I could tell the guy that initially said he was a Christian was just from a Christian family. As he seemed to not understand Bible basics/ the basics of the Christian faith. I honestly cant see someone that understands the gospel, experiences the power of the Holy Spirit, and has a relationship with Jesus turning to Islam. I know they say its the final revelation, but honestly I can't see anywhere in the koran that is actually better than what we have in Christ. I can't see improvement on any points. Grace is way better than trying to earn God's love or forgiveness. Having secured salvation is 100% better than not really knowing. I respect Muslims, but I genuinely can't see how Islam is better.

I don't know how difficult is to understand.
1. You cannot use the claim to verify the truth of that very same claim. So it doesn't matter who came up with Islam or the definition of a Muslim. If a person's actions or words vehemently and repeatedly go against Islam, they cannot be a Muslim, irrespective of what the Quran says.
2. The New Testament is the earliest historic source on the life, actions & teachings of Jesus. You don't have to accept it as true if you don't want to but if you appeal to them as evidence, you cannot pick and choose what you want out of it. That's called cherrypicking and it is dishonest. Secondly, it makes no sense to believe a source that comes 600 years later that contradicts the much, MUCH earlier sources.
3. Jesus claims that he's the Son of God and God is His Father. That is shirk so there's no way he can be a Muslim, much less an Islamic prophet.

All humanity shares the same essence, spirit, soul and body, yet there is one humanity made up of many persons. one man is no more human than another. Likewise the Godhead shares the same essence and being, The Father the Son and the Holy Spirit. They are all equal.

I’m not religious. But on studying historical fact it’s clear that Islam is a contradiction of itself. If the Islamist’s delve into their history they would find that when the first Arabs took over Jerusalem they prayed to the north, Mecca wasn’t even there. The Arabs that conquered Jerusalem didn’t have a specific religion. And to me it seems like they took aspects from the two main abrahamic religions which at the time had great power, and merged aspects into one. To say Jesus was Muslim is a false statement. Mohammed didn’t appear in any text till around 60-70 years after his death. Islam wasn’t even formed when Jesus was alive.

God is simultaneously one and distinct as persons. He has the Oneness aspect and the Distinctive aspect. At time He manifests His Oneness aspect and at time He manifests His distinctive aspect as in the teachings and life of Jesus.
