It may be a long video this time, Jamie, but hey, it's complete and thorough and well worth the watch as I have not found another youtuber that goes into so much detail as you do. Keep doing what you do when you have the time to do so mate cos I'm really getting an education here on how to setup the various emulators that you explain how to setup. I've been using MameUI(formally Mame32) for years now. The first time I used Mame was way back in 1997 and it had one of my all time favourite vertical shemups, Xevious.
Thanks very much my friend. Benefits me too. I love doing these guides. I also learn how to use these systems but I learn quickly. Funny thing is that once I have finished. Everything is deleted.
@@JustJamie1983 Back in the 70s when I was a kid, my parents owned a takeaway hamburger shop which had a jukebox, pool table, some pinball machines and early arcade cabinets. That was what put me on the path to loving arcade machines so much and still to this day as a 55 year old, still get so much enjoyment out of them.

any tips for adding extra games or do I just add them to the rom folder and then run the scan roms again?@@JustJamie1983
No need to add any folder locations unless you have the files in a different folder than in the appropriate folder in the mame folder. Also no the rom set has to match the mame version to work fine. All saying rom set doesnt matter will do is have people in the facebook groups asking why game x doesnt work after following your guide.

@@JustJamie1983 nah haven't bothered to write one so when i point out bad info in other guides your response can be what i look forward too. Just because i haven't written a guide doesnt mean i dont know how mame works and what info will make people lost. Alot of then will watch your guide and still not click on available and wonder why most games dont work.

the version your doing is different from the version that I'm using. I'm using .261 which is the newest version of mame, can you do a quick tutorial on that version too pls.

But now for the question. I know this isn't about the PS2 emulator, but on games that require a memory card, do I allow the system to 'format' what it thinks is the memory cared, or will that hurt my drive? I'm using a 5Tb drive with lots of other media on it and don't want to lose any.
You are safe to format memory card.

What does the error say?
Extracting error, like a corrupted .rar or .zip package
