hey librarian would you consider me making sdh captions for those shorter videos you upload? I reference subjects nl talks about quite a bit and my deaf friend doesn't get those at all, so if I could make some for your videos that would be really cool. I'm also experienced in making sdh captions and can do those fancy .ytt subtitles, you don't even have to pay me or anything I'll make them for sports sake
Genuine question: what do sdh subtitles bring to the experience that aren’t captured by the auto-generated subtitles? Do you want them to communicate more than just the words alone?
@@alchemical_fitz for deaf people especially youtube auto generated subs are bad with reading pacing, speaker indication, and overall accuracy of things being said, they are quite frankly frustrating to use. with man made ones you could properly annunciate the speaker by writing out their name as well as color-coding the text, properly pace the subs for optimal reading experience, and write out certain sounds that are important for context. not even talking about making the subs or certain words smaller, bigger, bold, italic to further emphasize speaking tone. many dont know about it but youtubes new-ish .ytt subtitle format allows for all this
