Tourte lorraine is not translated quiche lorraine. A tourte is a tarte with a bottom and a top. It has the shape of an american apple pie.

+xavytex Thank you for the information! How would you translate it? Your wocomoCOOK Team

A "Lorraine meat pie" would be the closest.
But since "Quiche Lorraine" in French remains "Quiche Lorraine" in English, I would not translate "Tourte Lorraine" either.
It's always a challenge to translate food vocabulary in English.
One almost always end up with a translation that is either inesthetic or inaccurate.
English makes every dish sound like they are school canteen dishes.

+xavytex You are right, food vocabulary is hard to translate. Anyway, thank you for your clarification, we hope that you will enjoy the other Royal Dinner videos: goo.gl/RE4Xlf

Yeah, I was confused by the translation at first. That's not atl all a quiche lorraine. Very good, of course, but something else entirely.

Tourte is more of a salty pie with meat and/or vegetables.
