    Great video, very easy to follow. For the end result the contrast and saturation doesn't match between you and the background but the process you're outlining is easy to follow and I'll try something like it (I still have Photoshop 6 so I don't think it has the Generative Fill feature for an entire frame and I know it doesn't have the AI prompt feature). Thanks!

    Great job on this! Just a heads up, right above the eyedropper you can change this from Object to Person. May or may not do a slightly better job on hair retention and lower contrast backgrounds for human subjects.

    Pretty damn good for a fast tutorial, I can see how this can work perfectly in corporate talking heads videos, as the backgorund will always be blur. Great.

    Looks like a great tutorial but I am running the free version of resolve, any advice for achieving something similar with that? Thanks :)

    I don't have the magic mask tool. Is it possible that this only exists in the studio and not the free version?

      Define "super powerful PC".
      Also, this is not a real-time or a livestream tutorial, but rather, a pre-rendered video tutorial. As long as your computer can do the job, it's not hugely important how long it takes to render. Click render, go to the gym/Starbucks/run errands, or sleep. It ends up the same once it's done, and uploaded to TH-cam.

    how does the magic mask compare to rotoscope in after effects? Like, aren't the render times wild and resource intensive?

    • @JoshChappell
      @JoshChappell  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In DaVinci on a M1 mac with 8gb of ram it takes 20 seconds to render 8 seconds . I haven't tried out After Effects new roto features but im sure the same concept can be achieved using that.

      Resolve is much more resource-efficient than AE. If you have a good GPU, Resolve (esp Studio) can take full advantage of it and run at 100%.
