I've seen your videos randomly over the years and awesome job in brodequin. This was super impressive, especially with all of those lille fills! Dude you killed this!
It took me a long time to learn this on guitar; the “easy” part is recognizing the repeating patterns and the hard part is remembering how all those patterns fit together lol. But that’s DS in a nutshell. As a former drummer though I can’t imagine how much more difficult it must have been, not only to learn the entire song (flawlessly!) but to commit it to memory and then execute it in a single take. This is amazing work. 🤘
God damn it! I didn't think anybody could manipulate the high hat while playing double! Super impressive man, I am gonna try that out and see if I can even get close.
All it really involves is moving your foot over to the side to hit both the kick pedal and hi hat pedal simultaneously. It's actually a pretty common technique used by different drummers. Sean Reinert was probably the earliest example of that, and some more modern guys like Lille Gruber and John Longstreth use it.
Super clean! Any chance you could pull off something from Passages or the new album? Other than Lyle's latest video I can't find a single modern-era DS drum cover. Speaks volumes about how nutty Lille's style is...
Yeah I've been tossing around the idea of another newer one. Hard stuff for sure. At the moment I'm focusing on the new Brodequin album, but once that's done and I feel up to torturing myself I might do it.
I've gotta say... I've watched a lot of drum covers in my days and this is one of the best covers I've seen in all of my life. Kudos!
And while obviously challenging, it really didn't look overly hard for him, which is kind of nuts too.
Dude i am speechless!!! You killed it. extremely talented drumming. I love defeated sanity so much, and the drummimg on that album is so sick 🤘
1:09 that technique was cool af
ya that is insane
Your drumming is so relaxed. This was a joy to watch! It's a lot to unpack but you nailed it, man!

Look how relaxed he is, but look how his rack is fuckin' SHAKIN' @1:17.

Very good 🤘
Absolutely incredible playing, holy shit.
Good shit, looking lille's blasting technique look so easy. Nailed the solo too. Now do perspectives!
Dude that song is so sick. Maybe! Incredibly hard to nail that long of a song in one take so we'll see haha

guitarist to drummers, what is this blast beat called at 0:56 ? I always love a full speed blast into one of these but never know what to call it
It's more of a triplet feel blast. Hope that helps!
Great cover. Is that the push pull technique on the blast beats?
Yeah with my left hand! My right hand does a Moeller stroke variation.
