I dont know how some of these guys even make this elite series...when is the last time scott has been in the top5...do they make that much money coming in 50th place every week...I sure chose the wrong profesion....scott....stop taking so much time with the fish...longer you leave him in the water the more time he's got to come off....the biggun thing kills me every time...biggun...biggun...3 lber...lol...cmon
Man he stresses me with how long he takes to get the fish in the boat. Matt not Canterbury take anywhere near that time. He has let the stress from losing fish in the past haunt him. Put them in the boat Scott! We have faith in you!

100%! When you watch him in practice, he seems to bring them in a lot faster. But I think you're right, the tournament pressure stresses him out and he seems to lose them by giving them too much time in water.
Yup, playing out the 3 pounders like they’re 6 pounders. Watch DC fish a jerk bait, he just leans on them and they’re in the boat so quick they don’t have a chance to get off.
Nothing worse than losing a fish that you really need.

This series can be so tough to watch because I feel every fish you lose Scott and it effects my day lol it’s crazy to think how you would do if you didn’t lose all these big fish all the time😢

I think you need to fight them diff. Just get them to the boat like your just fishing for fun! Worth a shot, playing them forever in the water just gives them more time to spit the hooks
God allows us to struggle to keep us humble depend on him which actually gives us strength

Really enjoy watching and listening to these longer tourney videos. Either sitting with the fam watching and or out in the garage rigging tackle in the boat they are better than watching any weekend fishing show!! Keep it up! My kids love watching they would rather be a fishing pro then any other athlete.
Buy them a boat and pay for entry fees and be their biggest supporter they can do it I wish my kids liked fishing more and I could support them or I would totally

Definitely the rod! Thing bent like a flipping stick when he leaned into them jerkbait fish🤷♂️ my kistler klx med all but folds in half and I never loose fish on treble hook baits... just my opinion...keep grinding scott!!!

Its hard to watch when you loose fish scotty. I only fish small tourneys and it makes me sick when it happens couldnt imagine that on a elite tourney. Your the man scotty it just wasnt meant to be. Livin the dream has its ups and downs

About an hour ago I signed up for the bass fishing team at my college. I hope I can get on. But, it's because men like you going out of your way to not only share your tips, not only give us high quality content CONSISTENTLY, not only do it with a smile on your face, but doing it at the same time you're one of the best bass fishermen in America, possibly in American history. I am no pro but why do you keep clicking the button on the caster ? Everytime you do that it gives the fish a tiny bit of room to shake free. Keep the line tight and adjust the drag accordingly. The reel you have are top of the line, the drag is super smooth, let the gear do the work! Maybe I'm wrong but that's what I see.
Scott you’ve got to stop playing these fish so much. I mean I’m not one to tell you, you’re very successful. Get them in the boat! Also, some people you can tell have been in boats and other people have not. The second guy wouldn’t get out of the way haha

I disagree, I think you performed well and just lost some BIGN's that would've helped you make the cut.
My advice to you (I know you're a true Pro) is to quite taking it easy and just straight up POWER FISH and muscle them to the boat and get them in! None of that opening your spool or worrying about drag, just leave enough drag to set the hook and crank 'em in! This is for money, not recreation!

Stop fishing those unproven upstart rods!!!! A Loomis GLX would have kept that fish pegged. A Loomis or any other rod that worries more about performance than marketing.
Don't be scared to fish places everyone no on lay . Paradise point at certain times, lacoosa, can't say which island,, but many places at beezwax , you could easily catch 12 or not. I understand you need 20 or more, but most locals no the great spots,but good luck
Okay i totally understand you are a pro bass fishermen but why do pros have the drag SUPER loose on a spinning reel( and reel through the drag) but their bait casters the drag is cranked down hard 😂😂

Its ironic how we address a hooked fish on a derby day compared to a fun fish day. Just reel the damn thing in and grab him. Or boat flip em. Less tension on thevline with shaking and jumping . I don't know. Just crankem in and get their butts in the boat.

I hooked one fish in a three day period on my vacation with a jerkbait. It was close to my PB largemouth and lost it at the kayak. Those jerkbaits will catch em but they'll also lose em.

Start setting the hook like Hillary and Canterbury and you will catch 9 out of ten of those fish Scott!
Not sure why his marshal's agree to record him for his gain... Marshals are there to learn and keep the pros honest... not to film them all day.

Scott is an all time great and I absolutely love his whole game and especially his content, and root for him weekly. But dude, you're giving all us fans heart attacks from taking so long to land them! Every time the fish is over 2 lbs you try to wear it out before landing it, and it's costing you a bunch of fish. Come on dude, boat flip them like Arey and Canterbury and stop worrying about it so much! You do it in practice perfectly, but come tourney time you get paranoid. Let's go, you got this!

Man I love this series but especially while I'm getting ready to go fishing. I'm at Okeechobee for the first time in my life. Been a bucket list thing for 30 years!!! Caught a couple yesterday, nothing big though.......yet. I've lived in Florida for 15 years, no idea why it took me this long to fish lake O!!!
Scott you are the man! Your allowed to have a bad tourney once in a while. I do think I'd try some triple grips if I was you though. Or perhaps a more parabolic rod. Just my thoughts. You are the pro lol. Seems your jerk fish are only getting the back hook. Again just my thoughts. Keep up awesome edits. Your crew is awesome!
I feel for Scott and yes he does let it get him Sux2suX. Scott appears to not set the hook hard enough, especially compared to Matt and Lord know's Canterbury. He seems to lose a lot of fish. On camera anyway.

I see other comments about this also, but I feel if he gets the fish in the boat faster he’d be a little less stressed. Maybe just reel them in, still probably do one or two zigzags to keep them on, but try not to walk around the whole boat before landing it. No matter what I’m still gonna keep watching you, and supporting the best I can. I grew up, watching Roland, Jimmy, and Hank and so many others, yes it can always be a grind and sometimes frustrating, but everyone has faith in you Scott!
At least you caught fish. Down here in Galveston, big names are getting skunked in pro speckle trout tournaments because of how wacked out Galveston bay is. Sometimes it just doesn’t go your way no matter how good of an angler you are.

I’m no pro or anything like you but over the years u have to be patient Martin, u get very finicky and jumpy on big bass and you just have to sit there and wait until you know for sure u have that big one on, again I’m no pro but also I love watching ur videos and it also helps me learn a lot too
