I have ripped patch cards on several occasions. Were being ripped and lied to. Totally unfair to the collector. We collect for a reason to be closer to our sports heroes
That Topps and Panini would even try to get away with that patch crap is really concerning. Greed is a nasty thing.......we're paying insane amounts of money for cardboard........they have been profiting a TON........and yet they think it's cool to screw their customer over with crap patches from players who aren't on the card? We as customer need to demand more from these companies.
Insurance why not give them an average grade of 8 which is probably the norm. They took the reasonsibility on by accepting the package from USPC . Right when the package is received the owners think they're getting there cards back graded but their insurance should cover it
Yeah Ace grading was a grading company started by a TH-camr during COVID... Its unfortunately not shocking that this is the end result for this type of business model
Also for people who may not know, when Panini says “the enclosed game worn material is guaranteed by Panini” it doesn’t always mean it was worn by the player on the card. It could be a LeBron James patch card but the jersey was game used by Max Christie. Other companies like Upper Deck would specifically say “the enclosed game worn material was worn by LeBron James in an official NBA game”, Panini does not.
Ace was not in the wrong. Just because you think you have a card that will grade psa10 if it’s not in the registry it’s not worth that much. What if the card drops significantly in value during that time below the cost price offered? Would the customer offer to pay back the extra valuation? I don’t think so.
I'm fortunate enough to live not far from PSA in NJ. I now ONLY drop off and pick up orders. I have 0 trust. Buy raw, grade yourself, don't trust anyone
Anyone wonder why the insurance company is not the one making offers? Where they not insured and thus feeling responsibility? Guessing lucky they were not put out of business but perhaps lawsuits will change that.
Not sure if you mentioned, but another way PSA is growing is now offering grading through many GameStop's for $19.99 a sports card, less for TGC and free shipping if you have the GameStop rewards membership.
@@Will_The_Rippernothing seems to be moving there. You’d think they’d put a PSA up on the PSA website letting folks know what is going on… at the end of the day, these are first world problems…. All the eBay authentication stuff seemed to be paused too…
If you look at Bedard Young Guns Rookie proportionally to total hockey cards graded vs Wemby and basketball cards graded you see Bedard has almost 2x as many, proportionally, to Wemby. How many Young Guns were printed? The 1/1 hasn't been pulled. The box price has cratered by 50% even with the Gold not pulled. UD couldn't have printed more of this stuff. Most of this stuff is still warehoused god knows where. Great video guys!
The content here has gotten better and better, and its really inspiring to see as an aspiring hobby creator myself. Congrats to the team on a new year!
If a particular player's patch card does not contain a swatch from said player, the card company may as well put a manufactured patch in there because that's all I would value it at. Whether it's a beautiful multi-colour patch or a plain white "napkin", the thrill & value for me is knowing that the on-card player actually wore that jersey in a game.
The cards stolen were raw. How on earth can you expect the cards to be reimbursed based on (potential) graded value? You think if something happened to PSA they would offer anything outside of maybe your grading cost? Ace is doing everything they possibly could to make things right.
Im not a new person in the hobby and I think your takes on the patch and jerseys being of players not depicted on the cards is absolutely insane. How can it not matter to you wether its from the player depicted on the card, or of some fat bum that works at Panini?? I know its been from other players, allegedly, but at this point who knows right? The WHOLE point is that the patches and jersey swatches are from the players depicted!
I would think that a grading company would have enough insurance to cover the cost of the cards. Seems like the best way to pay out would be pull the average grade that all the cards submitted receive and then pay % of the value above that. We know everything won't grade GM NT-10. But it definitely feels like they are lowballing all of their customers.
Interesting video today. Consider: Because of the recent Pallasades Fire(s), imagine the number of expensive and regular sports cards destroyed just this week.. Suddenly, all of my cards have just become just a bit more ' Uncommon if not rare, as some in Southern California do have a variety of the popular cards, that so sorry, can not be easily replaced. Food for Thought. ' ✌️❤❤
Fanatics/Topps is opening a first store in London this year as well. They had a Topps card store pop up for Christmas which seemed to do well. Was nice to be able to go and buy Chrome Baseball in person.

Futera have issued cricket cards for over 30 years. The Indian market for cricket could be huge if handled in the right way. Germany is probably the right move for PSA rather than London given Germany resides within the European Union which allows easy shipping to Italy, Spain, Portugal etc etc and I expect that is the reason why London wasn't chosen. There are plenty of service providers for UK to the EU shipments through Royal Mail, DPD. DHL etc there is the complication of Customs harmonization so although there are no duties there is customs clearance and value added tax to consider. Intra EU shipments are free flowing. Or maybe PSA are just following Dave and Adam's Europe ?

At least it's not a manufactured patch. Now if it says not from any particular game or event, that would lead you to believe it IS from the player so you'd have a case.
I wish the day will come where you can use your phone/app and use AI to scan and grade your own cards at home. That will most likely NEVER happen, but I wish there was an app out there that can pre-scan your card before to submit it to get a grade to check the quality of the card and to tell if it is even worth spending the money to send it out to a grading company. I mean hell, we have self driving cars, but we still can not grade or pre-screen our own cards??
Are there any other grading card companies out there besides the major grading companies? How expensive is PSA when it comes to grading card. New to the game
Graded cards are safer in bank safety deposit accounts. If valuable cards are known to be held somewhere (aka, a grading company), they are a target. It is much more ambiguous with banks because they are used for many other things not just cards. Plus they have proper security and federal and state protections.
