Thank you so much for finally doing this comparison. It was me who mentioned this to you many moons ago, but perhaps it was someone else who mentioned it first. However, since doing my own comparisons ages ago, I never buy Heineken unless it’s in those 330ml cans. I love it. Not going to be as good as the German beers, but as a cheap, steady fridge-filler, it’s fantastic!!
More videos like this, pleeeeease!! 👍🏼🍻
Most welcome mate! Thanks for the great suggestion. Took so long to make as I wanted to try the bottle many times though the space of some months to see if I ever got a Dutch brewed one. Before making such accusations. The Dutch one is solid and completely different I drink it often from my local shop. So glad you got to see it in the end sorry I forgot your name but I’ve pinned your
Comment for all to see first cheers 🍻
@@thebeermonsterreviews make sure to compare the 330ml cans to the 440ml (UK) cans as well. The green bottles suffer from skunking/light strike that impairs the smell and taste of the beer if exposed to UK light either from the shop’s lighting and/or being stored where the sunlight can hit them.
I find the Dutch stuff less carbonated too, not sure if you picked up on that.
The malt is obviously far superior over in Holland and I find the UK has a metallic bitterness that is just unpleasant and I think you’re right on the water as a guy online once told me that our hard UK water creates that bitterness. Heineken try to get rid of this by treating the water, but it
Doesn’t seem to fully work.
Keep up the awesome work. 🍻
I am Dutch and my dad lived in London for 5 years in the 90's. He told me, in his own words, that the Brits had even managed to fuck up Heiniken. It was a sore spot for him because he didn't like British beer to begin with but when he got Heiniken, a brand from is own country, it was still messed up. I honestly thought my dad was complaining about nothing until I saw this video and I see it is true.
Your Dad clearly knows and loves his Heineken! There’s a clear and obvious difference the Dutch one is levels above! Cheers to you and your Dad and thanks very much for watching cheers Bosch 🍻
I purchased 4 cans of Heineken from Sainsbury today and I felt like I had just licked a cow's arse. I looked at the can and saw it suddenly said "brewed in UK and Netherlands". I can't believe the scumbuggery. I had to have a look online in case I had gone mad and was happy to come across this video. Thank you Mr Beer Monster
No worries mate your definitely not going mad. The small cans are always brewed in the UK thankfully. I honestly believe the bigger cans and bottles are always UK brewed now or definitely most often. But they can state or as they do have a version that's brewed in the Netherlands scumbags. Thanks for watching cheers BOSH 🍻
This is proper journalism. Thank you for your work! Justice for the consumer!
Haha first time I’d been called a journalist! But I love your comment 😂
That’s exactly what I want to make beer drinkers aware of the disgraceful things going on! Thanks very much for watching really appreciate it cheers to you Bosch 🍻
In America, we get 355ml bottles & cans, 473ml cans, 710 bottles & cans, and those big draft barrels, all from Holland.
Exactly how it should be! You would hate the uk one in comparison
We started getting 24oz Cans brewed in Mexico by Moctezuma, while the 24oz bottles are still from the Netherlands. I should do a review and see the difference.
@@corbinkay3848 That is a good idea. Do a BLIND taste test!
Wow thanks for enlightening me! The average beer drinker in the UK is clearly completely clueless otherwise nobody would settle for the shite brewed over here.
Staropramen was my go to until they started churning out the pissy replica from Burton.
I try to avoid british brewed lager completely, which leaves me with very few options but you've just added another for me.
Your welcome mate. The big macro breweries always up to no good! Thanks for watching cheers BOSH 🍻
Well done for calling these breweries out for what they are. I knew that some of these foreign beers were brewed in the UK but wasnt aware that they tasted so much worse! I usually stick to Warsteiner for a standard beer these days
Yeah soo much worse lucky warsteiner is brewed in Germany still! Thanks very much for watching have a great weekend cheers 🍻
Proven right yet again like the Lidl version of Birra Mortelli brewed in Italy which I prefer, where the original is brewed by Heineken in Edinburgh.
Yep I agree the ALDI version is better thanks for watching cheers 🍻
I've avoided that bottled one because I expected that to be the case. Did nearly buy one yesterday because they're £2 in B&M. Glad I stuck to my guns!
Trading standards should be on this. Treated like mugs.
For sure mate it shouldn’t be allowed. It’s like putting a Ferrari badge on a Skoda and selling it as a Ferrari 😂🍻
Great video! Morrisons have these 330ml cans,£7 or 2 packs for £10....look in the chiller fridge if you have a Morrisons 👍
Always nice to have them chilled
And ready to go 😊 thanks for watching bud cheers bosh 🍻
I always read the labels now and I won't touch a foreign beer that's brewed here under licence. If it's all that's available somewhere, I'll drink water instead.
😂😂😂😂 theres so many! Fosters, carlsberg, Stella, bud, San Miguel, moretti, corona just to name a few!
@@thebeermonsterreviews Yep. What I find disgusting is how almost every beer you ever see anywhere is owned by either Heineken, ab inbev, carlsberg, asahi or moslton coors. With varying degrees of fuckery in the beer. You can bet these big multi nationals get massive tax breaks enabling them to piss all over the small companies and force them to sell to them.
Well said mate! 👏
Moretti used to be the same where the small cans were brewed in Italy. Now they are all brewed in the UK unfortunately
It’s a shame mate I expect Heineken will do the same soon cheers 🍻
Is it my tv or is your audio up the creek?? I had to turn the tv to max just to hear anything? Was the same yesterday! Apart from that great review keep up the hard work !!!!!
It’s not just you mate. I’ve been having some technical problems lately mostly with Audio. Just got another new mic I think I need to take a look at the settings. Hopefully be sorted soon thanks for watching cheers 🍻
That’s a lesson today for me . I know that Heineken are getting everywhere but this is crazy . I’m gonna give this a go . Nice one mate . 😊🤟🏻
There taking the right piss mate! Trading standards should take a look 👀
Cheers speno Bosch 🍻
I never rated Heineken until I had it on the Sub, which is a solid decent pint.
Now I know the mini cans are the real deal, I will give it another go. 👍
If it’s Dutch brewed it decent completely different! Thanks for watching cheers bud bosh 🍻
Tried a couple of cans a few months ago when they were on offer.
A lovely drink and much nicer than the UK version which has that weird bland sharp taste.
The Dutch brewed cans are on offer in Tesco again for an even better price of £5!
Hello mate! Firstly thanks for watching so many of my videos I really appreciate it! The Dutch brewed version is decent and that’s a great offer! Cheers 🍻
Is it not cheaper to sell the larger sized bottles from beer brewed domestically in the UK than it would be to ship heavier glass bottles from the NL? Lightweight cans may be mass produced more easily in the Netherlands for international sale.
Thanks for watching mate much appreciated cheers 🍻
Would recommend 2 litre sub krups machine all beers draft quality imported 5% Amstel spanish brewed cruzcampo to name a few ,great review thanks for the heads up👍
Thanks very much for the recommendation mate, I’ve been looking at them I’m tempted but not skint atm with so many kids and Xmas fast approaching 😂🍻
Budvar, Pilsner Urquell and Paulaner Hell are brewed on the continent.
Absolutely love Pilsner urquell the original and probably the best Pilsner for me. Thanks for watching cheers 🍻
Nice one Adam I’ll have to try the small cans, wonder what Heineken we get on draught here
I have no idea mate..Never know with Heineken. Most likely the uk brewed one. Or maybe a mix of both depending where u have it! Ridiculous really. Thanks for watching mate really appreciated cheers Bosch 🍻
@@thebeermonsterreviews yeah it’s like Tyskie, the big bottles are brewed in Poland but the cans are brewed in the Netherlands, make it make sense 🙃
Dunno where you get the Polish bottles but every bottle size and cans up here are all the Dutch/uk import 5 percent Tyskie . Nothing like the 5.4/5.6 Tyskie of years ago
@@treforwalker7152so in Tesco the big bottles are brewed in poland but the cans are brewed in the Netherlands, both 5%
@@thebeermonsterreviewsit will be the UK stuff, but to be fair it does taste better in a pub,I have Heineken blade beer pump and that's UK made Heineken and tastes so much better than cans or bottles.
UK Heineken 1/10, 'Paarden Pis' Dutch Heineken 5/10
😂😂😂 don’t hold back mate! I actually don’t mind the Dutch one in comparison. Thanks for watching cheers 🍻
I’ll tell you something that’s also strange. In the US the bottle tastes different to the can even though they are both shipped from Holland. The bottle seems to have more hip character. It is probably just a bit skunky, but it’s a similar flavor to some of the IPA’s we’ve become accustomed to haha
I know what you mean bud 😂 thanks for watching much appreciated cheers 🍻
No matter where it comes from, Heineken is only an average beer. There are so many better beers around.
Yep just a Marco but the Dutch version is better in my opinion thankS for watching cheers BOSH 🍻
Home bargains did plastic Heineken bottles brewed in Austria 2 years back!! Absolutely top notch! Our Heineken bottles were undrinkable afterwards
Sounds great mate. So wrong how the same beer can be so different! Thanks for watching cheers BOSH 🍻💪
You shouldn't drink this brand in the first place. When all the big beer brands left Russia for invading Ukraine Heineken announced they would leave but didn't. Not only that, they started making the beer the brands made that did leave like Murphy's.
What a disgrace they are mate! You make a great point there thanks for helping to expose them. Cheers to you Bosch 🍻
Hi Mister. One has never had a nice cider in a tinnie. Would you think of this stuff as a Pilsner?
It’s a lager mate. Not really a pilsner as such
I stopped buying Becks beer when it was no longer made in Germany.
Yes it’s rubbish now 😟
It could be that the green bottle Heineken is skunked. Green bottles 10 to skunk easily. But you are right for sure I've heard about this phenomenon different grains different water Etc in different countries
Yea beer is always better when brewed in the country it originated from it seems. Thanks for watching mate have a great weekend BOSH 💪👊
A lot of UK water is really hard anyway due to the calcium content, a lot of groundwater aquifers in the UK are entrenched in limestone (calcium carbonate). But an ancient thing UK brewers did (which makes good old fashioned English bitter) is Burtonisation. That is, adding gypsum to the water to make it harder like the water in Burton-on-Trent where Bass and Pedigree were historically brewed.
Gypsum, which is calcium sulphate, also smells quite farty, because of the sulphur. Hence the swampy smell.
I suspect that a lot of UK breweries still add gypsum salts to the water "just because that's the way it's always been done".
Farty gypsum water doesn't make good lager.
I don't know, but I'm making an educated guess that drinkable water in the Netherlands (due to its flat saltwater marshland) is quite soft, ie contains a lot of sodium. That's probably better for lager.
Apricate the info mate! Great comment thanks for watching cheers BOSH 🍻
@@thebeermonsterreviews Appreciate the reply mate
Swampy water British lager. LOL. Please expose more British breweries Adam.
They deserve it mate. Hope your doing good Robert thanks for watching mate cheer’s Bosch 🍻
Bosch! I'm good😊
It just shows that the Brits are being ripped off with piss poor beers brewed by them multi nationals! 😢
I live in the states & the Heineken I was drinking 10 years ago tasted a little more bold & flavorful. Now it taste more watered down, maybe there skimping on the amount of malted barley that they usually put in it to cut back on costs. The average Heineken drinker might not realize this unless they have a well experienced palate
It’s definitely worse if it not brewed in the Netherlands mate! Thanks for watching much appreciated cheers to you BOSH 💪😉
I don't have enough middle fingers for such companies.
😂😂 thanks for watching mate 🍻💪
The bottled Heineken gives me terrible acid reflux pain, no other beer does, even slightly! God knows what shit they are putting in it!
Thanks worrying mate it’s not a beer I’ve really sessioned would only buy the Dutch brewed one. The state of uk brewed macro lagers is shocking cheers 🍻
The hops react to UV light and because Heineken are stupid, they continue to use green bottles which allow this to happen. Any beer brewery with an ounce of brewing knowledge will refuse to put their beer in any bottle unless it is brown.
Once the beer is exposed to UV, it gives a skunky smell and messes up the taste.
Also, the taste of UK Heineken is a twangy bitter hop bite that is not pleasant.
Get the 330ml cans and you will have a far smoother drinking experience and hopefully not acid reflux. 👍🏼🍻
In Australia a 6 pack costs double! 😠
That’s ridiculous! Thanks for watching mate cheers 🍻
I'm more surprised Heineken have kept the UK version at 5% (for now)...unlike InBev who have completely ruined Stella.
They sure did mate Stella is shocking now. Don’t give them ideas 😂
Thanks for watching much appreciated cheers Bosch 🍻
Stella in US is brewed here and for some reason enjoy it more than the Belgian. I remember the Belgian having corn now it's all malt here
Fantastic review about time these breweries got exposed. Well done Adam.🍻
Glad you enjoyed it!
Can get these in large Tesco's too! £5.25 with a clubcard, bonus!
Yeah I get them if there on club card price. 😂
Thanks very much for watching have a great weekend cheers bosh 🍻
I love those stubbies! Reminds me of going on holiday as a teen to holland and buying Heineken from the vending machine on the campsite
That sounds pretty cool mate! Beer vending machines 😂
Thanks for watching cheers Bosch 🍻
@@thebeermonsterreviews just Heineken the rest were soft drinks. Mainland Europe has a much more relaxed and sensible drinking culture.
All about the brewing water
All the macro UK brewed ones seem bad well most of them! Thanks for watching cheers BOSH 🍻
Scottish water is too high alkalinity for brewing pale beers and Heineken are probably skimping on water treatment.
Yeah it wouldn’t surprise me there all about the 💰 thanks for watching much appreciated cheers 🍻
Australian Heineken is absolute piss avoid at all costs
Oh dear 😂 thanks for watching much appreciated cheers 🍻
what do you think is the reason for the different taste? because they are brewed with different water?
Exactly that mate uk water is not great for lagers unless it's treated but macro breweries won't do that as they want to keep costs low. Cheers BOSH 🍻
Heineken (from the Netherlands) is a good beer. But the company itself is shitty and i won't buy their beer. Thanks for the review.
Completely agree mate terrible company! Thanks for watching cheers 🍻
Same Beer, different water that has an impact.
Type of water does make a huge difference I also think they have changed the recipe slightly for the British carling like taste buds 😂🍻
@@thebeermonsterreviews hahaha wouldn't surprise me! I live in Germany so I always detect the taste differences when back in UK
Uk swamp water 😂
😜😂😂 thanks for watching cheers BOSH 🍻
The Dutch stuff is head and shoulders above the uk stuff.
Yep, we being mugged off as usual. Thanks for watching cheers 🍻
Where is the neverlands?
Ops did I say that 😂
Repeatedly 😋
@@mikey73 oh might be my cockney accent thanks for watching bud cheers to you
Heineken is a great brew imo🤙🏻
For me if it’s the Dutch brewed Heineken it’s decent cheers 🍻
Heineken on the Sub beer machine is excellent 🍺
Probably dutch brewed one like this small can I enjoy it too cheers 🍻
Yup small cans far superior
Yep and it’s stupid what a con 😂
Thanks for watching cheers Bosch 🍻
I bought the cans on offer in asda, absolute rubbish, never buy again tastes and smells vile
was the 440ml cans, not the small
The small cans are Dutch brewed ones and far better cheers 🍻
Love the vid keep spreading the world mate great job¬!
Thanks mate cheers to you 🍻
Had both from uk and Netherlands and if ice cold they both go down same way ovs each to own and not causing an argument but genuinely don't see any differences? And clearly a lot dont or it would be changed? Plus Even Them 330mls you are showing can say Uk & Netherlands 😅 ive had bottles cans all saying different
serves people right for drinking the piss water then.
if you drink this sort of piss you get what you deserve.
