  • เผยแพร่เมื่อ 20 ต.ค. 2016
  • Supported by Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism as well as Azerbaijan’s Consulate General in Los Angeles, five new documentary films on Azerbaijan were produced in the United States. The films are titled as follow:
    “Azerbaijan: Land of Hope & Inspiration”;
    “Cultural & Natural History of Azerbaijan”;
    “Baku: Jewel of the Caspian”;
    “Jews of Azerbaijan: A Model for Muslim-Jewish Coexistence”;
    “Christian & Muslim Villages of Azerbaijan”.
    The documentaries provide information about Azerbaijan’s rich and colorful culture, history, traditions, beautiful nature and tourism opportunities; they highlight the steady development of Azerbaijan as an independent nation since 1991, and the country’s positive multiculturalism and successful model of multi-faith tolerance and harmony, which allow for Muslims, Christians, Jews and representatives of other faiths to continue to live together in peace and mutual respect.
    The films have already been aired by over 20 TV channels of the United States. By the end of 2016, the films will be shown by 50 television stations located in 21 U.S. states, including California, reaching 19 million homes.
    The documentaries were filmed and produced by ECONEWS Television and Radio Series. ECONEWS is a three-times EMMY-nominated weekly series that has produced over 600 environmental television shows since 1984, and 2000 Environmental Directions Radio shows since 1977, becoming the longest-running environmental program in the United States. ECONEWS is a United Nations Environment Programme Global 500 Laureate. ECONEWS shows have also received awards in the Hometown USA Video Festival, AVEDA U. S. Environmental Film Festival and other film festivals.
    ECONEWS Host Nancy Pearlman and her film crew visited Azerbaijan to film the documentary shows in both Baku and various regions of Azerbaijan.

    I've been in Azerbaijan, and many other countries. Azerbaijan is very tolerant. I can definitely say that, outside of Israel, Azerbaijan is the best, and most safest place for Jews to live. In this country there's no anti-Semitism at all. Almost all other locals love Jewish people. They live in harmony for centuries.

      @@user-nw7im5wh2y You talk about what happened in 1988-1991. But armenians started ethnic cleansing first in 1987, in cities of Armenia (Kaphan and Meghri). Many civilians were killed in Armenia and all azerbaijanis were expelled. 100 years ago your nation had a problem with Ottoman turks (currently Türkiye), that's why armenians living in Armenia hated all turks including Azerbaijani turks, despite the fact we lived peacefully during Soviet Union and azerbaijanis had nothing to do with your dark history. As a result, you expelled all Azerbaijanis from Armenia and killed some civilans of Kaphan and Meghri and after that azerbaijanis started expell armenians from Azerbaijan. Of course, Soviet propaganda played a big role as well. Fact, there are still over 30.000 armenians living in Azerbaijan and no azerbaijanis in Armenia.
      Therefore, it's better to search the history from international resources, not from armenian history books and it would be better to ask yourself, why so many nations are living in Azerbaijan peacefully..So the problem was armenians, not azerbaijanis.

    One of the best things about Azerbaijan is that people really do not care about religion. I am atheist but I never needed to mention it. it is the same for muslims, jewish, and christians as well. People just dont care about it and they find extremely private. That is why there is never any type of religious issues in Azerbaijan. It is also thanks to a very secular stance of the government. Religious freedom in Azerbaijan is one of the most beautiful things in the world.

    There were other tourists, and when they saw my Kipa, some of them arrived at me and introduced themselves as Iranians and even took mutual pictures of us.
    I went to two large villages with Jewish citizens who hadn't leave for Israel and they told me that they cannot remember even one single Anti-Semitic incident. Furthermore, Jewish who left to Israel keep coming back to their houses every summer for a vacation. Fascinating.

      @Karrole 88 You are very naïve and not knowing all the facts. It's not a white and black case. If only the Palestinians had accepted the two states solution from 29.11.1947 there was not a Palestinian problem. Instead they went to war against Israel and lost areas. They wanted all the area from the Jordan river to the sea and wanted all Jews to leave.
      That's are their intentions till these days. The P.L.O. organization was established in 1964 just for that purpose. In the six days war they lost more areas.
      Israel offered the Palestinians all their areas back. Not once but twice, but they rejected these offers. Like I said, their goal is to get territories back and not to establish an Arab state alongside Israel and live in peace.

    Baku, my mom, God bless her soul, used to talk about it with pleasant memories although we are Jewish. When I was about 10 we traveled from Wroclaw Poland to Khazagstan to see her dad. He lived extremely poor. But as kid I didnt mind. I brought with me table tennis racket and ball and I bounced it for hours. It was so out of place. This happened around 1961. We went to outdoor cinema and the movie was about skeletons fighting with swords. It was amazing. Anyway USSR didn’t seem to be anti semitic. Poland sure was but I don’t paint whole country with that.. Ok sorry for length. I do have to add that babies don’t select their parents. So let there be peace among all tribes.

    When we talk about relationship between Jews and Azerbaijan it couldn't go without mentioning Khazar empire, who were considered to be the ancestry of this country. Later on the ruling elite "Ashina" converted to Judaism followed by most of the people doing the same , who afterwards migrated to all over the Europe from 10th to 12th AD. Hence the term Ashkenazic jews has emerged. The name "Khazars" has been evolved into Azar-baijan over the period of time.

    This is wonderful. Why are some people blaming Muslim as Jew Haters? But I a Muslim was told by my parents to love the Jews because they are our cousins. We all hope for peace between Muslims and Jews. I think when peace comes to Palestine and Isreal the liars would disappear. Peace to all Jews and Muslims.

    Dear Mrs Pearlman,
    I have enjoyed watching your many videos. Yet in this case I must strongly object to an unhappy and if I may say stupid question you asked someone “Do you feel more Jewish or more Azeiri?” Such question, often raised by antisemites, puts into doubt the loyalty of Jews to the lands they inhabit. Besides that the issues are not even equal. Are you more a woman or an American? Are you more a peanut butter eater or a democrat? These are also nonsensical questions.
    Still I believe this was a lovely video that brought me wonderful memories of my trip to Azerbaijan.

      Yes, you are right, here, in Azerbaijan, we have a national hero, a Shaheed Jew Albert Agarunov (an only shaheed jew in the world I guess), he was a volunteer in the Karabakh war. And one day a journalist asked him why he IS here, meaning the same "Jewish or Azerbaijani", and after a short shock, Albert replied that because he LIVES here, and even after 30 years everyone criticizes this journalist for his stupid question. And "Azerbaijani" includes all our ethnicities like turk, lezgi, talish, jews etc. It means all people of Azerbaijan. When here someone asks who are you we call our nationality and the region we are from, because everybody is azerbaijani in here. So question "feel more jewish or azeri" is really stupid and originates from ignorance

For the loving sake of our Creator, God, and Loving of all his creation.Try to forget the evil in existence of this planet who want to keep us separated, we are family, it's in the Quran as well as Torah of Moses. Once and for all forget the "others," they trouble makers and evil. Ignore them and return to your Creator. I have known many Muslim who are turning to idolatry with the xtian church and abandoning their God, Creator. Almighty. There's no other God. Help one another instead, love one another. Lust, envy and hatred is not for us, only the enemies of the God of the universe are destructive and want us separated. Think about this and seek HIM only. Baruch Hashem!
