Full Walk-thru of the Merlin Bird ID App by Cornell Lab

Many people ask me how I ID bird species. Simple, I use the awesome Merlin Bird ID App by Cornell Lab.
This Android and Apple app is completely free and works totally offline too.

Cool. I have had the Merlin app for a while but never tried the photo id feature. I would not have thought of taking a photo of the back of my camera.

I cannot use it without data. It's very frustrating as I often do not have service when hiking. Often I know the bird and want to show people about it. How do I look at birds in the app without data?
