i had a 2001 v6 camaro. it topped out just over 125, (prob like 127). as for the older ones idk but im sure the newer ones can do at least that with the added power.
I had a 2003 Chevy Malibu and I hit the governer a few times... somewhere around 115 without trouble. It was mildly modded, but I can't believe even stock couldn't reach 125.
He was going faster then 125mph. SOHC non Vtecs can do 125. All of the cars you guys have spoken of can do more then 125mph, if they're limited that doesnt mean they're incapable. It doesnt take long to get to125mph.
my mom had a heart attack and i raced to the hospital on the freeway doing 125 in my sohc non vtec..d16a2 or something? it went 125 for about 30 miles until the tranny (auto) went out, all the heat just destroyed the clutch packs i guess. not bad considering it had 340k miles on the original everything. motor was perfectly fine after that too

Driving stick takes a day to learn. His shifting was slow but whatever. Know how I know he's a noob? He's chilling in 5th at 125mph and his hand is still on the shifter.... 2 hands on the wheel at speed.
***** First off he is on the street with a front wheel drive civic secondly he's driving with one hand on the wheel the other on the shifter and yes both hand should be on the wheel because resting your hand on the shifter is bad for the transmission but in all reality id rather be able to react and downshift and avoid wrekage or collision then have a greater chance of over and understeering my car with both hands and blowing my transmission to pieces because its hitting the rev limiter and i didn't down shift it and driving like that is not a toolbag and douche bag way of driving its just he's got a greater chance of down shifting and slowing down then an automatic transmission

@905Mississauga the car was already in germany, it never hit the states until i brought it in in august 2011. I have a clean Georgia title, registered and insured like any other civic out there. It was sold at a military car sales in Germany back in 1999 but it never came to the U.S. until now.

Well the van was going about 55mph, and in the time the van flew by and by the time the civic caught up from an initial velocity of 3mph, the van went a little over ~1/4 of a mile. Basically, this guy's first unofficial run on the highway nabbed him ~20 seconds to go 0.28 of a mile. I mean... It' not bad? The recorded time for a quarter mile while driving a stock EM1 is between 15 and 16 seconds. No matter what, a 55mph headstart will take a bit of time to catch up.
Good buy in my opinion. From what it sounds like is that the car over-heated? Be sure to check the head and block. A blown headgasket from overheating tends to cause more damage than whats obvious to the eye. Good luck!

civic si will do ~119-120mph in 4th.. he shifted to fifth and easilly gained another 10-15mph.. I can attest to the fact my 100% stock 98 integra gsr went gps verified 145mph. flat land.. no downhill. and it may have had a mph or 2 left in it.
@hammad0105 with the Hero Motorsports addition you get i believ 6 3M adhesive mounts that are concave sticky mounts you can put anywhere on your car. I'd recommend putting them on your rear 1/4 panel or roof. Just know this, you can't remove them unless you use a heat gun. 3M is very strong. I've tested it, it's like the chuck norris of adhesive. Honestly though, wait until February when the REMOTE go pro comes out.
@reglus03 yeah, in certain sections. and it is illegal to pass in any lane other than the left (forces slow cars over to the right so fast can go by on left). Are there are cameras all along the road so that safety cars can be dispatched to clean up wrecks as quick as possible. I think during these times certain speeds are enforced.

I got my electron blue pearl 2000 SI up to 155 on the freeway. I was going up against a Suped up Honda Accord. I stayed 1 car length ahead of it for about 8 miles. I miss that car!
