I love JSU ❤️ I grew up there my whole life and lived right behind the campus. I miss hearing and seeing the band and drill rehearsals. Nothing can compare to this band.
As a former snare drummer for UofL in 1981 and 82, I have to say Jacksonville State's band is, without a doubt, one of the best college bands in the nation. They bring it every year. And their drumline, off the charts good. Just like Western Carolina, North Alabama, and North Texas, schools very few know about, but have great programs and there are many others like them. Too bad the Card fans didn't see the rest of this show because it is really good.
Thanks for posting! To answer the lady in the video's question, yes we are known for our band program. The Southerners have been the largest collegiate marching band in the country for the past few years averaging about 500 members. Members come to Jax State from all over the country specifically to be part of our band program, and probably somewhere around half of the crowd at our home games are there specifically for the band. Hope ya'll enjoyed it!

My son was in Marching Band at Floyd Central High School in Indiana and I always loved the big bands at BOA like Avon High School. So many instruments give a great sound!!
