This last weekend, my partner and I decided to just have a courthouse marriage. we hired a photographer and a minister and went to the local botanical gardens with like 8 people there. then went back to an air bnb for cake, snacks, and champagne. we’ll do a wedding at some point but it was honestly so great and so much less stressful than a wedding! not to mention it was very affordable.
Mua here! Your makeup always looks amazingggg! Just one tip, with the lashes, cover the lash band in some liquid liner whilst in the packet. Let it dry then do glue etc, makes it so much more seamless and you don’t see the clear band when you’re looking down! Especially for your wedding day 🤍
@@sophdoeslife another MUA here- No7 waterproof intense volume mascara!! The only one that doesn’t smudge on my insanely oily-ass eyelids, and it’s amazing! (Also wet’n’wild matte primer on the nose, set with powder under foundation is a game changer)
I love how laid back and lowkey your approach is to your wedding especially in a world of "insta perfect" weddings that probs cost a kidney and your first born child😂 BTW you wore a white cowl neck dress in Paris once and a sparkley one to the wish premier that would both be great hen do dresses! Don't feel pressure to buy a new dress!!❤
I got married in September, and my makeup artist (she was incredible!) sprayed my face with the Morphe Continuous Setting Mist probably 5 - 6 times over the course of the last 45 minutes after completing my makeup, letting each light layer dry completely, and my makeup lasted until 2am that night. I did dab a bit of powder on between photo sessions because I’m oily and reapplied my lip product once or twice. :) I also decided to go a bit heavier (but still natural-esque, soft glam) with my makeup on my wedding day based on my trial - when you’re oily makeup can sort of melt off/disappear in photos over time. Congratulations to all of the brides to be out there, including you, Soph!
I’m approaching our 19th anniversary and I’m glad that I felt no great pressure to be Instagram perfect on my wedding day. My strategy was one that I couldn’t do today: I booked an appointment at the Lancôme counter in my local Debenhams and used their advice and I ended up with something that looked gorgeous yet simple. Because I never wear eye makeup because of ridiculously sensitive eyes, my makeup was just a really great foundation, blush and a gorgeous lip combo. Nobody really did brows, highlighter or contour back in 2005. I love that I look like myself in our wedding photos rather than some sculpted goddess.
I actually used the Sophx palette to do my friend’s sister’s eye makeup for her wedding! And her bridesmaids. I was roped into it and they all were big fans. It was a few years ago and I don’t have the palette any longer, but it was fantastic at the time!
I have that little MUA palette and I absolutely love it! It’s so easy to use, the glitters are stunning alone and as a topper on other eyeshadows and it’s super affordable. Perfect for everyday or for a special make up
Omg I loved the eyelure lash glue with their 3/4 lashes!! They lasted on me through a downpour while at an outdoor concert and they looked SO nice and were extremely comfortable. The ones I had on were a really thin invisible band and also managed to stay on while I had a seizure at the same concert and didn’t come off or loosen until I peeled them off the next morning.
you’re so pretty!! I recently subscribed to your channel a few days ago and I just wanted to say that I really enjoy watching your videos! you are amazing 💗💗
Hi soph!! I used to watch your videos ALL the time but i stopped when i had my emo fase haha. Its nice to see you're doing good!! Have a nice wedding!🎉❤
This is so exciting to watch as someone who has just got engaged and is now considering what I want to do for my wedding makeup wise hehe ❤your makeup always look stunning and you looked insanely beautiful on your wedding day 💒👰🏼♀️
For powder I find the Morphe loose setting powder works pretty well for oily skin. I myself use ELF under my eyes (cause it’s sooo good but yes a bit glowy) and then morphy on the rest of my face :)
Girl, you posted this two days after my wedding lmao. It's all good, I used your wedding guest makeup video as the general outline for what I did anyway! One hundred percent agree that the Nyx brow pen is a great brow product lol. Thank you for all the event makeup videos you've done because they definitely helped me sort out how I wanted to do my makeup for the wedding. 😊
If you’re looking for a good cheap loose powder the Lottie London one is great, I’ve got dry skin and I honestly think it looks better on me than the Laura Mercier one.
I have very oily skin, so I have struggled a lot to find suitable primers. The two best primers I have ever used are Nikkia Joy Cosmetics - Matte Base Primer And MAC - Studio Fix Mattifine Shine Control 12hr Primer. Neither of them have that slippery silicon feel. They mattify, blur, and perfect the skin without drying out the skin or giving that tight stiff feeling. I swear by them! You should definitely try them!
Hey Soph ❤ Reallly hope your doing good and arent too stressed with wedding stuff and work, just sending love. Amazing video your going to be even more stunning on the big day xxxxxx
I actually used your Extra Spice pallet to do my wedding makeup! 😭 I’ve noticed that in both your trial videos you’ve left your eyes very light and almost kind of flat, like there’s not a lot of depth in the outer corner. I would recommend deepening that up a bit more with a deep brown so that it photographs better. My photographer asked what eye makeup I was doing and I said I was doing a smokey brown with a silver cut crease, and she said that was great because photos tend to wash out the colour so having some depth to my eyeshadow would mean that it definitely translated in to the pictures. I’ve also seen a load of women say they regretted not going darker with their eyeshadow because in the pictures it looked like they weren’t wearing anything! Maybe try taking some pictures with flash when you’re far away from the camera or some outdoor pictures with your current eyeshadow looks to see how you feel about it. You might find that you feel the same way and want the eyeshadow darker
Agreed, my wedding makeup artist also recommended slightly more makeup on my wedding day (based on my trial) to ensure it would show up in photos, and last all day - inevitably eyeshadow fades over the course your big, marathon day!
A little tip if you have stubborn spots you can’t seem to cover actually use a small brush and a foundation powder with coverage after your done with everything.
This is the video i need Im not great at make up but im a bride on a budget plus im that pale that every professional makes me orange so ive decided to give it a go myself z
Hi Soph! I hope you’re well! I watch you literally all the time! You’re so unbelievably talented and your videos make my day! I love receiving the notification I get when you upload a new video 😍 I know you probably won’t see this or even message back but I just thought I’d try. It’s my mums 50th birthday in June and we are having a surprise 80s themed birthday. Would love it if you could put an 80s themed tutorial together. With like neon blues and pinks/purples on the eyes and high pink blush and super curly hair with a scrunchie in. I’d love for you to give me some inspiration. The party is 16th June so if you were to do it it would have to be before then but I understand if you’re too busy and just wanted to say you’re the best TH-camr and I’ll never stop watching your content Thanks so much Alisha 🩷
You will make the most stunning bride. I'm excited for you. It is the most amazing memory to make. The day you can be the most dressed up 😊 I always have to set my eyelids with powder before shadow because it just grabs the pigment. Except for Natasha Denona ones. Probably my crap blending haha. Much ❤ love
I LOVE your makeup in this video you look absolutely stunning. You’re going to be the most beautiful bride! - I also watch your videos when I’m giving my 7 month old a nap, she naps with me, and I try so hard not to laugh and wake her up bc sometimes you just have random funny bits that crack me up lol
I love your channel and makeup looks .. so I also think you would absolutely love Casey Holmes channel her makeup looks and yours would match a lot bc she has oily skin as well & she has great recommendations
love how the make up turned out and hope you had the best hen do! the pics looked great! I'm getting married end of May next year and I'm pretty sure I'm going to be adding most of these products to my shopping list to trial out this year to see what works best for me 😅
For my ‘stay all day’ primer base, I use L’Oréal Hydro Genius Aloe Water, then the Nyx Power Grip Primer then add the Nyx Plump Right Back. My makeup still looks flawless after 10 hours without touching up (and I have normal to oily skin) Hope this helps 💛
Also side note (as I’m still watching LOL) maybe use a concealer color closer to your foundation when cleaning up the eyeshadow! Unless you like the bright look then just ignore me!!😂😂 Catrice & makeup revolution both have STUNNIN highlighters! Also a trick I do while my setting spray dries is go in with my sponge and lightly dab it into your face!! Gives SUCH a beautiful finish!!
Hey Soph, loved this video and I can't wait for more of your bridal themed videos on the lead up to your wedding! Will you be reviewing Made By Mitchell's Comet Case? 😄
ELF does make a matte putty primer. I use it every day! I can’t stand slippy putty primers either! Also, Colourpop’s gel liners are now water proof! They did a minor reformulation. 😊
L'oreal prime lab primers are super good!! The pore blurring one is so smoothing and matte but still keeps skin plump. I have dry skin and still use it, especially if I want my makeup to last all day!! Xx I recently repurchased the infallible foundation. After they changed the packaging the bottle said my shade was a cool undertone when it's supposed to be neutral. So I wore it side by side with the last of my old bottle, thankfully the shade is exactly the same so the description on the bottle might be slightly off lol.
Getting married in September 😊 I am loving the wedding content! I do my makeup everyday and am going to do it on the day, but I'm honestly super nervous about it 😅 I should definitely do about a trillion trials 😂
I really love the Innisfree loose powder. It has drugstore price so I personally count it as drugstore, though I’m not sure you’ll find it in just any store if you want to buy it personally. Though there’s plenty of Innisfree outlets everywhere so it shouldn’t be that big a problem to find it. Wasn’t sure about Korean makeup when I initially bought it (it was the snoopy collection !) but I have never looked for another powder since so I definitely recommend you check it out. Although, other than an amazing etude eyeliner that was unfortunately discontinued, it’s the only other Korean product I own, so I can’t say much about others but I couldn’t be any happier with my purchase.
Congratulations 🎊 sounds like a lovely wedding ❤
@@MissKiki521 thank you!!
Wow what a memorable wedding, become husband and wife without the stress of wedding preparations, congratulations 😊
Congratulations! What a beautiful moment for you both to cherish the rest of your life. ♥️
Congratulations! My Husband and I did something similar in 2016.
28:19 kiss lashes in the style “Lily” are the best, most natural looking lashes ever!
Oooh thank you!!!😊

Loving your bridal vlogs . I’ve been married 20 years plus we renewed our vows after 10. I remember my make up I did. So different back then xx
