In case you're wondering, the guy's actually German and his name is Mr. Schultz, from his accent alone you can tell that he most likely learned English as his second language after coming to America as an immigrant and I do like his accent BTW
Also Annesburg name is German in origin and some of the buildings there were designed in German colonial style, even some of the townsfolk there speak with German accent since the original settlers of that mining town were of German descent

I like the level of detail that went into the Saint Denis and Annesburg speeches. They felt like an actual salesman getting excited about a product they like.
My favourite revolver will still have to remain the Le Mat Revolver (though this one is probably second). It's slow to shoot but hits like a truck. Nine shots at that power is already appealing, but throw on the shotgun underneath? Forget about it. Do you know if they have unique dialogue for that one?

Same here! Nothing beats the Le Mat. I used to love the Schofield, and it was my main gun, but once I discovered the Le Mat, it was game over for the Schofield lol. I usually keep my lemat as my primary and my Mauser as my offhand because I like how many times I can shoot with the Mauser without having to reload.

@@UnchainedMelodie92 Good choices! I liked to dual-wield the Le Mats at end game. As for long weapons, I stuck with the Lever Action Shotgun and the Evans Repeater. Fun Fact: Th Schofield Revolver (the No.3 by Smith and Wesson), was chambered in .45 Schofield, which is actually weaker than the .45 Colt, and all .45 Colt revolvers can shoot .45 Schofield, but .45 Schofield was used for making in the .45 ACP, which has a similar ballistics. However, .45 Schofield has been kinda lost to time, with .45 Colt becoming more popular, even leading to the eventual making of .454 Casull (a cartridge that became the most powerful round after .44 Magnum), which then led to the development of the second strongest handgun on the market: .460 Magnum.
In other words, if you had a .45 Colt Single Action Army (Cattleman or Peacemaker) in that time frame, you can shoot .45 Schofield, which was done in the military, as they adopted .45 Schofield at that time. But, by all means, .45 Colt has more power than .45 Schofield, but, .45 Schofield was very effective itself.

.460 Magnum, 200 grain DPX is travelling at 2,300 fps and delivering 2,350 ft/lbs. of energy

Only .45 Colt and .45 Schofield are weaker than all these.
Also, the .440 Cor-Bon is a wildcat cartridge of .50 AE (.440 is necked down), and only Cor-Bon makes it, so that is considered a wildcat cartridge

I get what your saying completely but
It’s hard not to be condescending when you correct the same problem over and over again
What I mean by that is for example like I’ve had to correct countless people on 7.62x39 not being .308 diameter ITS .311 DIAMETER
And I end up getting snappy sometimes when people who just don’t know get defensive about it
but it’s important to remain calm in those situations (which I try to do)
Also sometimes you just get a RIDICULOUS statement or question and I can’t help but laugh
Like I had someone say to me the Sig 226 pistol shot .556 just no, no it doesn’t…😂

FOR PEOPLE THAT WANT FACTUAL INFORMATION ON THE .45 COLT v .45 SCHOFIELD:
Judging by the number of likes on this comment and the replies, I think this needs correction. The term "considerably weaker" is not accurate, at least I don't agree with "considerably".
I would like to preface this information that the difference between the 2 cartridges can be even further nullified (out of revolvers) if we're discussing modern loads using modern powders. But for the sake of the game, I'll assume you're talking about period-correct ammunition using black powder only.
As mentioned above, using modern loads, you can actually load both cartridges rather hot. What gun the cartdige is being used in plays into how hot it can be loaded. For example, a .45 colt can actually be loaded up to as hot or even hotter than .44 magnum loads *however*, this is not a possibility if you're going to be shooting it out of an old-school cowboy revolver such as the schofield or colt SAA. Such a load would explode the gun, since they're not designed for such pressures. This would be a load you'd fire out of a modern rifle or a Ruger Super Red Hawk revolver.
With the use of black powder only and remaining in the estimated 14500 PSI max pressure for most revolvers of this time, you can typically load the .45 colt 100-200 feet per second faster than the .45 schofield of equal bullet weight. While the extra boost in velocity is nice, and factually does make it carry more energy onto the target - exactly how much energy is not a huge difference, especially when it comes to hangun velocities.
The truth is that for most handgun cartridges with the exception of hotter magnum loads, all you're really doing is poking holes into your target. All of those gnarly exit wounds and pulverized flesh you hear about rarely ever exists with handguns due to their velocities. The truth of the matter is neither the colt .45 or .45 schofield cartridge is likely to even exit the human body from center mass impacts. They're simply not going fast enough - neither of them. While there is no hollow points in this time period, all bullets tend to mushroom on impact to some degree, giving them a slight level of expansion. Again however, neither cartidge is moving fast enough to reliably and consistently mushroom, even if it does sometimes. Not that mushrooming adds any extra damage really anyway, you'd really want to see expansion (hollowpoints) or fragmentation (velocity), both of which will not occur with such slow projectiles. Even if there were hollowpoints available for these bullets back in 1875, it wouldsn't matter. Both cartrdiges won't safely go past 900 FPS even with modern powder when fired from an old-school gun. Hollow points need over 1000 FPS to expand, and ideally pushing 1100 or more. This is why +P ammo is so common these days.
Because of this, the "percieved power" of the .45 colt over the .45 schofield is mathmaticall true, but when translated into real world scenarios, it makes no difference.
For this reason, claiming one of these rounds is "considerably more powerful" than the other is actually rather misleading. In actuality, if somebody was shot in the exact same spot with either bullet fired from a period-correct gun with period-correct load, the resulting damage would be identical.
Hope this helps and you guys found it interesting.

The Schofield was sold to the US Army for $13.50 a piece. I’m sure that on the civilian market it was sold for about $20 - $30 per unit. But there is no way anybody in 1899 would buy a Schofield for $80+.

The Schofield was made to be used on horseback, easier reloading. The only reason they didn't get the contract with the military was that The Cold .45 SAA (cattleman in game) could take .45 Long Colt AND the Schofield bullets, and the Schofield could only take its own, and the army already had lots of .45 LC.

    For info on the gun
The smith & wesson NO 3 top break revolver .45 long colt "the Scofield"
The revolver was a order from general Schofield of the US army this is were this version of the NO3 gets its name. General schofield wanted a no3 revolver chambered in .45 long colt from that day any no3 chambered in .45 long colt was called a Schofield revolver.
Popular revolvers in the US have always been the good old american colt but in canada for our .455 Weebly and .44 russian rounds we preferred the smith & Wesson triple lock revolver or the "new generation army" or the double action colt with swing out cylinders.
Colt at the time had so many orders rhat they sold their pattents to companies like cimarron firearms and more same for remington. Revolvers in the old west was in crazy high damand.

Tbh im very upset that they made the schofield do more damage than the cattlemen. They even gave the cattleman a faster reload speed despite that being completely unrealistic. The schofield had a smaller bullet due to sw veing unwilling to chamber their weapon in 45 colt because they didnt want people purchasing the larger superior cartridge

    • @astrotrek3534
      @astrotrek3534 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

I wouldn't say the colt was superior. The Army ended up adopting the Schofield ammunition for all their Colt guns, and Browning based the 45 ACP off of it. Almost identical ballistics to 45 ACP
