1:37 being vegetarian I am an unbiased person to answer this problem. Prarie grasses aren't designed to be cut when young and continously. They can easily take a full chop when they're very big because of the root energy, but when eaten when young they grow back slowly and can often die. In the past, prarie ruminants traveled in packs to avoid predation. They would decimate one area, but because it was a one time thing the grasses came back from their rizomes. Please pasture better everyone.

It's a really sad story. I feel so bad for them. They need help and opportunities.

Ive been watching as much as I can to get a grasp of fiber production and the new wave of agricultural science. Its deeply disturbing to me that the last man to speak has the solution the rest of the world is now using, balancing species, mob grazing, and yet he wants his sons to take another path. He has freedom, beauty, and security, even if the worlds climate is changing and theres some bad management decisions still hindering the region, but theres no better occupation than agriculture. I hope mongolians realize they can optimize their income the way american farmers are doing nowadays. and I hope they do it while the country's people are still free

I wish I could bypass the middleman and buy their shorn fleece directly from them.

I think the middle man may keep the land from being over used.

0:54 During the socialist years, they used to limit the number of goats per herder. Now that everyone is free to raise however many goats they want, so Mongolia's grassland is rapidly desertifying...

American companies should invest in pens and ship agricultural products to feed the goats. Restrict the goats in pens and do not herd them in the open field. Just let the cold weather stimulate the fine fiber. Do not use the grass and roots to feed the goats. Agricultural products are not that expensive.

Or buy synthetic materials instead of torturing millions of goats.
