Thank you! I might not have much in life, but what I do have is pure gold and vibes. Very happy with everything and everyone around me. Thanks for commenting.
As a person who has lived off the grid for over twenty six years I really appreciate things like battery reviews. I know you guys test them in real time and you don't sugar coat your opinions. Will you use the other smaller batteries for a separate system - maybe as a backup or for a single induction cooktop ? Thanks and happy holidays. When is the next Catan gathering ? Those are hilarious ! I would also suggest you look into an infrared water kettle
Montague a great place to be . Course my Montague in western Massachusetts is 125 miles from the coast along with my vessel on the hard in the yard go figure . Thank for this week's episode , enjoy those fuddy Dee's, suds , brews or other wise known as Beeah.
Hey. Pete from Uganda here. Interesting to see you have these. I am restoring a catamaran in Dar es Salaam over the winter.. I am looking at these exact batteries, but not much info out there
Cool to see the Lithium battery setup. Thats definitely where we plan on going with our boat. Curious if you had to upgrade your alternator in order to facilitate the higher charge rates needed with the lithium battery? Just before I transitioned from skippering the gaff ketch Duen to working in the Coastguard the owner of Duen decided to upgrade to a lithium house bank and the difference in available power for the same size batteries was incredible. The lights were literally brighter, all the electric appliances seemed to work better. This was a huge improvement for our youth trips where we had 15 teenagers living onboard for a week. As we cooked partially with propane but also have a full size electric oven onboard that drains an incredible amount of power. He didn't have to upgrade alternators because he already had some very high capacity alternators to keep his large 8D house bank charged, but I think he had to have maybe a different charge controller or charge regulator installed. Thunder Child is looking great!
I just run everything through a DC DC converter which is nice but limited. I’m not too clear on the path forward with smart alternators or any of that but I hope to speed up charging this year.
@@SailorBarry Yes Duen is a great boat with a world beating history. Built in 1939. Fished the north sea, evacuated Norwegians to the Shetlands during the war, then bought by an American couple who gave her the full size gaff ketch rig and sailed her around the world for 15 years. Then the current owner met her by happenstance in the South Pacific when he was travelling at 18, saw her in Suwarrow, a remote Pacific Atoll. Got on as crew and sailed with the American couple for a year, and ended up buying the boat at 23 years old in the Carribean and starting sail training youth programs with her, which they are still doing today, just in BC.
If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world. J.R.R. Tolkien 🧙🏼♂️🇬🇧🫶🏻 The Biplane cat is not just electric its also manpowered back up .. and can carry a full sized van or minibus on deck. The sail masts are home built and wingsails so super efficient and can be managed by one man . It can even sail backwards by rotaing the rig booms outwards. .. It can also de power at any point of the wind .. because the masts can swivell. There are Wharrams and Dudly Dix cats that have been built using the same configuration ...one wharram biplane rig also uses junk rig sales. Happy birthday Hayliegh and congratulations on all three Anniversaries.

700Ah LFP will power your basic domestic needs for a week 😅
I have 560Ah and a rainy cloudy week is manageable😊
Thanks for the tips!
AND You can see the cell voltages 🎉😊 via the app, if the battery has active cellbalancing ? it is really nice
Yes it does!
Is that a cement boat?
Which one? Thunder child is wood.
🤘!!!
Wooo!!
