Wow the skin cancer diagnosis must be a lot for u rn. I will definitely be praying and thinking of u! I loved how emma talked about how she’s struggling to navigate through life rn. I feel the exact same way!!! Im in college and I still don’t know what I want to do after I graduate and its just so stressful!!!
Why waste money on college if you don’t know what you want to do? 😂

Hey Heather! I am a dermatology nurse and it sounds like you need an excision to just remove a little more tissue. It’s a minor procedure typically done in office. Depending on location of your biopsy site you may have just internal stitches and steri strips on the out side. The junctional dysplastic nevus is not skin cancer but can turn into it if not treated. Let me know if you have any questions I can help with. ❤️ -Jamie
Hey! I work at a dermatologist and they are required to send a certified letter when a procedure is cancelled or if they cant get in touch with the patient. But having a Dysplastic nevus is not CANCER! It can turn into cancer. At our office we only remove a nevus that is moderate to severe atypia. They would like to remove it because it has a chance to become melanoma which is the highest skin cancer there is. I hope that help. 😊

My recommendation for Ellie would be to get BABYLIGHTS they are very thin natural “sunkissed” looking highlights rather than chunky highlights. Also they may not be able to lift it to blonde right away because her hair is so dark it may be an orangey-color but u have to trust the process and make sure they use a higher developer and toner

Hello Heather. I had skin cancer 4 years ago and have educated myself in all things involving skin cancer. I go every 6 months to get my skin checked.
Dysplastic Nevi is not cancer, but could be a precursor for melanoma. It is a mole that is in between benign and melanoma. It could be mild, moderate or severe. Depending on what yours is will determine the next step. I would just it removed so you don’t have to worry about it later on.
I hope this helps a bit to set your mind at ease.

Terrible way to give someone their test results. I’d find a new dr for that reason alone. Junctional Nevus is is usually non cancerous. Sounds like precancerous changes and they want to remove to prevent spread. I had that a few times. I’m no dr though but I hope that’s all it turns out to be. Praying for nothing but good news.
Exactly, like over the phone would’ve been better because she can talk her through it and address questions right then and there… I get the appointment was cancelled but she literally could’ve used the time it took to write the letter to give her the news on the phone, it was just a shitty thing to put someone through overall

Stay strong. My sister is going through radiation and went through two surgeries in the last couple months !! I choose to believe that everything will be fine. So stay strong and it’ll be alright. Much love.

I had a displastic nevous on my back. I had to have it removed, they cut it out and it was such a deep hole. I had 20 internal stitches and like 15 external stitches. Since it was removed I have to have body checks every 6 months to make sure nothing else comes up.

Heather over the Elizabeth situation I can tell you my husband is Mexican and it’s not just she lives in her parents house but it’s a culture thing. My husbands parents are the same way

I’m Mexican and I’ve NEVER been able to sleep over anyone’s house…. I’m almost 20 🤦🏻♀️ so yeah it’s def a culture thing 😭 honestly if I ever have kids, I’d probably be the same cause you cant trust anyone these days! I wouldn’t be at peace with my child under someone else’s care over night
@@aunicorn3812 yeah coming from a caribbean household, it’s definitely culture. but similar to you, i cant blame our parents for having their worries. i always heard “why you want to go sleep in someone else’s bed” or “you no have your own house” which it’s somewhat funny in retrospect, but you really never know and everyone’s going to do what they can to protect their own kid

I agree with you Heather about the dr. You need to be comfortable with your dr. I’m sorry they sent a diagnosis in the mail. That is insane to me that they think it’s ok to deliver news like this in the mail. I’m praying for you!
