I'm not Christian and I love this, because if you generalize the higher power the moral remains universal: Those who are different should not be cast out; we are all equal.
+CDG The great thing is that Bette isn't even a Christian she's Jewish and this song goes for everyone which makes it really amazing
interesting, how the lyrics differ in different versions and different translations,.... there is so much meaning to this song. It should not be washed away.

i sang God Help The Outcasts at a karaoke party. didn't know there was an extended version, and i certainly didn't have control over the video picks. needless to say, i won't be doing karaoke again anytime soon.

I heard this for the first time today, well sung by a group of youngsters performing for parents at their Christmas concert at Queens Park Arts Centre in Aylesbury, UK. We should all be reminded that there are still millions of "outcasts" who we need to reach out to.
It's no wonder that the Hunchback of Notre Dame is one of the great film from the Disney Renaissance! Sending love from Malaysia! I'm so blessed that my younger autistic brother bought the soundtrack and it's now in our iPods.
This should have played at the end credits instead of All-4-One singing “Someday”.

Back when Disney used to get people with actual talent to do pop versions... nowadays we have The Jonas Brothers, Ashley Tisdale, Demi Lovato, and other Disney channel stars, who only get on the soundtracks because little kids know who they are.

"You made the Outcasts, Don't Cast them Out"...
How ironic. Some that people would call "outcasts" are actually reprobates that rejected God. At the same time, they seek to bring those who actually DO follow God and keep His Commandments down to THEIR level.
They want all of God's benefits, but don't realize that those benefits come from His Word. Not drinking or fornicating, having a specific dress code, gender roles, the specifics of sexual relations and what is/isn't permissible... It's there for a reason. It's there for the good of humanity.
Yet these people hate God's rules so much, that they rebel against Him. Then, when the inevitable consequence of their rebellion comes about, they ironically blame God for their actions.
I feel bad for you.
Way to completely miss the point of this song. Also, "God" only had ten commandments, and if you're going to say he had more you're breaking the whole "judge not, lest ye be judged" portion of it. I hope since the time you made this comment, since I see it wasn't recent, you have become a better person but as most cases of your kind I highly doubt it.
You think God doesn't want you to drink? Well you are right ina way but don't ever forget Jesus's first miracle was turning water into wine. Please don't be such a hard line against alcohol we each should have good judgment. Be careful.
