Warning! The 100k lump sum tax gets reevaluated after the first five years. Depending how much earn globally, the lump sum tax will increase to that of Switzerland.

Great video - the 100k program sounds like it ticks a lot of boxes.

Is this strategy compatible with potentially obtaining Italian citizenship through ancestry? Or is it better to be non-resident in Italy for tax purposes, have tax residency in a place like Panama, and only spend part of the year in Italy for less than 180 days.?

Hello, the italian citizenship is possible to obtained also via naturalization after 10 years of residency. This tax regime allows you to stay 15 years. Of course works through ancestry as well. So its perfectly compatible.

@@esentaxa Bad answer. he is not asking about naturalization; he asks by ancestry. if your parents (or I think down 3 generations) were Italians, you can claim Italian citizenship without many of the steps of naturalization - i think you do not even have to be in the country.

Read it on the multiple websites, but generally there is no overlap - lump sump is to make people come (back) to Italy, the only requirements are IIRC not having been a tax resident for X years and the flat rate be paid.
