This is beautiful. I love your Welsh language lessons, but this is what the world needs more of: respect for all people. Nothing shows respect more than learning other people's language (for me it's more like trying to learn) and sharing in their culture, food, etc.

Lol... I understood the Japanese, but not the Welsh *sob*. I have to keep reminding myself I've been speaking Japanese for ~20 years, and only just started Welsh.

Hi. I am so curious to know why you speak Japanese !? As there's no really a demand unless you work w/ Japanese businessmen ,or living in Japan ! I am Japanese. 👍💜🥁🐉🎤🎶💞

@@spark_6710 I actually started learning Scots Gaelic first, and my friend (in Scotland) said nobody really speaks it unless you're out in the Hebrides or Canada, lol. So I decided maybe I'd challenge myself to learn Japanese.
I got matched with a penpal from some website (like 25 years ago) and having that cultural exchange encouraged me to keep learning. I then took some classes at night at a local satellite campus in Boston where Japanese students from Showa University in Tokyo come for a couple of semesters to be immersed - I was their American "culture" host on the weekends and we became good friends - so I had two more friends to visit. I continued working at it, and went to Japan in 2015 for three weeks, with my student-friends (now graduated) giving me guided tours around the Tokyo area, and my pen-pal of 20 years hosting me in her family's home for a week in Nara. The rest of the time, I pushed myself to use Japanese in rural parts where I couldn't use English as a crutch.
Interestingly, I was working on an international computer standard project, and I DID end up using it with some Japanese partners who came for several meetings to discuss incorporating their work into our research.
I went to Wales in 2018, but I was hiking Offa's Dyke Path (the border between England and Wales) so really didn't run into much/any Welsh except on signage. It was a problem when I couldn't pronounce the placenames though. :-/ I was so taken by the country that I decided to try to learn the language so I could visit a few more times. (I'd love to go back to Japan, as well!)
I had tickets to go back to Wales in 2020, but COVID shut everything down and I haven't been anywhere since except vicariously through youtube. *sigh*

So...is it near the Wye valkey ?
Nara is one of my uncle's favourite place in Japan. Mine is Kyoto ,although I am originally from Tokyo ! Yamaguchi is another fave !!
I didn't know of Hebrides ! I had to Google it !! Lol. 😅 Is it near ,or closer to the Sky !? Thank you so much for your reply & sharing your memories with me !! 👍👍💜🥁🐉🎤🎶💞

@@spark_6710 The southern part of Offa's Dyke Path is in the Wye Valley. It generally follows the border between England and Wales from the Irish Sea to the Severn Estuary.
Nara was wonderful! My trip went Tokyo -> Kamakura -> Hikone/Biwa -> Nara -> Kyoto -> Chiba Airport (Home)
Yes, The Isle of Skye is in the Hebrides Islands (North west islands of Scotland)
