    Finally a boss who actually realises the driver is the best asset to the company and not the vehicle..what a refreshing change as most companies now expect a lot from drivers in return for very little

      really late answer, but he does that to keep the drivers, its cheaper to let a guy put on alot of extra stuff and he will stay in the company, than giving him a shit truck, and have to get new drivers all the time

      It's a smart company! "he takes care of the truck like it's a second home" Going to guess that those extra lights and DVD player has paid for itself many many times.

      Hat of? A man like him that dont even tell his drivers to behave on the roads is not worth respect. His drivers act as they own the roads and force any oncoming trafic in to the ditch

    Well, if you absolutely depend on getting really good drivers, as he said, then allowing people to customize their cars, and make them the way they want them to be is a pretty cheap way to make your drivers happy, and therefore loyal.
    Sounds a lot like common sense to me, actually.

    i'm from sweden, and i think that we here in scandinavia have great winter driving skills, and good equipment for the task, BUT there is one thing that we need to learn from americans, MORE TANDEMS!!!! it's usually only logging trucks that has tandem here, of course systems like Onspot and "slirej" are scandinavian inventions, but tandem combined with those systems is KING! well, yes it cost's more, and you get more tyre wear with tandem, But hell, YOU GET WHERE YOU WANT IN THE SNOW!!!

    Hi, have you already started the restoration of your old 141 Scania, which I spotted at the back of your yard?? I have passed your company by incidence in summer 2009 when I was on holiday in Norway by motorbike. Gorgeous landscape and nice people up there. This road after I have passed your company was really tight for trucks... My 141 project is nearyl finished, but my F89 is awaiting restoration... best wishes from Germany and from V8Operator !

    would you like to spend enormus sums to build four-lane highways with hundresds of bridges and long tunnels for only 5 million people? Yes this road isn't the best example, but in general I can say that the norwegian road network is sufficent and in a good shape

  • @KamionKing
    @KamionKing 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @xpsghawkx actually, while I agree that our roads are 70% nice and straight, the rest are not. Based on your profile, you are in Norway, and I doubt that you have ever driven on our roads. Western states, like Colorado, Wyoming, Utah etc. fall under that rest 30%. For example, when it snows in those states, most of the time our major interstate 80 gets closed. Imagine what happens to the smaller highways and routes which you have to take to deliver freight. Your comment is ignorant.

    @123456789mischief Thats very common in scandinavia, to have a tag axle and not a boogie drive, even many log trucks are 6x2, Its very much preferable, trucks more manaurable, and you can add a lot of press on the drive. Some also have 6x4, but still they have lift on the rear axle, to add press, if its icy, you do not need 4 spinning wheels, you need pressure on the wheels.

    it`s not the worst road here in norway! try to driv the old Åkra fjorden then you got a narrow road. it is to plases to met other cars, and on the rest or the road you have 30 centimeter clerens thats the worst road in norway.
    lukly it closed for some year ago! now we got a new road that haf a meter wider :)

    Worst road? Hmmm, i have seen many roads around in Northern Norway that is much much worse, people actually take another rout that takes longer, but have better roads. And these roads i have seen are kinda on they're last straw, you can't drive 2 sec without hitting a bump or a hole in the road that could be up to 1000 km long.

    if it was illegal to sale trucks without tandem or front axle drive, then it would be more fair play for the companys as everyone will pay for that extra cost, and the roads won't get blocked as soon as it falls one inch of snow!
    But of course US trucks also looks better than our ugly compact cab-over shit, but our trucks are better made and has a lot more safety features and comfort.
