reordered stuff from manga as it felt better by the director
I have waited so long for this from MrTommo LOL! i.e. ONLY 4 days since i saw the Ep....! Tommo is simply the best for Bleach reviews/analyses like this. Thanks, mate.
40:50 WHOA! I did not notice that! That is absolutely insane and one of my new all time favorite anime images. The frame is zoomed in on ichgo floating in a dominate position juxtaposed by the quincy king lying on the ground battered and the Getsuga Jujishou is in the background still radiating and pulsating looking EXACTLY like the soul king's eye itself casting its gaze down on behind him. Holy fuck thats cool and something I wouldn't have noticed if Tommo didn't point it out. But that's so genius of an image to cook up in your mind and then animate it to perfection. Ichigo genuinely looks godly. And the eye is kinda of a real world manifestation of his god power he obtained from his royal training. The path ichigo had to walk during his training flashed the soul kings pupil on ichigo. He's tapped in to Reio actual power. Im genuinely so glad to be able to see this animated. I was reading the manga weekly when this part of Bleach was coming out and Ichigo NEVER gets to showcase his new power. They really gave ichigo a serious time to shine. He just destroyed ywach. I think this performance puts him above Yamamoto.
That poses a good question though.. Where is the Schutzstaffel now that Squad Zero is done for and they were all right there when Yhwach made his grand staircase to go to the throne room. Like they should have met Ichigo and gang right as they arrive but they are nowhere to be found. What the hell happened? 😅

I’ve watched this Bleach episode so many times already. 10/10, the opening song in the conversation behind Ichigo and Yhwach is epic asf and stuck in my head 😂🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Rukia guessing that the shaking is due to the Bankai of a Squad Zero member is not surprising. Remember, Ichigo was able to destroy a pocket dimension by activating his in the Fullbring arc. Yamamoto was threatening the safety of the SS with his. Squad Zero are more powerful than those two so she made a logical guess.
The small scenes involving Shinji and Soi Fon being removed is somewhat concerning, hope they dont get caught in the hypefest and remove small character interactions like these any more. Removing NaNaNa is also somewhat concerning but I hope he'll be present later. Rest of the episode was an 11/10 for sure tho
@ykms2058 No, he was alive. He used Morphine Pattern on Aizen after he came up and knocked him out. He was then experimented on by Mayuri in CFYOW but he didn't die
I always wanted to bring this up... Senjumaru's bankai basically woven the fates of each of the royal guards even if it wasn't technically by her doing. The reason she couldn't seal away Ishida's because he had a greater part to play in the eyes of Reio.
@@Hymn_ No, no. He was already dying from Auswählen, but he asked Uryu to switch his injuries over to him just before he died so that he wouldn't be in bad shape when he went to face Yhwach. Bazz B survived Auswählen as well, so I wouldn't say it's weird. He was going to die anyways, so he had Uryu switch over his injuries to help him, as a way to repent or redeem himself.
i think the means for ishida to land the arrow has already been set up. if you look at uryu in the senjumaru fight, he had a mimihagi looking reishi tattoo on his hand. the still silver arrow and ishida must have a connection to mimihagi and its stillness, therefore leading to yhwach not being able to see the arrow coming. there is also a chance ishida is part fullbring with his grandma having hollow marks on her legs, which might have been passed to her son and then to uryu. this, meaning uryu having a part of the soul king in him, might also have a part to play with uryu's abilities and why yhwach didn't see the arrow coming. people with soul king shard have been shown to be able to interfere with the almighty one way or another, hogyoku aizen's hypnosis, orihime here kind of surprising yhwach and our collective uncle making a past that cancels a future that the almighty chose. they way they cooked here was more than i ever expected, this was just perfect. they fed us so well and now we got so many new things to theorize and think about. if they keep adding content like this the tybw arc will be completely redeemed and become the goated arc that it deserved to be. i also love that the anime is not only elevating the manga but also doing some set up for the arc that shall not be named.
I just finished watching the newest episode about 10 minutes ago. I live in St Pete Florida and my power came on earlier this morning. But this episode was awesome, I mean, how often do you see Urahara not know about something or at least hear about it. Ukitakes moment was done very well and then left us a cliffhanger big time. And the new opening and end themes are absolute bangers!
I think the reason rukia may believe that a zero division used their Bankai is because since she was around the zero division and (my theory being since rukia is more sensitive to reishi compared to Renji because he struggled with kido while she learned it pretty quickly) she could feel that who is was that released that huge amount of power compared to the quincies should be a zero division member and there should be similarities to how reishi is felt when anyone releases their bankai (same way how everyone’s reishi is different and people could tell who is who by reishi alone sometimes)
This arc continues to elevate the stakes, and this episode summary does an exceptional job breaking down not only the crucial plot points but also the deeper themes that underpin the entire arc. Uabar’s motivations and the expanded backstory add emotional weight, while the adaptation’s bold shifts keep the core essence intact yet provide a new flavor for longtime fans. Ichigo growth feels more urgent as his hybrid identity is key to unraveling the Soul King’s fate. This is more than a battle of strength...it’s a profound exploration of power, legacy, and the heavy burden of destiny.
this fight really upsets me. Not because it's bad, but because it makes True Shikai ichigo look so FUCKING COOL that it's gonna be a huge shame if the show sticks with the manga continuity and he eventually goes back to the single giant blade.
I audibly gasped when they showed Ryukken holding the Still Silver. That's all we needed. Something other than what the manga did. This is why it's such a big deal that kubo is involved with the anime. He probably knows that some stuff needed to be fixed and he's doing that now. It's crazy that we're getting this at all but the anime has done a great job so far
i think what ichibei means by " that is what peace is about" is that peace is about the victors of war achieving peace at the expense of the losers. A reference to the war 1000 years ago where the shinigamis enjoyed a thousand years of peace by completely crushing the quincies, which is the same thing the quincies are doing now, destroying or sacrificing everyone and everything else for the peace of quincies. It's an abstract concept that mirrors the wars that was occurred throughout history and is still occurring to this date TLDR; ichibei is saying "peace always comes at the expense of someone else"
The fact that SK could only be killed by a hybrid means that, had Aizen managed to get to him, he'd just stand in front of the crystal scratching his head?
When I saw Ichigo standing in front of his getsuga jujisho my first thought was that it looked like the space between the soul king's irises. I think the size of it, it's sun like brilliance, and the way it lingers in space along with iris pattern it forms all suggest that getsuga jujisho is a divine ability.
I know I'm not the only person who came up with the theory, but I'm glad the theory of Hell being the "darkness" was brought up. It's possible, though maybe not probable, they might sneak some lore in about Hell, IF Kubo really is planning to do a Hell arc. Like, what if the Hell hollows were the hollows that were killing people in the primordial world?
1:03:30 she was likely making speculation rather than saying that she outright knew. After all, they are all captains who certainly have Bankai, and if they, who are stronger than the entire gotei unleashed their Bankai, it stands to reason that the pressure that comes from that Bankai would be on an entirely different level from any other captain
The King being freed from his state after getting his name was meaningful given what was done to him, the extreme measures taken by the ancestors. This was quite the clash between Ichigo and Yhwach.
It's incredible how you were able to build a movie length review of the episode while also releasing a live reaction and another video about the soul king. Definitely can feel the passion here 😁
What commenters said about adnyeus may be true. But i believe its much more likely that adnyeus (especially the way its pronounced and written in katakana) is supposed to be adonaios. That is the gnostic archon of the sun. In gnosticism the biblical God is not the highest power and is simply an aeon who is the imperfect creator of our imperfect reality. There are other aeons and gods besides him. Which exist in a higher plane of existence. He even has a mother: sophia which from his anime flashback is giving me some ideas. When you compare it to bleach these other soul king level gods may be related to hell which isn't part of the 3 realms of bleach. And the higher plane of existence itself may be hell. I think this fits better than the other interpretation of it. People weren't too unhappy with yhwach's motive not being given right till the end since he had a soft motive given to us up until that point. Which is that he constantly needs to wage war to cause casualties so he can continue to absorb souls. Or else he reverts to an invalid baby.
Seeing getsuga jujisho used again was so good and then seeing ichigo just stand in front of it was badass. Especially bc it never made sense that ichigo got a powerful attack such as getsuga jujisho and only use it once the entire arc.

I always wanted to bring this up... Senjumaru's bankai basically woven the fates of each of the royal guards even if it wasn't technically by her doing. The reason she couldn't seal away Ishida's because he had a greater part to play in the eyes of Reio.
i'm kinda confused on jugram's ngl, like why fire? cuz i'm pretty sure he was killed by injuries, not bazz b
@@Hymn_ He died to Auswählen
@@Mozartmeh wasn't it due to injuries? auswahlen only made him powerless, but he asked uryu to switch his injuries to him. so that's why he died
He was going to die anyways, so he had Uryu switch over his injuries to help him, as a way to repent or redeem himself.
i think the means for ishida to land the arrow has already been set up. if you look at uryu in the senjumaru fight, he had a mimihagi looking reishi tattoo on his hand. the still silver arrow and ishida must have a connection to mimihagi and its stillness, therefore leading to yhwach not being able to see the arrow coming. there is also a chance ishida is part fullbring with his grandma having hollow marks on her legs, which might have been passed to her son and then to uryu. this, meaning uryu having a part of the soul king in him, might also have a part to play with uryu's abilities and why yhwach didn't see the arrow coming. people with soul king shard have been shown to be able to interfere with the almighty one way or another, hogyoku aizen's hypnosis, orihime here kind of surprising yhwach and our collective uncle making a past that cancels a future that the almighty chose.
they way they cooked here was more than i ever expected, this was just perfect. they fed us so well and now we got so many new things to theorize and think about. if they keep adding content like this the tybw arc will be completely redeemed and become the goated arc that it deserved to be. i also love that the anime is not only elevating the manga but also doing some set up for the arc that shall not be named.
i remember someone saying that mimihagi might be a quincy just like pernida
Bro, please, make all your videos this long. They help me kill time at work.
@MrTommo2304 I just assumed Rukia being a part of one of one of the five noble houses could explain the Squad 0 Banki explanation.
YESS is this the longest tommo vid ever made??
1:13:15 we can actually see ichigo's other arm trying to stop his body from swinging when hes screaming
That's a big video, kinda crazy how you make reviews this massive every time
An hour and a half review? Tommo channeling Tekking101 here.
I love that you can make a 1:26:16 video about a 20 min episode.
Not because it's bad, but because it makes True Shikai ichigo look so FUCKING COOL that it's gonna be a huge shame if the show sticks with the manga continuity and he eventually goes back to the single giant blade.
i stayed until the end love this video
I audibly gasped when they showed Ryukken holding the Still Silver. That's all we needed. Something other than what the manga did. This is why it's such a big deal that kubo is involved with the anime. He probably knows that some stuff needed to be fixed and he's doing that now. It's crazy that we're getting this at all but the anime has done a great job so far
I’m actually watching this right before the new episode comes out. Like literally it’s 7 am on Saturday rn 😂
"Existential looming threat of a vague death"... I feel that 😅
i think what ichibei means by " that is what peace is about" is that peace is about the victors of war achieving peace at the expense of the losers. A reference to the war 1000 years ago where the shinigamis enjoyed a thousand years of peace by completely crushing the quincies, which is the same thing the quincies are doing now, destroying or sacrificing everyone and everything else for the peace of quincies.
It's an abstract concept that mirrors the wars that was occurred throughout history and is still occurring to this date
TLDR; ichibei is saying "peace always comes at the expense of someone else"
Youre the best Bleach youtuber
The fact that SK could only be killed by a hybrid means that, had Aizen managed to get to him, he'd just stand in front of the crystal scratching his head?
Yes
Thank you, Tom-sama🙇🏾♂️🙇🏾♂️🙇🏾♂️🙇🏾♂️
AN HOUR AND TWENTY SIX MINUTE VIDEO?????? NAWWWWWW LETS GOOOO
TYBW is officially the best Bleach arc with the anime.
It's incredible how you were able to build a movie length review of the episode while also releasing a live reaction and another video about the soul king. Definitely can feel the passion here 😁
Tommo has always been like that 💪🏿
What commenters said about adnyeus may be true.
Or else he reverts to an invalid baby.
if i got 10$ for everytime a japanese media made a gnostic reference, i would be rich
Seeing getsuga jujisho used again was so good and then seeing ichigo just stand in front of it was badass. Especially bc it never made sense that ichigo got a powerful attack such as getsuga jujisho and only use it once the entire arc.
I love what the anime is doing! They are seriously taking care of Bleach
Jaw dropping episode! 💯
