I feel like something neat to do would be to do your wedding makeup and then go watch a sad movie and see how everything holds up or if anything smears that way you know if you need to swap mascaras/liners/setting spray to one that holds up better
I’m a wedding coordinator for our church and we are seeing a lot of wedding blessings for those who married in the pandemic. Love this look and I’m thinking it would be a lovely look for my 60th in a few weeks
I think what’s throwing you off about the makeup is the fact that when we do special occasion makeup we tend to go a bit overboard with certain things like bronzer, nose contour, blush, eye shadow etc. I think in this case the blush needs to be concentrated more on the apples of your cheeks and have a soft blend outwards with a lighter blush underneath. Also the undertone of your lip shades should match the blush for best results. Anyway you’re gonna look gorgeous Soph❤
For the next trial, you should try a shimmery pink in the waterline. I’ve always felt like matte nude/white shades can look kinda harsh and unnatural, but a pink can still brighten and open up your eyes and the shimmer would make your eyes sparkle in the light rather than looking flat and stark against the white of your eyes 🩷
Colorpop calabasas in the waterline is gorgeous! Not super glittery but puts just a "twinkle", a little bit of brightness but not stark and won't close off the eye. I would love to see her try it!
Less blush, look to see if the nose contour looks good in photos since flash photography can make makeup disappear. More of a pinky lip. I liked the light pink waterline, makes your eyes bright and awake and excited to be married. You look gorgeous!! I've been watching you for ten years. Got married in 2016 myself. Congratulations! 🎉
@@sophdoeslife idk if you’ll see this, but I actually don’t recommend putting any sort of liner on your waterline because it might muddy your eyes even if it’s waterproof. Instead I recommend one of those soothing eye drops which make the whites of your eyes whiter and clearer like the ones from the brand Bausch and Lomb (they’re great for contact lens wearers)😅
Please don't overthink it too much you literally look amazing with and without make up. You are going to look absolutely stunning regardless. Be present and just enjoy it all. Free yourself from expectations ❤❤❤ love you!
I hope this doesn’t come across as weird lol but this video made me so happy. It’s odd.. we don’t actually know you. There is a weird parasocial relationship between content creators and us, the viewers. But I had the worst year last year. I became paralysed from the waist down, my mental health was awful and I nearly opted out. I was finally diagnosed with adhd and autism. All of this to say, you were my comfort creator through all of that. You reignited my joy for makeup and helped me to find and express myself again. And this video makes me happy because I’m happy you’re happy. I see your joy. You are a beautiful person Soph, inside and out. I wish nothing but great things for you, James and Pinks. Just thank you xx
Soph - I was so unbelievably excited to see this video post! I got married in September of 2023 but I still adore watching makeup videos. Here are my insights combined with what I learned from my incredible makeup artist: I would do a simple base for your makeup that you know won't act funny underneath make up. It's best (and less risky) to not use too many products underneath your foundation. I used hyaluronic acid acid serum, sunscreen (I used Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen - such a smooth silicone feel and no white cast) and my holy grail primer (Hourglass Vanish Airbrush primer performs beautifully!). For foundation, I would pick the one that wears the best/longest. It is a marathon of photographs, crying, laughing, dancing, sweating...all of the things. Whether you do your eyes first or after your base, I agree that you want to be a bit more heavy handed than usual so it lasts and shows up in photos. Fenty Diamond Bomb (either color) is another option that adds a beautiful sparkle to the eye lids and/or inner corners. I loved your eye look in this video - so many different products added complexity and dimension! My makeup artist advocated for brown liner as well to create a soft glam look. She meticulously applied individual lashes which gave me the full lash look I wanted but miraculously it looked natural. Also individual lashes prevent the risk of your strip lash band popping up. For the water line, you could try applying a lighter liner in the inner third (closer to the nose) and a darker one in the outer two thirds - a happy medium that I often do! With powder, you can't go wrong with Laura Mercier but make sure you have a travel size version that you can access throughout the day. I have oily skin and needed to powder a few times! With blush, since you are a blush lover, I think you can still be blushy, but I would concentrate the Rare Beauty Luminous Blush away from the apples of your cheeks (a tip from a few of my favorites beauty influencers!) and treat it more like a blush topper. For the lips, I think Charlotte Tilbury is a go to - I would experient with a few different colors; she actually just came out with a few new shades of Pillow Talk. I didn't apply gloss on my wedding day for the same reasons you mentioned, but you could experience with a glossy lipstick (CT has a glossy lipstick, Superstar Lips, that I love - it wears so nicely). Last but not least, use WAY more setting spray than you think you need. My makeup artist sprayed my face 5 - 6 times with the Morphe Continuous Setting Spray and my makeup lasted until 2am when I went to bed (I did powder a few times as well as reapply my lipstick). I hope this helps and again, congratulations! You are glowing in this video. Every bride is beautiful because they are lit from within with happiness. :)
i’m a wedding makeup artist and i use the brown and black inglot gel liner! it dries matte and stays on all day and it’s super easy to blend for a smokey look!
Make sure (if) you use a face mask right before the big day, it’s one you know your skin won’t badly react to as well!! I’m getting married too and have been waiting for these videos!!🤍🤍
So excited for all the wedding looks! I'd love to see a video about wedding makeup/ wedding guest makeup that would last through heat but wouldn't look too heavy/dry on dry skin?!🧡
After watching you since 2018 and now seeing you do trial makeup for your wedding, seeing you all glammed up bridal style makes me tear up. I feel like I've seen you grow up as I grew up and it is just so crazy to see. I have loved watching you for years and am so happy to see you shine like this!🥺❤
Definitely go for the cream waterline liner or a white one!! It looks so bridal to me and kinda whimsical and happy and pure?!! Makes your eyes pop sm ❤❤
If you're looking for decolletage shimmer Melt has some really beautiful shimmery body glow. I know they have several shades in a liquid ranging from pink-ish to golden to deep bronze, and I think they have some powder bronzer (and also blush) with some beautiful shimmer. They may also have some eyeliner in lighter brown. They tend to have a good range of cool, neutral, and warm tones (if they can keep things in stock). Congratulations and remember that no matter what you end up doing for your wedding, your guy absolutely loves you and the two of you should just enjoy each other in that moment! xx
November bride here! I’m also doing my own makeup! It’s so exciting when people I’m following are also getting married around the same time, it feels super fun to go through these life events together 💕
This is absolutely GORGEOUS!!! 1- I LOVE the cream i think it really opens your eyes, the brown makes you look slightly tired so i would personally do cream or nothing 2- On the day, since its a summer wedding i would do a teeny bit less blush as you may become flushed anyway 3- I recommend doing a workout after a trail to see how it holds up😂 and to see if anything smudges/ creases more than usual and it’d be a good test of it a mascara would transfer 4- The headband is so cute !! If your having a rehearsal dinner or anything of that nature definitely consider wearing it ❤❤❤
22:51 i remember when you tested the rare beauty highlighters and said it was a bridal highlighter. And I was waiting for you to pick a highlighter and praying it would be this one cause it’s so so so pretty. Internally screaming ❤
I think the right eye looks better !!! the cream in ur waterline suits you better for the wedding day & maybe add the brown for the reception/ night time!!! 🩷🩷
I got married in 2021 (postponed from the panny d) and I did my own makeup, I would 100% do it again it was so much fun sitting and getting glam with my girlies! And every year on our anniversary I redo my wedding makeup look with products that I would use if I were getting married this year, it’s so interesting to see in the years that pass how the products change but the look basically stays the same cos I absolutely loved it! I used ELF liquid glitter eyeshadow in flirty birdy cos I wanted something super duper glittery!x
The COCOBROWN golden goddess oil is the besttttttt body oil! It doesn’t stick to your chlothes and it is so soft and it makes your skin feels like baby skin!🙌🏼⭐️👰♀️
I have oily eyelids and long eyelashes, i put whichever setting powder (usually transluscent) im using under my eyebrows and on my brow bone using an eyeshadow brush to keep my mascara from transferring. I usually go over 2 or 3 times for maximum coverage. I also run translucent setting powder along the tips of my eyelashes on the bottom lash line to keep from smudging my undereyes.
Soph I've been following you for years and I get married next year, really appreciate this video as I'm doing my own makeup. I'm sure you'll look wonderful on your special day!x
I had those eyelure 008 lashes on for my wedding day and i LOVED them! No stressing at ALL about them peeling off the inside of my eye and they just give the perfect elegant but naturalish looking lash! Lovee
I'm getting married this year and planning to do my own makeup as well. I always love watching your makeup videos, and I'm sure your makeup will look stunning on your wedding day.
Wow you look absolutely beautiful! this is such a lovely look on you. Defo a pinkier lip! i use any lipstick and then a tiny bit of translucent powder over the top depending on how matte it is and the sealer/gloss end from any colour of the nyx ones and it seems to work. Can’t wait to see more wedding makeup vids xxx
Marriage is a sacred union between two individuals who vow to love and support each other through life's joys and challenges. A wedding is a celebration of this commitment, marked by rituals and traditions that symbolize the couple's love and unity. It is a beautiful beginning to a lifelong journey together.
For Mascara, I find the Catrice Go Big Go Bold Mascara to be the best! It's waterproof so it doesn't smudge and the bristles of the brush are so fine so lashes don't stick to each other. By far my favorite mascara ever!!!
I am obsessed with this makeup look, I think since you did go a bit more heavy handed for photos you aren’t used to how it looks. Also so happy for you Soph been watching your videos for 7 years now 🥺
I did my daughter’s wedding makeup and used the rare beauty highlight as the inner eyelid shade, like you did, and it was stunning. Def recommend to keep that on your wedding day. You look stunning as per usual
First of all, your face is STUNNING! I really love the Pat McGrath under eye powder. It's a splurge, but I use such a small amount. I also had my makeup done by a MUA I trusted, and we had a pre-wedding trial run. I was so excited and nervous, it worked out better for someone else to do my makeup and hair. But I had all the products picked out, and I added my own touches at the end (I'm such a perfectionist, I felt I would overthink things and drive myself crazy!) From your mood board pictures, I think a soft pink lip with a touch of glow (maybe just the tiniest amount of highlight in the middle of your bottom lip will make your whole face glow. And you won't have to wear a gloss. I mean, such a small amount only you know it's there, and it will add so much!
The Huda Beauty waterproof top coat is what I used on my wedding day and it was fantastic because it allowed me to turn my preferred mascara transfer-proof and it lasted all day. Would highly recommend!
The best wedding foundation i swear by is Dior forever glow if you have dry skin or the forever OG if you have oily skin! Amazing natural coverage but buildable ♥️
Soph you look stunning! I got married recently and I put powder highlighter over my lipstick and then Laura Mercier to seal it in! You can go back over with a gloss after but it’s perfect for the first kiss and not getting it on your hubs!
I remember starting to watch you back in the day where u used to live with ur parents...and watching you grow and be happier is nice and giving me hope that life is beautiful ❤️ congratulations soph and you look absolutely stunning with this make up ❤️
13:06 this may sound realllyyy silly, But when it’s a really hot day for the UK do your wedding makeup, and see how it holds up while sweating and stuff! Having nerves on the day, dancing, thanking everyone, hugging people, you don’t want it to mess up your makeup! Also get a piece of fabric which is the colour of James’ suit, and put your face on it, especially while your dancing your face may end up on his chest//shoulder and you wouldn’t want your makeup to end up on his suit!!!
Soph you look so beautiful. I got all emotional seeing you get emotional. I started watching you during lockdown & I've been hooked since. You are the kindest sweetest influencer there is & I wish more people could be as kind & honest as you. It's so lovely to see you get your happy ending! ❤
I'm not getting married but I just love watching Soph being happy and getting festive. I watched her on my best and worst days. As the saying goes: In sickness, in health
I know the struggle of choosing when you have so many faves! I got married in March 2024 and did my own makeup but I was doing trials like this starting in January. I was testing color combos in tandem with wear tests, and timing the application. On the day, it went well and I am very happy with how I looked (not to mention all the money saved not hiring a makeup artist). My only advice is if you will be imbibing in any beverages and socializing while getting ready, factor that into your timing.
Hey Soph, Hi-fu is actually a high-frequency procedure that mainly targets collagen production & skin rejuvenation through collagen production. You won’t see results immediately but overtime (sometimes 3 months later) + sometimes you might need 2-3 procedures (3 months apart) in order to get that full lifting effect as it’s down to how quickly your skin reacts and whether it produces enough of its own collgen.
I’m getting married next year, I have literally no idea about makeup since I didn’t have anyone to show me how when I was growing up .. I watch your channel to see if I could potentially learn some techniques to do my own makeup day to day but also for my wedding… thanks for the inspiration!
I’m old enough to be your mom but also a future bride! I did my own makeup for my first and will probably do it for my second. Definitely take some photos (not just selfies) so you can see how it looks from different distances and in different lighting. Congrats, you are going to be stunning!❤️
I really recommend the One Size setting spray!! I used it on my wedding day and I CRIED so much and there wasn’t any tear streaks in my makeup at all! I was sooo impressed!
Absolutely beautiful finished look! I agree about not using anything in your waterline. It’s an extra thing that will probably need topping up too because waterline neverrr stays put. I think I’m going to use the waterproof sky high too for my wedding day in August. I know I’ll be balling and I love the sky high mascara so I’m hoping the waterproof one does the job! x
Omg I’m so glad you are doing these videos, I’m getting married in October and I’ve decided that I will do my own makeup, and I’ve been looking for products to use, I’ve been watching your videos for year and you are very helpful, and love the fact that you haven’t changed at all with brands promoting you. By the way congratulations to you on your wedding. ☺️💖
Hey soph I have worked as a clinical spa as a receptionist for many years and I have learned a lot. For the HiFu treatment you need to do 4-8 sessions for your skin you would probably need 6 at the most but it's is one of those things that you need to keep up with so if you are interested in doing that I would do them a few months before. As well it's one of those services where as time goes on after the treatment you see more results. But you are sooooo beautiful so I don't think you need it. As well if you want some extra moisture I would recommend getting a hydra facial a week or so before the date . Works wonders!
I love the cream/nude waterline, makes you look awake. As another commenter said, go for a sweaty workout, or watch a sad movie and see what makeup actually holds up and which doesn't/needs to be applied differently ❤
For the spf, I’d recommend trying a Korean one. Those have the exact same texture as a moisturiser and work flawlessly under makeup. The beauty of joseon one is my favourite.
I loved watching this video! I got proposed to earlier this year and watching you talk about your wedding and prepping for it is making me excited. I can't wait to watch more of your wedding content!
I've been bridesmaid 4 times, done my own makeup twice and had makeup done the other two times. I ALWAYS preferred doing my own makeup! I know what products I like (that I'm also not allergic to) and I know how I prefer shaping my face!
Hi Soph! First, I loved the lighter colour in your waterline - perfect for a bride! Second, I used Pat McGrath’s Satinallure lipstick in Nude Romantic II on my wedding day. It’s genuinely the perfect wedding lipstick, and the packaging looks so bridal too! I couldn’t recommend it more - it lasted really well, is super comfy on the lips, and looked gorgeous in the pictures 😊
I‘m getting married this year as well. As well in summer and I look at this video as inspiration how I might want to look at my wedding day. I want the full bridal experience and will have someone who will do my makeup.
I got married back in October and I did my own makeup. You don’t know how many timesss I did trials until I finally figured out what I wanted! So happy I decided to do my own makeup, it was so much less stress for me because I knew it was exactly what I wanted! 💗💗
More of these videos!!! ♡.... My wedding had three different dates, the first being 2020.. Covid! the second being 2021and the other 2022... my Groom changed his mind twice, the second time 7 weeks before, so I never got to feel like a Bride... You're going to look absolutely beautiful on your special day; i'm so excited for you! X
Your nose contour looks perfect! Everything does! I agree I like the brown in the waterline and I love the lips but maybe just add a little more of a blush colour to your lips in the centre! I loved this video🫶🏽🥹🩷
I’m obsessed with this look especially the eyeliner 🥹 I can’t remember if you’ve tried the Lunar Beauty powder but I really think that would be a great contender! It’s super smoothing!
Loved this video! I am getting married hopefully in next few years but I am 50/50 wanting my make up done and wanting todo it myself. This looked stunning,I liked the light waterline it made your eyes look more open and brought out the blue xx
Hi Soph, mascara recommendation - Tarte Tartlette Tubing Mascara. It’s incredibly long lasting, gives me full, long lashes and never transfers on my hooded, oily eyelids or wrinkly lower eyelids. It’s my holy grail after trying dozens of mascaras to find one that makes lashes look good and stays. It doesn’t move if I cry either. You look beautiful and I’m sure James is feeling very lucky to soon have such a lovely bride ❤
I got married last summer and did my own makeup, I'm not amazing at it but I knew I wanted a red lip so everything else was pretty soft and subtle. I tested different red lipsticks to see how much transfer they'd have for our first kiss, but I've seen plenty of people who kissed and left a mark then just used a tissue to wipe it away! I even created a little album in my photos for all the different wedding looks and trials I had so I could compare. You're going to be a gorgeous bride and it's going to be magical day, it all goes by so fast so just try your best to relax and have fun
I think the finished look was stunning, perfect for a wedding, the blush is so pretty, maybe try putting it higher up next time, but the colour is so beautiful and perfect for a wedding! Also I think a light soft brown would look nice in the waterline, something not too overpowering but also something that will make your eyes stand out even more in the photos! 😍 No matter what Soph, you’re going to look stunning on the day no doubt!
Hey love, you could take the gloss with you and apply it after the ceremony - that way you get to have pics with both the matte lip and gloss but you also won’t have to worry about transfer :)
Getting married in July and as much as I'm getting my makeup done but watching a) for entertainment and b) to see the setting powder you use (and other things for touch up throughout the day)
I'm just here to throw love your way. The look is gorg. I started watching your videos because we have really similar skin types/problem areas and you've taught me so much technique and given so many incredible recommendations through the years. What I didn't expect was how much I tend to agree with your takes on things, deeply appreciate your honesty on struggles, and adore your comforting energy. I'm just so excited for you and this upcoming milestone. Xx
My maid of Honour makeup was primarily drugstore. My foundation was the L'oreal infallible freshwear liquid foundation. That lasted all day with no touch ups required. My lip combo was Maybelline vinyl ink in cheeky and Rimmel lip pencil in 90's nude. I found later in the evening I made my lips pop more by using highlighter on edges and on lines where my lips naturally crease. Photographs really well and is transfer and kiss proof. X
I’ve been doing my own lymphatic drainage massage recently and can say that after about a month of doing that it’s gotten rid of my double chin and made it look like I’ve had buccal fat removal. I do it every morning and it has personally worked so well for me
Your happiness is so adorable, I am so happy for you, I can tell you are just feeling yourself and enjoying every moment of it, you glow like a little sunshine
I absolutely love this look on you! The eyeshadow and Gatsby glitter is so perfect! Only thing I would change is less blush and a pink toned lipstick xx
That tarte primer looked really good. I have dry skin but I wear glasses and makeup always comes off on the nose pads. I set there, do any other powders I want (usually blush), use setting spray, and then do a dusting of powder to finish. I have heard that eye primers work well but seeing how it instantly made your nose matte made me interested. Do you know if that primer would help with my issue?
I feel like something neat to do would be to do your wedding makeup and then go watch a sad movie and see how everything holds up or if anything smears that way you know if you need to swap mascaras/liners/setting spray to one that holds up better
100% when I was testing my wedding makeup I would go for a run or do a hot sweaty workout to see how it would last under pressure 😂
Omg such a cool ideaaa

The lashes are INSANE, you look so beautiful
I have oily eyelids and long eyelashes, i put whichever setting powder (usually transluscent) im using under my eyebrows and on my brow bone using an eyeshadow brush to keep my mascara from transferring. I usually go over 2 or 3 times for maximum coverage. I also run translucent setting powder along the tips of my eyelashes on the bottom lash line to keep from smudging my undereyes.
Me too!!
Soph I've been following you for years and I get married next year, really appreciate this video as I'm doing my own makeup. I'm sure you'll look wonderful on your special day!x
I love the darker brown and light mixed eyeliner in the waterline!! Your makeup looked PHENOMENAL!!!
For a waterproof mascara, I really really love the Clio one. Either the volume curling or the long curling.
amazing thank you!!😊
I LOVE seeing how excited you are
I literally got married two days ago but luckily had a MUA do my makeup xx
I love the lashes and the brown smokey wing !!! Looks beautiful Soph :D
I remember starting to watch you back in the day where u used to live with ur parents...and watching you grow and be happier is nice and giving me hope that life is beautiful ❤️ congratulations soph and you look absolutely stunning with this make up ❤️
🥹🥹🥹 thank you so much ❤
13:06 this may sound realllyyy silly, But when it’s a really hot day for the UK do your wedding makeup, and see how it holds up while sweating and stuff!
i love love love the colourpop sol shimmering dry oil. it doesn’t transfer much at all and your whole body smells so good with it on
I'm not getting married but I just love watching Soph being happy and getting festive.
For the lips try the Maybelline super vinyls. They're great non-transfer & have so many fantastic colors!
I love the nude in the waterline btw
I’m getting married next year, I have literally no idea about makeup since I didn’t have anyone to show me how when I was growing up .. I watch your channel to see if I could potentially learn some techniques to do my own makeup day to day but also for my wedding… thanks for the inspiration!
For the body bronzer, Nuxe, Fenty and Kylie are my favourites! Looking forward to seeing your final wedding look 🥹
thank you!!! ☺️
I know I’ll be balling and I love the sky high mascara so I’m hoping the waterproof one does the job! x
For SPF i'd totally recommend the Biore UV Aqua Rich. It feels like water and sinks into skin flawlessly.
loreal telescopic waterproof will not budge at all and i love the formula! a lot of mascaras transfer on me. love u soph!
I can totally see the difference in your face after that procedure! You'll make a stunning bride. Beautiful
For the spf, I’d recommend trying a Korean one. Those have the exact same texture as a moisturiser and work flawlessly under makeup. The beauty of joseon one is my favourite.
It’s soooooo pretty Soph!!!! Love the blush actually (but I’m biased I’m a blush girl)
Australian gold sunscreen is perfect for the wedding day! It has some bronzer in it which looks really glowy and doesnt cause flashback in pictures 😊
Soph! You should do half and half bridal makeup! With High end VS. Drugstore products ❤
You look beautiful and I’m sure James is feeling very lucky to soon have such a lovely bride ❤
seeing you so exited and happy literally made me smile too
I got married last summer and did my own makeup, I'm not amazing at it but I knew I wanted a red lip so everything else was pretty soft and subtle.
Also I would recommend trying Bobbi Brown moonstone luxe eyeshadow pigment! It’s neutral as it has cool and warm reflects in! Xxx
As for a reliable waterproof mascara I would suggest the Clio Kill Lash mascaras!! They are bulletproof! and you look so so stunning xx
Hey love, you could take the gloss with you and apply it after the ceremony - that way you get to have pics with both the matte lip and gloss but you also won’t have to worry about transfer :)
Getting married in July and as much as I'm getting my makeup done but watching a) for entertainment and b) to see the setting powder you use (and other things for touch up throughout the day)
The lighter cream liner looks so good! Love blush but it is a bit hectic
Girl I grew up watching you ! Crazy you and James are getting married. For lips HIGHLY recommend the bperfect lipstick and liners
Xx
Thank you so much, what a lovely comment 🥹❤️
My maid of Honour makeup was primarily drugstore. My foundation was the L'oreal infallible freshwear liquid foundation. That lasted all day with no touch ups required. My lip combo was Maybelline vinyl ink in cheeky and Rimmel lip pencil in 90's nude. I found later in the evening I made my lips pop more by using highlighter on edges and on lines where my lips naturally crease. Photographs really well and is transfer and kiss proof. X
So excited for your bridal look videos as I’m currently debating doing my own wedding make up too, this look is beautiful especially the eyes ❤
Very pretty! You’re going to be a beautiful bride!!!❤
Vani glitters are absolutely amazing you can leave the glitter by pressing but if you swipe they are smooth and the best pop for your eyes 🥰💝😘
