I can imagine okay for eyeglass wearers, but not for those who don't, and they won't stop backlight glare coming in from behind/ behind and to the side. Seem more like an aesthetic gimmick. Don't they extend?
I recently got NL PURE 8x42. I wonder about these eyecups: are they mainly intended for use with eyeglasses? It looks like you come even closer to the eyepiece lenses, but will it be too close? And if you use them without eyeglasses you get rid of the support from the eyecups against the face, so that will be less stable...
I removed my eyecups altogether to simulate this effect. It's actually really good for maintaining peripheral vision. It also makes your binoculars look invisible kinda like you are peering through a portal which is an interesting effect.

yeah~and the eyecups can protect your lens when you remove your original eyecups
@@qqeeqqeek Yeah and with the NL Pures, the forehead rest can do all the work of stabilizing so your eyecups can be free.
