Its an excellent app. What confuses me is eBird. Is it the same or similar? I'd like my findings to be logged by ornithologists. Im not sure wither eBird does that or if i should use BTO's BirdTrack aswell.
Yes, I agree. And great question. The Merlin and eBird app are similar and are both birding tools developed by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology. They are closely connected and if you have an eBird login, you can integrate your Merlin Bird ID app with your eBird account. Also, your Merlin app can contribute data to eBird. So, when you identify and register a bird sighting in Merlin, it's added to the eBird database. Hope that helps, and thanks for reaching out!
