  • The Jazzy Circuit is a national Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike league made up of 3 types of events: Ranking Events, Auto-qualifiers, and The Jazzy Finale! Independent tournament organizers all over the US run Ranking Events to draw players to their local venues and help their scenes accrue Ranking Points on the Jazzy Leaderboard. The Auto-qualifiers are semi-independent events run with additional guidance from the Circuit where the champion immediately earns a spot in the Jazzy Finale. The Jazzy Finale is a 3-day event featuring a team tournament, a singles Last Chance Qualifier, and then the Finale Tournament, itself: 16 players facing off to determine the best player in the country for that season! Thank you to all of the organizers, players, donors, sponsors, and more who make The Jazzy Circuit possible!
Thank you and congratulations to the top 16 players of The Jazzy Circuit Season 4, including Yuuki, Resolve (Resolve3s), FM805 (FMJuan / FM Juan / FearMex), Tommy2step (Tommy2steptx / Retr02step), exodus (exo / exodus3s), EnV (Yung Swipes / Swip3s / envboricua), BigRed, and NiaBanH, FrankieBFG (feetwork101 / feetwork), Virsaga, AmirXL (Amir), Knuckledust, MINE (Makoto Mike / MAMI), Lance (thelanceshow), FlannelJack (G.K.), 5 Star (5Star / Yi Wang)!

Honestly that taunt after parried low forward was a really smart timing mixup

Yeah, there was no way that he was going to parry that. Super sneaky.

I'm glad you enjoyed it. The players put on a hell of a show, and much thanks to Duralath and Arlieth for commentating: two very knowledgeable players and excellent commentators.

Yeah, he was actually auto-qualified for the tournament because he traveled to Chicago and bodied everyone! So the cost of his flight to Denver was covered by the event, itself!

Matches were hype, but it's kinda lame imo when TopTierSweaties take over. Kinda boring matches. 🙆🤷 I guess they way serious 'bout that money. 💰

For better or worse, the top tiers are quite dominant at the highest level of 3rd Strike. That being said, my mentality regarding them has changed over the years. It does get frustrating to see the same characters winning the money, but I'm extremely happy when the 'top tier sweaties' come out and play, because we all need experience in these match-ups. Losing to one of the best Chun-li players in the world is understandable, but losing to a crappy Chun-li is inexcusable -- and that's something that can be avoided only by fighting strong Chun-li players. If it takes money to get the best players in the world to come out and play, then I'm glad that they're making that money. Regardless of who they play, the rest of us learning-players could benefit from fighting them and watching them fight. But yeah, I know; it kinda hurts when you see the low-tier heroes lose to the top tiers in a tournament.

bro dont be a scrub picking top tiers is sick and 3s has godlike balance anyways, yk the top tier players are winning cuz they have so much skill they arent just carried.

@@TuxRacing69 True facts. Too much is said about how dominating the top tiers are in 3rd Strike; I can't imagine that many fighting games in the world are as balanced as 3S is. That said, the strongest characters are strong enough that the top players wouldn't be winning if they weren't picking them -- but that's just because 3S is such a deep and well-explored game that, playing at events at the very highest level, players need every advantage that they can get to survive to the top. You have to be the absolute best player and with a character that can really benefit the most from your skills. Nobody is carried by their character in 3S; the game is just too cerebral and there are too many options on both offense and defense.

this is the case with every fighting game and i love it. having op characters makes the game interesting. if everyone were completely even (this is nearly impossible to do without stripping the game of its personality) then everything would be boring. having yuns, chuns, and kens dominate the scene makes it fun when a ryu, necro, or hugo pops onto the screen. chris g recently played sean in tourney and it was hype asf- but its only hype because sean is bad, not because hes rarely used. the way you phrase this makes me think that you find fun in playing those lesser used, lower tier characters. you enjoy those characters because theyre not as good. you enjoy the system just as much as someone who enjoys chun because they find the most success with her!
