I agree all G nibs are best for beginners, but if you are fearless and can afford a bunch of Hunt 101 and Leonardt ef Principal nibs you will learn from the get-go to be delicate from the beginning. Every person is different when they learn a new skill. It all has to do with how you hold the pen, how much pressure you use, and in which angle you are holding your pen when you write, and if you are very observant and conscious of how it should be done you will progress much faster. I am not a fan of writing the same letter 100 times. I believe it is more important how to learn to pair up the letters and try and use it in a text you like. If it is modern calligraphy or copperplate/Spencerian/Engrosser script you will learn it is important to pair up the new letterforms from the beginning...that will save you time.
And as professional Calligraphers say, Dance with the pen don't force it.

aviaja petersen right. I think writing the same letter is a bit boring haha. I planned to write short quotes or anytthing cause thats what I like to do. I still havent try any oblique holder. Bought one and waiting for it to arrive. And I do plan to practice delicate holding from the beginning but at the same time I got myself one of the G’s nibs incase the others are too overwhelming

Thank you very much for this video! It's really interesting to see a written example for each nib, not only a description!

Hi dear amazing video ❤️ could I please ask you if Nikko G will be okay on normal papers ? I have spend a lot of money on smooth papers while I am practicing and I feel if I can get a nib which is fine on normal printing papers I can save up bit of money .. currently I use hunt 101 .

Will the Tachikawa T25 hold all these nibs? Is it a universal nib holder?

I am somewhat new to calligraphy and I was wondering what kind, or brand, of oblique pen holder you would recommend...?
    Thanks for the video!

      Great question Linnae!
I see a lot of beginners use the wrong oblique pen holder and hence, encounter frustration. If you plan to invest around $10-$20, aim to purchase a brass-flanged oblique pen holder that has been adjusted for your choice of nib.
The oblique pen holder that I use and LOVE is made by my mentor Master Penman Michael Sull. Most of Mike's pen holders cost about $50 and I feel they are absolutely worth the investment. 😊

It maybe be because your paper is fibrous , try using a smooth paper i personally like rodia notepads they are extremely good and for the ink I use somi ink
