This case reeks of lack-of-institutional-control. UM claims no other coaches knew about this. So UM had a staffer conduct his illegal advanced scouting campaign for three years and UM didn't know about it?!?! That is the textbook definition of lack-of-institutional-control!
When you have a 'celebrity' in a position of institutional leadership, whether it be Knute Rockne, Bill Belichick, Jim Harbaugh or Mr. Trump even, you're going to get rule breaking, as the rules are for ordinary mortals and don't apply to them. Upon their departures, it's often left for the 'little people' to clean up. 😐
The crime is analogous to paying players while it’s legal to pay players but the NCAA rules state not to pay players using paper bags. Michigan tried to get cute by using lunch boxes to pay players and the NCAA and big ten and the rest of college football wants the crime to be cheating for paying players instead of the nuances of lunch boxes and paper bags.
The reason Moore is being punished for deleting the text messages, is because that is destroying evidence. Example- if you are accused of a hit and run at 2:00 AM, and are seen washing your car at 3AmM, that is destroying evidence. Keep in mind, consequences aren’t only punitive but serve as a deterrence for future similar actions. The NCAA will have consequences so destroying evidence isn’t worth the risk for future wrong doers. 😊Deleting text messages are also in legal terms taking actions that show an awareness of wrong doing.
Caller nick has zero reading comprehension. Sherrone deleted texts as soon as the stalions news was released. The ncaa took his phone and had to forensically image and found the deleted texts. Only at that point did he acknowledge he deleted them. Also, the article directly states he had a meeting setup with Stalions and kostner. Kostner was the one who got Stalions on the sideline at cmu. Basic research and comprehension.
Teams do all sorts of things within the rules to gain an advantage. Thats not cheating. Sign-stealing is NOT cheating. Its not against the rules. This has been covered extensively.
Bold take as UM is on trial for 6 level one violations as a repeat offender and the NCAA is throwing in the lack-of-institutional-control tag. Bold take, my friend.
@@hmldjr why would a guy with a michigan state football helmet as their profile picture hope Michigan receives no punishment? that’s, like, the complete opposite of what they (probably) want to happen.
Let them talk. All that matters will be handled by people that wear suits. It will take time and ultimately end in a fine and maybe some scholarship limitations. The ncaa doesnt punish players anymore.
As a Michigan fan, it’s clear some wrongdoing took place and the university needs to be held accountable regardless of the degree of how much it helped the on field play. The biggest thing is I don’t believe the team needed Stalions in order to win the natty in 2023 but regardless, he was there and this happened. I just hope by next season we can leave this tired saga in the past. Own up to whatever wrongdoing we did, take the punishment, and lets get back to football. Go Blue.
I agree to some extent but it would be dumb to take the insane punishment that the NCAA wants to give without fighting it especially when the evidence is scant at best
@@thomasb.smithjr.8401 Why does the NCAA need that? I didn't realize this was a court of law. Also, the NCAA employs hundreds of attorneys. I imagine many of those attorneys are working on this case and were careful before they hit 'send'.
@@timeisahumanconstruct9251Don't count on it. Despite the veneer of power, the NCAA may be at its' lowest ebb of institutional control in its' entire history. UM is likely counting on that as this looks most like a battle of attrition - who has more stamina, manhours and financial/legal resources ? This is now a Trump world, afterall.

Comparing it to speeding is the dumbest comparison
I didn’t compare the act to speeding. I was comparing the obtaining of evidence. Call the show.

29:25 all the credit for the teams success 🙄

56:27 Michigan leaked the response (selectively) that the yahoo article is based on, in my opinion.
Big Ten plays on FOX, not ESPN but Sky-cam is ONLY on ESPN so how does Cheater boy get Big Ten signals from Sky-cam???
