Hi Brett and others. This would be a simple fix, Please replace the microswitches on door latch. there are 3 of them 2 are in Normally Open position and one of them in Normally close. The top most and lower most swtiches on the latch are normally open and the middle one is normally close. You can buy this part DE96-00414A and fix it or just replace the microswitches on them.
Stanley Mathews you were right Stanley, however after switching mine close and open a few times with a meter on it to test. It started working, resistance was higher though ....ordering my extra one now. it was a NO just not sure if the NC one would give me the same results on failure though.
walt burgess You are welcome!. The part may not show any problem once its removed. The multimeter may show that it is working proper. The real problem starts when there is a load applied to the microswitch. Its always better to go ahead and change all the 3 of them. Good Luck!!!
This doesn't make sense to me. If the unit works when door is closed and stops when door is opened? Or does 1 of the 3 switches control a circuit on the main board?

I have same model and it does the same thing. It is two weeks old. I've even unplugged it from the upper cabinet and guess what, it still keeps running. Returning it and getting another brand.

I'm tired of wasting money on expensive junk. I'll be switching brands as soon as I can find something that ISN'T junk...

It is coz the door is not shut properly I was also facing the same issue... Push the door tightly.. It works

My less than 3 year ole Samsung did the same thing stayed on till it killed itself.

Don't have the same brand but mine just started doing this and it isn't using any heat. :|
