I remember watching the first episode and expecting to hate Hank. He ended up one of the best people and characters in the show. He was the family man Walt pretended to be.

Poor Hank. He spent the majority of the series chasing after the white whale that is Heisenberg. He kept chasing it and chasing it until he was finally able to catch up to it and when he did, what happened? That whale turned, looked at him, and then swallowed him whole. tread lightly
Even in your analogy Ahab actually captured the whale. Hank got Walter dead to rights, and it was only because of Jack and his gang that he lived. However, because of the heroics of Hank, Walter lost the only treasure he really wanted - the love and respect of his family.
@@jesussaves21 Hank got killed and buried in the desert. His story was sad. Besides he never actually captured Walt. He caught up to him, but that's when things took a turn.
