What sophie is doing here is raising awareness about some real, horrifying issues which need to be paid attention to. This is a important part of charity, for if people don't know about the problems, nor about the people in the charity organizations who want to help, it's impossible for the organization to get the funds needed for their work and expand. I'm proud of her.
school's coming and this video just made me realize that school's over there teaching ignorant stuff while the other half of the world is experiencing this and they don't even really say the things that we could do to help.I feel so trapppeddd
I'm wondering... what is it she did in Rwanda other than visit, Meet people and feel 'emotional' at what she saw? I understand that it is important to bring attention and awareness but Sophie Turner's educational holiday doesn't impress me much. At least she tried.
The point wasn't to impress, it was bringing attention and awareness like you said, along with her personal impacts and the reality of the situation. Theres plenty of other videos to impress yourself by. Like it or don't criticise.
It's not a holiday. She has a platform thanks to her growing fanbase, so her involvement with this organization helps raise awareness and interest among people. She visited Rwanda and afterwards became a patron of Women for Women, which means that she gives monthly donations to the organization, and she's also a mentor (more in the financial sense) to one of the girls she met there, helping her get through school and rebuild her life (she said her name in her blog at Huffington post, but I can't remember what it was). In the meantime what have you done? Get all the information available before you bash someone.
+Richard Method, Women's concerns are way bigger issues than you can imagine, especially in Rwanda. It's gonna take time, lots of effort and resources to put these women back on track... maybe, if you'll donate some of your resources to Women for Women will create an impact on these women's lives rather than just arrogantly stating that something needs to be done about it.
And there it is. Once someone "raises awareness" for an issue, they are absolved from solving it. I, or you, are not a celebrity. We don't have millions in the bank, they do. Perhaps instead of talking they should break out the checkbook.
she's sooo beautiful and has such a good personality

Ok, so we're all "aware" of this issue. What's being done to solve it? Maybe a video about that.
